cuzinvinny
I can't say that I've ever done something like that (yet ) but when I go to the range for practice and hit on a bunch of brass, I do consider it a good day, even if I couldn't hit the target from 10 yards. If I stumble on a pile where someone managed to have all their brass fall within a 5 foot radius I consider it a great day.
chirpy
A good day at the range is when the police have been there before you and picked up their brass and put it in boxes and forgot to take the boxes! YES, that did happen to me! Richard
Travtastik
At my club the non reloaders pick up there brass and leave it in the tables for the next guy. I have been luck a few time to find a stash I could use.
WrxGuy90
I can't say I've done gone on the brass hunt in the park or down the street. But I can sure tell you that practice days at the range, more then just my lane gets swept up and dumped into the brass bag

cuzinvinny
I've been a brass whore for longer than I can remember. It's like beating the house at the Casino. I may have to use Lumpygravy's method and start hanging out in the bad part of town looking for brass.

jib
The last time my wife and I went to the range, I start unloading the gear and notice she is not helping. I look around. She got out of the car at an emply bay and was out on the range looking for brass. I dared not say I trainer her well, but I love her intentions. Liferlance
I'll trade you a pile of .40 and 9mm for your .45 and 2.23! I police the BLM are I shoot at after a day and let everyone else know I'll clean their brass too. I have trash cans full of brass I don't shoot. Mliebs
I hate to admit this but my wife actually stopped shooting with me because I have to pick up my brass. In our hayday we would go through 2-3000 rounds a month and she would always help pick the brass up. One day at the range (American Shooting Center) in Houston, some smarta**, cop wannabe, range officer said "stop picking up the brass". Being my smarta** self I told him "this is my brass and I'm going to pick all of it up". We stared each other down, I picked up my brass, and that was it for my wife shooting. Anyway, no, I try not to look for brass when my wifes around. LOL

zaphar
In national parks, sure, all sorts of brass can be found there. When walking through other parks I catch myself looking for stuff not to step in...
dmd6x
My local metal recycling plant gives me $2 / lb for brass. I'll pick it up from anywhere, no matter what, even if its beat to hell or I have no intention of reloading it. Keep a nice big garbage can full of it in the garage, and take it down a couple of times a year for a nice $60-$100 contribution to the gear fund. Great way to get some extra money on the side without upsetting the family budget too much.
