GentlemanJim
I got the BIG prize last time I raced Drag boats. An $8000.00 helo ride A $100,000.00 hospital bill One YEAR in a wheelchair One more year learning how to walk again. Yes it is a rush...but its a little risky as well Be careful what you ask for Jim
Chris
Thats a New Zeland thing. The water in some of those courses is only about 2-3 feet deep.
smokshwn
Its called sprintboating, way popular down under. Apparently there is a course near Albany OR. I want to check it out, hopefully they may have something during R&R 3 gun this year.

Storm52
It looks like they go out into a golf course with a dozer, cut a swath behind a walking cow with bucket of lime on its tail and fill the trench with water. Great to watch...at a distance!

TMC
Yes!, 13 foot of boat with a 500hp Chevy. That's got to be more fun than any jet ski
gm iprod
500HP!, only in the small ones. One guy I went to school with has a 900hp sprint boat. I raises the hair on the back of your neck and flattens it on top of your head. Ungodly fast. Given enough room they will hit 130mph in about 5 seconds. We nearly got busted one day cutting through a boat club on an engine test at 100mph, the local sherriff was not particularly impressed, he came around to where we were a few days later and Ken had his spare boat in bits all over the garage, different colour, smaller engine, I was sitting on the fast one under a frame and canopy. Seeing as they were not sure who did it they could not take a close look and assumed the only boat he owned was the one leaking and bleeding all over the concrete. They had a race a few years ago in an old clay quarry just up the road from my house. Just run a bulldozer around and scrap out about 24" and turn on a tap. Only took them two days to cut the track and fill it. It was awesome. But I know of a few guys have been fairly beaten upwhen it all goes wrong. Massive rivalry between Australia and New Zealand over this.
