What Bullet And Weight Are You Using To Make Major In .38 Super?

I'm curious what bullet weight and style people are using to make Major for IPSC in a race gun. I'm going to be buying a new race gun and am trying to figure what combination of components I'll also be needing. What bullet brand are you using also?

Thanks in advance,

Pete

115 grain CMJ from Montana Gold Bullets

I used to use 124's, but wanted more gas pressure to work the ports and comp better. They were 124gr. CMJ's again from MGB. I'll be trying their 121gr. bullets when I get back home. BTW, the pistol shoots .5" at 50 yards. Gotta love Rusty Kidd.

I use a 115 zero HP in front of 9.4 of 3n37. I'm not flashing on a lead base and at 170pf I'm getting good accuracy and almost no flip from my Schuemann hybrid + 6 port comp. I load a Smirfel long (RCH is inappropriate with ladys present). They just feed better.

precision delta 124 .356 bullets.

fed 200 primers

starline or armscor brass

7.5 grains imr 7625

loaded to 1.250

makes 171 in 1-32 twist 4 port hybrid...not nearly as LOUD as some of the other popular loads.

Alliant power pistol shoots good too. its just incredibly LOUD!

I guess I'm kind of weird. I like a heavier bullet. 135 gr Zero RN sized .356".

Currently burning SR 4756, 8.2 gr making 1275 fps.

Winchester Small Pistol Primers

Currently 38 super mixed brass

Nothing weard about it. I'm saving 4000 .356/ 115's for when my barrel starts to loose accuracy.
