  1. Will give them a ring tomorrow after work. Thanks for the lead.
  2. OWB is fine as long as it's not a dropped off set holster. That'd be a bit hard to conceal. I'd love to hear your suggestions for the OWB holsters. I'll look up the Raven Concealment.
  3. I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone runs a similar set up and has had success finding holsters. This will be for conceal carry, not competition. I would prefer OWB, but don't mind IWB. I also prefer a leather instead of kydex, but at this point would go with kydex since I haven't found much. Bonus points if the holster actually covers the the Deltapoint.
  4. Does anyone know of carry holsters that would accommodate this M&P Pro? It's my brother's gun. I don't have current pics, but it now has an extended threaded barrel, so I'm thinking the holster should be open.
  5. 1.085 OAL, Vihtavuori n320 @ 3.2 grains I believe (I have it documented, but can't remember of the top of my head exactly if it was 3.2 grains), 124 grain Montana Gold JHP EDIT: CCI primers.
  6. Ascendence International nTherm handguards. http://ascendanceintl.com/ascendance-hand-guards/
  7. Thanks for the quick reply. Any tips you have for not having the detent shooting out or just any tips in general? I'm paranoid. I'm thinking of building a box to take the gun apart in so that if something shoots out, like the detent which is under spring tension, it will land in the box.
  8. Haven't taken my Accu-shadow apart before, but wanting to install the DSperman extra power safety springs that I got a week ago. My question is, do I have to remove the hammer spring first? I was checking the guide and the step prior is to remove the hammer spring. Or, is the guide in no particular order, and all I have to do is push the sear spring leg out and remove the sear cage so that I can access the safety detent?
  9. It is possible, but you have to literally, sand the right hand side safety lever down. If I'm not mistaken, CGW has done this modification to a customer's gun before. I'm almost positive it was CGW, but might have been another CZ builder. A guy posted pics of it on the CZ forums a few weeks ago. EDIT: Might have been Thompson Custom. If I do find the thread, I'll edit this post again.
  10. Seems to make sense. I mean after you took a mallet to the gun, you most likely reduced the overall length of the cartridge. It stands to reason that the new and shorter overall length chambers just fine. FWIW, my CZ likes 1.085 overall length but that's with reloads using 124 gr MG JHP.
  11. For a drop in kit, the trigger feels better than the M&P trigger job that was on this gun prior to installation, and the trigger job was by a very, very renown M&P gun smith. Compared to my bro's Accu-shadow, this drop in trigger has less over travel, but a bit more pre-travel, but we're talking fractions of a fraction of an inch. The Accu has 1/16 inch over travel and about the same for pre-travel. (I'm not dropping names)
  12. I couldn't tell if the trigger was made of a polymer or if it was aluminum. I'm hoping it's aluminum.
  13. DELETE since the posts below showed cheaper prices than what I found.
  14. Front site has a dovetail just like a CZ. I'm not sure if there's a screw that retains the front sight for the SDP though. Look carefully at the front fiber optic sight in this pic. You can see the dovetail.
  15. Thanks for the insight on Sphinx manufacturing. I'm guessing that the Sphinx Custom Shop will cater to the end user that wants to configure the SDP outside of what is standard configuration? For example, full size, steel upper, steel lower, steel grip with finger grooves, extended barrel, da/sa with safety and full ambi controls including ambi slide release, front/rear trits, Robar NP3+ coating.
  16. Still waiting with bated breath on "grab your popcorn" post. Thanks for the impromptu Q/A, Joe. Sorry OP for some of us hijacking your post.
  17. Dear God, thank you. That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I love CZs, but I love the Sphinx for being more than a refined CZ. I especially like that the SDP is a locking breach as opposed to a locking lug design, since I've personally seen worn locking lugs on one of my firearms after about 18,000 rounds. I like attention to detail and fit and finish. I cannot speak enough praises of my full size Accu-shadow, but my grail gun has always been a Sphinx. The Accu is just in second place for me, and I conceal carry it regularly. Maybe an appropriate analogy since both have Swiss pedigree, but a Sphinx to me is like a fine Swiss watch. I just hope Kriss manufactures steel framed, full sized ones too, though I wouldn't mind a titanium framed one either, However, my preference is steel. Tim did mention that the Sphinx Custom Shop would be great for discerning customers. I can't wait to place an order.
  18. More questions that I didn't get answers to from Tim at marketing. So I know that the Standard Model 3000 was expensive because no part was MIM. Everything was CNC machined, and then the gun was put together by hand and hand fitted. I liked the 3000 because of zero MIM parts and could justify the price. Tim mentioned to me that with the SDP, Kriss found a way to manufacture the guns in a more efficient manner, bringing down the cost. He didn't elaborate exactly on what that meant. I'm just going to assume that many pieces are now MIM. Is that correct? Basically, to me, the 3000 was the Rolls Royce of CZ clones. Fun tidbit. I read somewhere that Angus Hobdell himself would shoot a Sphinx if he could. That speaks volumes of the quality of a Sphinx.
  19. When will the full size, steel SDP be available? I would ask the same of the Standard Model 3000, but was informed that these are no longer in production, correct me if I'm wrong. Finally, when will the Sphinx Custom Shop be available? I want a full size, preferably Model 3000, but SDP will do, with DA/SA and safety, not decocker. Full ambi controls.

    Decocker or not?

Does USPA or IDPA require a hammer fully down on DA/SA? Or, can you put the hammer in half cock? Because if you can put the hammer in half cock position, I think that's the safest way, since you can just put your thumb between the hammer and pull the trigger in a safe direction. It will fall to the half cock notch.
  21. Yea, it's the same way on mine for the left side red "safety dot." I wonder if there's a way to remove that without removing the polycoat. I'm pretty sure I could repaint it better. lol
  22. I posted a video review of my Accu-shadow on the other CZ forums. It has the take down at around the 9 minute mark. I will probably get flamed since I broke a few safety rules in the vid, mainly sweeping myself with the muzzle. I knew the gun was empty as I always safety check it before handling it and did so off camera before setting up the camera. Even when I know a gun is empty, I will still safety check it before handling it, regardless if it is my firearm or someone else's. I should have safety checked it at the start of the vid as opposed to about 2.5 minutes into it. Must've been nervous since it was my first vid. Anyway, hope this helps. It's an unlisted vid. EDIT: FWIW, I disassemble mine the way trgt does. As far as lube, I have always loved Weaponshield because of its non-toxic nature. I just use "enough" lube. I don't run mine so wet that oil seeps out of every crevice. EDIT 2: I see a few posters here that also own an Accu-shadow. My question to you guys is regarding the guide rod bushing. I have the old style where there's barely any contact area between the barrel bushing and the lipped area of the guide rod bushing that it interfaces with. The barrel bushing is basically supposed to sit on a ledge created by the guide rod bushing to prevent the guide rod bushing from flying out. The newer bushings have a much more pronounced "ledge" and more substantial interfacing between barrel bushing and guide rod bushing. My question to the owners that have the old style like mine is if any of you have encountered any problems. My thinking is, the change must have been made for a reason. Basically, I have what looks like less than half a millimeter of space where my barrel bushing interfaces with my guide rod bushing.

    LEARN me sumpin!

Are you sure it's a 2014 model Shadow that you found locally? The 2014 models had one big change. They now come stock with the short reset disconnecter. This used to be a custom option. If the model is a 2013 or earlier, it will not have a short reset disconnector installed.
