dpeters8445
I saw that this question was asked in another thread, but I did not find an answer. This gun looks pretty sweet in the Springfield catolog. Does anyone know for sure if this gun is legal or not for Production in USPSA? Also, does anyone know the price? Thanks, Doug
TriggerT
I too thought this gun looked pretty sweet when I noticed in the Springfiled catalog, and had the same questions. Sorry to say, I don't have an answer to your questions, but I look forward to hearing from someone who does.
diehli
The Production list says "XD Models," but I'd check with USPSA before spending any dough.
Kingman
I want to see a picture of this gun. I keep hearing about it but can't find pics anywhere.
Chriss Grube
I talked to Robbie and he said it cost 1500+ and there is no way in hell that USPSA will let that thing into production. They had a regular XD on the display table and one with a reworked trigger. It was lighter than most open gun triggers.
diehli
it cost 1500+ Uh... riiiiight. Pass.
dpeters8445
I called Springfield up this mourning and unforchently Debbie from the custom shop wasn't in. The lady I talked was not sure if this gun is avalible yet or of the price. Hi cap 9 mags hold 15 rounds and are 29.95. You got to love that. I'll let you all know when I talk to Debbie. diehli
That's a ridiculous price. The .40 mags hold 15 just fine and you used to be able to get them from Kieslers for $16 a piece. Nothing like putting a big name on something to turn it from a $350 gun into a $1500 gun... same with mags.
TriggerT
Can't say for sure in this case, but usually manufactureres will quote the full retail price to you when you ask, and NOBODY in retail sells things for full retail. Could be the reason for the price difference, but that just a SWAG on my part.
Sestock
The gun is available as a custom package from the pro shop, I saw the price a few months ago and it was something like $700-800 worth of custom work to your gun. I don't know if they are going to offer it as a catalog item. Some parts of the package(bar-sto barrel, Milled Bo-Mar sight, Dawson Fiber Optic front sight, remolded frame with a high beavertail, under cut and mag well, a sweet trigger job, etc) Probably worth the money. I played with a few of them at the NRA show earlier this year, sweet guns. I really doubt that USPSA will allow them in production, to many external modifications to the frame. Rising Sight
Contact Springfield and request a Custom Shop catalog. They have pictures of all their custom guns in it.
dpeters8445
Make sure that you all are sitting down. I talked to the custom shop and Deb said that the XD Custom Pro retails for $ 2,195.00. I don't think that they will be selling very many at that price. Lead time is 6 to 8 months. racerba
in ordre for a gun to be allowed in production, the company has to produce a minimum of 500 per year. At that price, I don't think they will be selling too many of them to make the 500 minimum.
kdj
If they sell 499, then I'd buy one. They do look cool Kevin

At that price, I don't think they will be selling too many of them to make the 500 minimum. I think, for USPSA Production, the number is 2,000. But, that requirement appears to go away (officially) with the new rule book and the "approved gun list".
RIIID
I think I know where you can get everything on that gun except the grip mods for under $900 and a little more than what SA does offer. Rich
Gary Stevens
I'll back up what Rich said. I just bought one of his blasters and am very satisfied with it. I think next year will be even more fun than this year
