Czhase
I stumbled across this wondering around the interweb. Does anyone know anything about these pistols, or the company? I don't speak German but its seems to be some kind of Custom Shop. http://www.waffen-oschatz.de/CZ_75_SP01_Viper.html

pevadijk
Oschatz is a famous Geman gunsmith and has been making these pistols for quite some time. They are also sold bij Frankonia, which is a big German wholesale outfit. Here in Europe these pistols (there is also a 6" Kadet version in .22) are quite popular. kneelingatlas
I've corresponded with the guy who built one: a SAO SP01 frame with a TS upper. Edited October 31, 2013 by kneelingatlas

wdlong1
Could you use those grips in production? They seem to form a pretty good magwell.
eric nielsen
Yes the TacSport slide gets you to 5.5" barrel length. Where do they get the 6" slide? With 1911-type barrel bushing?

blind bat
CZC sells a 6" barrel but I can't find a factory 6" slide. From the looks of the melt job on the rear sight, I wonder if the slide is custom machined from scratch.

jayjay1
http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=133083&page=23 Post #552, that one in the middle is mine. Waffen Oschatz, the actual owner´s name is Kurt Tschofen, makes the 6" slides. The one at the top is a CZ 97 Sport, same stuff in .45 ACP. Both are extreme precise, without any doubt, hands down. Both where the winners in a precision test from two weapon magazines over here (Visier and Caliber). But in 9mm Luger I would recommend a CZ 75 Sport II above the Viper. To be honest, the Viper only has a 5,5" barrel, the Sport II has a 6". The reason therefore is a weight limitation for the German precision discipline at the DSB (German shooting association). The handle piece of the Viper is, because of the long dust cover, heavier than the old one from the Sport II, that´s why they shortened slide and barrel. The barrels in all of them are Lothar Walther polygone, nuff said. Edited November 1, 2013 by jayjay1
jayjay1
Here´s another pic of my Viper. Well, this is with the old SA/DA trigger, now she has SAO, think I should make another pic. Edited November 1, 2013 by jayjay1
jayjay1
How do we get one over here on this side of the pond? Buy one? I suppose that Waffen Oschatz might have problems with English. If you or anybody is really interested in, I could write a German text for you, for an email. Send me a PM if you like.

huskerlrrp
Very nice. I'll be in Swabia They're in Stuttgart. You could combine a visit with a cruise on the Rhine and tours of castles for a memorable vacation. I wonder if I could take an aristocrat slide back home with me? I wonder too. I'm actually going there in Dec.Hometown. I'm also going to be there in December. Why don't you buy one for a poor "once removed" Karlsruhe transplant? It's the least you wealthy Stuttgart natives could do.
z40acp
That is what I wish we could have for Production. The never seen CTS LS-P but with the SP-01 bottom. Maybe even lighten the slide a little like they do to G34s and XDM 5.25s. It would be the new "it" gun for Production. I wonder how many they have made. To get the required 2000, can it be by two different manufacturers? Edited November 1, 2013 by z40acp
