Yoseppy
What’s the point of the recoil buffer on the shadow 2 and do you use it or take it off?
slavex
to stop the battering of your spring box on the frame.
Tunachaser
I use mine other don't. Try it, see if you like it.
hlsccsfa
Supposedly it would help prolong the life of the slide stop. I use the thick buffer on all of my 3 S2s. I have shot over 8K rounds through my practice gun so far and the slide stop is still good
ramnj
It came installed on my Shadow 2. Haven't had any issues with it so I leave it installed.

ColoradoNick
My shadow 2 OR came with a thick buffer installed, my S2 orange a thin. I'm using a 9lb recoil spring and the thick takes the abuse much better and I notice no difference between the thin.
rowdyb
I use the thick in my shadow 2s. The thin is worthless for me. Tried them in my older sp01 guns and they were not helpful.
fyaman43
I too leave the thick ones installed and have yet to break a slide stop despite tens of thousands of rounds between 3 guns. Coincidence is not causation but who knows... Run an 11# recoil spring and 13# main spring.
LDRIDER
I too run a lighter spring in my S2. Leaving the thick buffer in helps mitigate damage and adds a longer life to the slide stop.

Runswithwood1
I took it out because seemed like the slide was pretty sluggish going into battery, maybe now that the gun is broken in a bit I'll retry it
