I can understand that, but those of us with SDBs would likey pony up the cash. I would rather spend $300 for a case feeder than buy a 550 or 650 and all the conversion kits and dies necessary for all my calibers.

I've got a couple of Square Deal B presses. ONe is setup for small primers, and one for large. I mostly load 38 super and 45ACP. ONe of them is the new style, with the powder rod, the other has the springs rapped around the powder bar. I love these presses, they are GREAT!!! Here's the problem... I can't get the case feeder working! I have no idea how to install it! I think I'm missing some pieces or parts that will make it attach and work properly. Can I get these parts from Dillon? Are there any machinists out there willing to make a few of the missing parts? Here's a list of the missing parts: Feeder Bowl collator disk collator motor Feeder Tube Case slider plunger Case slider track Case slider lever rod Mounting bracket Misc bolts, screws, or springs Can anyone help me? Hijacking Notice!! R.Elliott started it. I'll take it even further... Someone recently told me (here online) that no one has gotten the Montana Gold 121 IFP to run in their Gold Team. Is this true? I've run about 700 of them so far, without problems.

If you go to the Arizona, et al, GO EARLY. They issue tickets first-come first-serve, and there is a limited availability. I got lucky and only had to wait a couple of hours for my time slot, but others soon after me were scheduled for the shuttle boat 5 hours later. If it's not crowded, you'll still have a full day to do something else. If it is crowded, you won't kill all day standing around waiting.

Ted, is a difference between a Concealed Carry Permit and a License To Carry Firearms (LTCF)? IF so, what? From what I remembered (and just checked up on), PA is a shall issue state and a LTCF allows you to carry concealed. No license is required for open carry (by the state, local laws may differ). Just a curious PA X-Pat.

Here's one thing that will help general match enjoyment. NO TEAR-DOWN. I think we pay an extra $3 per shooter, but don't have to help tear down the gear. I LOVE IT! It's great to finish up and hurry home to a family activity without guilt of skipping the tear-down.

I don't count. Shooting open makes it a lot simpler to plan mag changes. I go 'da-da'. More importantly, I try to program a specific cadence. I have a problem remembering to shoot faster on closer targets and take more time on longer/harder shots. As I do my walk through, I plan my cadence (faster and slower) as I transition from target to target or array to array.

I drilled a bunch of holes (30-40) in a block of delrin. A 25/64 drill bit worked great for my 38 super. I put a socket head bit in my electric screw driver and suffed a chunk of rubber in the end. Fill the delrin block with loaded rounds, bullet down. With the electric screw driver and a marks-a-lot, I go down each row, spinning the shells with the screwdriver while holding the marker in place. I guess you could call it a hand-held single-sided vertical striping lathe.

Aside from the double charge possibility that Flex mentioned there is one other thing. With auto-indexing (SDB) you can have a handful of bullets in one hand, a handful of cases in the other so you don't have to grab for both each time. Without it, you have to keep one hand empty to index the shellplate or you wind up dropping stuff, making a mess and slowing yourself down even more. Not a huge deal though. R, If you've got one hand full of bullets and one hand full of cases, how do you pull the lever? I always thought that a foot petal would be a great mod, but the primer seats on the up-stroke.

I hope the USA scooter commuters don't take a lesson from their asian counterparts. In Taipei, the scooters are like swarms of insects, that swoup down on each intersection in great mass, splitting lanes, cutting intersections on sidewalks, pushing to the front of the line into the cross walk, and making left turns by turning right + U-turn. I'm sure some egg-head entomologist could do their doctural thesis on the the correlation between moped and insect swaming mentality.

I've often wondered if you could put some type of socket adapter on the pull-start spindle, and sell matching bits for electric drills. You could use the drill as an ad-hock starter motor. Probably too much liability for the manufacturer.

This happens to me sometimes. The primer punch doesn't clear the edge of the hole in the shell plate. It catches on the shellplate, and you hear a little snap. It flips the primers, sometimes landing them sideways or upside down. It can also cause the shell plate to snap a little. I've always fixed it by removing the punch, cleaning it a bit, then reinstalling, being careful to hold it down very tight as I tighten the screw. I use a small block of wood to help push it in against the spring. It hurts to use my finger.

If you are not going to load rifle cartridges, or are not going to add the case feeder, I think the SDB is better. Remember, the SDB uses only Dillon dies, but has auto indexing. The 550b can use any standard dies, but does not have auto indexing. I LOVE AUTO INDEXING.

Do you make money on the range fees or the ancillary services? A friend who owned a camera shop told me that he made very little money when selling a camera. He made his profit on the accessories, services, lessons, and supplies. Do you plan to have a full service gun shop? Will you run your gunsmith business out of it? Will you offer lots of classes that encourage people to buy your goods? I don't know how many gun shops are in Bend, and if they are any good. Maybe one of them could be talked into relocating into your new 'shooting center'. Also, don't forget about marketing. Many business are made or lost by marketing. You've got to get people in the door.

I'm always afraid of mixing up springs while testing. Anyone ever try to label them? Maybe put a mark on the end or file a notch in the first 1/2 a coil, or paint them, or dychem. I wonder if I spun them over a marker, getting as much coverage as possible, if it would stay. I guess during load/spring testing I can be diligent and keep them in their packages, but I'd love to have color coded system for switching between ISPC and Steel springs/loads.
