Things Stolen From Hotel Room

I thought I was halcinating. I came back to my Las Vegas hotel room from the conference I am attending, and found my fresh clothings in plastic bag was gone from my suitecase! Security personel was just here to take statement.

Its not expensive clothings at all. Isn't that strange? I was theorizing it could be my die-hard fan you know, ;) ... But if I was him, I'd rather go for dirty laundry right? :D So why my ordinary clothes????

I had one black dress which have a really good memories wearing it.... I am bummed.

I don't know how they will compensate on this yet so I will let you guys know. This is Starwood resort hotel so I don't mind to get some spa time comped, seriously!!

This kind of thing makes you feel violated. Chopping off the theives hands might cure his/her compulsion to steal what does not belong to them.

You made reference to your admirer taking your dirty clothes, your sick. I like that in a woman. :P

Marilin, I will fore sure to do so on behave of you! (just kidding)

You guys are so right. I was about to bring my one and only gun for drifire (Golden Bullet is today and tomorrow) . I am sooooooooo glad I didn't bring it and (1) it wasn't with me and (2) it wasn't stolen.

Now, what you guys do if you attend, say, 3 guns.... can't even go out for dinner leaving your giuns in the room!

Thanks for the support. :)

Carry them all to dinner! :D

But, I think you live in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia, so that might not be a possibility :(

If I have to leave the guns in the room and there is no safe then I store them in the largest suitcase that I have and lock it. Also if you get a bike chain/padlock then you can loop it through the handles onto a piece of furniture.

Most thefts are all about opportunity, if it's difficult then they won't do it.

Just a suggestion, cos u asked :)

Years ago when I was attending the West Coast Invitional in Piru CA, I had left my Officers in the room under the pillow at the Hotel in Fillmore. Remembered that I had left it when I got to the range. When I got back to the room the bed was made and the gun was right there under the pillow. I considered myself lucky.

Another option is I've seen one competitor use is to chain tun gun to the toilet. Adds new meaning to the term "shooting the s---".

I wonder if the hotels will be able to use all those cameras to track this down? They often have them in non-casino areas to provide evidence that "slip and fall" injuries are being faked. It might be worth finding out of they have video coverage of this area so you can determine if they have this mechanism available, but have decided not to spend the effort to use it.

Happened to me in London. A group of us had just returned from the (then) Soviet Union, and I had a gift of candies, food and chocolates in a box or basket or something on my nightstand. (I'm sure my friends in Russia went to a lot of trouble at the time to get these goodies, too). So my roommate and I just stepped out for dinner right after arriving, and when we returned the whole food box was GONE!! I reported it immediately to staff and they all, as a group, LAUGHED ALOUD at me like I was nutz! I was furious!! I honestly couldn't believe it! They refused to take the report. They were even rude to us when we all registered at the hotel in the first place. WTF...??!! It pretty much ruined the remainder of the trip home.:angry::wacko:

With all the security cameras in sin city they aught to be able to tell you how many times a gnats ass wiggles while it flys down the hall. Hope they find something out for you.

I can't say I'm surprised, England and London in particular have a crime rate like you would not believe. I've stayed in hotels in London where the owner treat you as if they are doing you a favour by letting you stay there.

At least in Reno and Vegas, when I've had guns with me and knew I'd be out of the room for an extended period, I'd check the guns with Hotel/Casino Security. In smaller places, I put my range bag in a steel cable mesh locking cargo net and cable lock that to the plumbing. Sure, it's obvious that there's something in there that is valuable, but like BritinUSA said, we're talking about crimes of opportunity, here.

The lockable steel cable net bags come in various sizes, some big enough to hold a duffel bag. They don't come in full suitcase size, though, and they are a bit of a hassle.

Sorry to hear about your experience there, Rika, but congrats on your finish (High Limited - Lady) in the Golden Bullet.

When I used to travel the circuit selling merchandise it would be common to have 20 complete SV or STi guns. I wouldnt leave them at the range in my trailer or in my truck. I kept them in the hotel room, even when away to dinner. Cant say I never worried about it. In fact I always turned the TV on and turned it up and also put the do not distrub card on the doorknob. If somebody outside saw me leave I would actually act as if talking to someone else in the room as I closed the door.

May seem crazy but I never lost a gun in all the years I traveled.

Follow up...

at the checkout, the lady didn't know about it so I told her. She "took care of" the room charge only. Not breakfast. I was so tense after the theft and didn't sleep at all... therefore, was quite hungry you know???

3 days past but not call from hotel security as promised... time to bug them and get lawyer involved, at least to write a letter.
