Nice, factory or handload ammo?

The rifle is a chassis built by Don Fraley at Advanced Weapons Technology.

The scope is  Sig Tango 5-30 power.

Both are awesome.

Finished Don Fraley's (AWT) long range rifle class. 10 inch circle, 3 consecutive hits at 1000 yards.

Very good shooting. The worst part is the price of the ammo. I love mine, but don’t shoot it much because of the ammo expense

Gary- get a Ruger precision rifle in 6mm creedmore- it will do almost what your 338 will do at less expense and you can save your shoulder. Kudos for shooting the 338. Couple of guys have then here at the range- like cannons going off.  They bring their ammo in a large truck!!!!!!!!!

Ruger doesn't sell a rifle in 6mm Creedmore. No one does actually.

Creedmore / Creedmoor

Two different words. One is a cartridge named after a historic shooting range. The other is a made up word with no meaning.

I have a RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor that I bought before Don started building rifles. Don just built me a 300 PRC that I am waiting on the optic to come in. I plan on doing the 1000 yard test with all three guns, hopefully before the end of summer.

Gary- I have a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25, MRAD on my 6mm. It works wonderfully out to 1100 yards- farthest I have shot it so far in Litchfield, KY.  Evansville range is out to 525 yards.

My dope card works great- with a 100 yard zero- the card is labelled up to 1000 yards in 50 yards increments. The zero stop on the scope works great- It has a large sunshade also.

I use either factory ammo or my reloads- 108 grain ELD Hornady - reloads are 41 grains of H4350 which gives me similar velocities to the factory- 2960fps. You can use Strelok or 4DOF (Hornady) for the calculations unless you are fortunate enough to have a Kiestrel, which will do the wind, etc also.

Yep using strelok which is very close to actual clicks.

Thanks.

One of the guys from KY had a 300 PRC last week at the range. Noisy but very accurate. Should do very well at 1000 yards with the 225? grain bullet.
