Drillbit
I'm looking at some G10 grips but not sure why, other then the grip patterns and color choices. Who here has them and what is your opinion. Are they an upgrade, or just the next best thing?
TeedOff
I have VZ grips on several of my 1911s. I felt like they were a good upgrade in terms of increasing grip on the gun. Really rough texture that makes the gun stay put in your hand.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
GB3
VZs look cool and are super grippy, but they are heavier than one would think. If your Single Stack gun is close to making weight, it could put you over.

My SA loaded target in 45 is still under legal weight with them. Edited August 28, 2017 by Eureka1911
Helimech
I had issues making weight with the G10 grips on my 1911's. I took them off and hollowed out the inside of the grip panel. I was able to make weight that way. Just be careful and don't cut to deep, stay away from the edges, the G10 panels are very strong. Jim
Bigzeke
I have VZ Simonich Gunners on a Hardchrome Trojan 40. Dawson tooless guide rod and ICE magwell. With Wilson Combat mags it come in at 43.0 ounces. First time I saw 43.1 on a scale (Oregon State 2017) I had a heart attack. They kindly waited for it to settle at 43.0. But 45 1911s have a better chance to make weight. As for the "grippiness", most of my friends call them cheese graters. I work blue collar so they don't bother me. But if your hands are on the softer side, I would recommend a lighter texture.
BigGabe
They have excellent gripping qualities. They can be a little rough but you get used to it.
Startingover
I like the look a lot better than the factory wood that came on my SA RO. That and I didn't want to cut up the stock ones to clear my extended slide release
Beef15
I just got some from Klonimus, decent looking and low cost, they are aggressive, also heavy. Sent from my SM-G360V using Tapatalk
RickT
VZ grips look good, but even the aggressive grips don't hold up in hot, humid conditions. We've replaced all our VZ grips with Pachmayr grips. These do nothing for the bling of the gun, but they work.

BASE772
I've had a couple pair of VZ's and they are very good. But LOK are my go to grips now. Great quality at a great price. And cheap shipping. http://lokgrips.com/gun-grips/1911 Edited August 30, 2017 by BASE772
MrSmith
I use the VZ diamondbacks on my 1911's and Shadow. These have a great rough texture. They can be sanded smoother for soft hands, but don't take long to get used to. Then anything smoother feels almost slick.
