  1. Mr. Howell wanted a 6-inch 9 mm limited top end fitted to his existing open gun. 6-inch 9 mm parts are extremely hard to come by right now.
  2. No worries, John, all ended well. And I'm not too worried about the "mud bay" footing this year- I'll be sporting Hot Pink w/ Leopard spot wellies. I'm a little worried though they will clash w/ my red/white/blue Freedom Gunworks jersey! Looking forward to a great match- counting down the weeks! Susan
  3. I'm bringing my Wellies this year just in case the mud is as heavy as last year... On our last stage of the match, we had 1 person lose a shoe, 1 DQ for falling (and breaking 180) after his foot got stuck in the mud, and a whole group of muddy people. It was fun, but would've been much more enjoyable with proper footwear!
  4. I hate it! When I'm case-guaging loaded rounds and loading ammo boxes, I always know when Bobby has used the pump spray version. The rounds are sticky and seem to attract dirt and grime more. Bobby says that the 1050 runs better w/ the pump spray, but the aerosol seems to dissipate better so... Susan
  5. SharonAnne, My prayers are with you that your recovery will continue to progress so that you may find joy in shooting and other activities again. We have a young man here in town (he's about 30) who, after several failed attempts are getting some help, was successfully fitted with a Spinal Cord Stimulator in early December of last year. Almost immediately he felt relief and today, just 2 months after the procedure, he's like a new person and can run and play with his kids! My prayers for you are that you experience similar success. Hang in there and know that others are thinking about you, Susan
  6. Shooting USA's 2/17 edition of Impossible Shots was about a guy, Ted Gundy, who fought Battle of the Bulge and many more in Europe. It was a great piece. We owe so much to those brave soliders of WWII, they truly are The Greatest Generation!
  7. Honestly I think the Thermacell line of products is the best stuff on the market. No sticky, slimy or greasy repellant to spray on and it keeps pests out of your way! Check out their holsters, lanterns, etc for accessories. They even have original, unscented and Earth scent (whatever that is...).
  8. Bobby and I got to play with one of these at Saul's booth at SHOT Show. It is VERY cool and I tried my best to sweet talk him out of one... no go. He said he had a guy offer him over $500 to take one with him (answer was no)! Anyway, I can't wait to have one in hand. Now if only they came in pink...
  9. Keep your joy to yourself... us South GA folks rather like our anti-snow days! Seriously, all the local schools here are closed and one of the other banks in town even closed early. Forecast aside, it's RAINING people! And not even a good rain at that! Geez...
  10. I was gonna ask the same question as Jim- what are you using to hold your pistols on the door, Ken? Our 2 gun safes came with some of the velcro pouches for pistols to hang on the doors. We quickly got rid of those, as they don't seem to want to hold anything larger than a Ruger .380! Would love to know a better alternative that doesn't compromise the integrity of the safe. Susan
  11. I just talked to a very nice girl at the hotel desk. They are in the process of loading the Group Rate into their system and by tonight we should be able to book online, using Group Code "MSC".
  12. I will second Rothenburg. I stayed there for 3 days back in 1999 and it was wonderful! A great home base for seeing the famed Romantic Road and the town is very nice with friendly people. Shouldn't be too crowded in March either. Also, I would suggest Bacharach, which is on the Rhine River. I stayed in the Hotel Kranenturm there and it was wonderful- parts of the towel of the hotel are thousands of years old! You can take a scenic boat tour of the Rhine while in the town and visit some of the vineyards on the hillside. Gorgeous!
  13. Before it gets closed... Good luck and God speed to your brother. I appreciate all that he, and so many others, are doing to keep us safe. I know you must be proud. Susan
  14. I'll second that remark! It's been on mine and Bobby's calendar since we were driving home after last year's match. Can't wait to do it again! Susan
  15. Mark, when you are going? I'll be there mid-March visiting my brother. Susan
  16. Yeah, I booked a ticket with a tour bus company to see the Grand Canyon one day while in Vegas for SHOT. Should've looked at the weather first - high 40 low 11 and rain/snow. I've since cancelled my ticket. I'll have to see the GC on the next trip!
  17. Bobby made a huge crockpot of venison chili last night. We ate big ol' bowls of it over rice with sour cream and shredded cheddar. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. My thoughts exactly! How about a space-age stapler from the Jetsons?!?
  19. Chris, Bobby and I are thinking about you and praying for your mom... Susan
  20. Bobby and I are heading to Brunswick, GA today after work. Tomorrow morning, we'll participate in our 1st Steel Match at Coastal Georgia Gun Club. I shooting steel, so it should be fun! (Hopefully my excitement will carry me through the 25 degree weather that's expected at the start of the match!) AND, we pick up our Dillon 1050 from a local shooter there too, so now I can load my 9mm ammo even faster. Heck, who am I kidding... I mean BOBBY can load it even faster!
  21. I read your article last night- it's awesome! Thank you SO much for such great women's coverage. You did an AWESOME job! Susan
  22. We have our Homeowners Insurance through Cotton States and firearms can be added on. We haven't done this yet (it's on the proverbial "REALLY Need To Do List"), but I have talked w/ my agent about it and she advised us to put them at replacement cost as well. For Cotton States, they require any item valued over $1,000 to have an appraisal done by someone in the industry. Susan
  23. It can be done, according to both FedEX and UPS... the hazardous materials, in this case primers and powder, must be packaged in individual cardboard boxes and then packaged together in 1 box called an "Overpack". The outside of the overpack box must be labeled as such and all types of hazardous materials contained inside the box must be properly noted on the exterior. There are weight limits that can be shipped in each container. I believe (and don't quote me on these exact figures) it's about 75,00 primers in 1 package and 100 pounds of powder in a package. So, if you are ordering more than these amounts, they cannot be shipped together and would result in 2 HazMat fees. But if your order is less than that, I'm not sure why the company won't combine them... Susan
  24. YAY! Guess you finally got the bank to cooperate, though I'm SURE it wasn't the one we talked about at the Mexican restaurant after EAGC a couple months ago. So, when's your Open House party?!?
