  1. Hello: try a lighter recoil spring and see if that cures the problem. Also go back to the stock magazine springs. Thanks, Eric
  2. Hello: Old style SVI magazine, 30 rounds reloadable and it does fit the gauge. Thanks, Eric
  3. Hello: Try 3.4 grains of Clean Shot with 124's. Should get you about 134PF. Thanks, Eric
  4. Hello: I would shoot one with a island barrel first to see if you like it. I did not like the feel of it in a couple of different setup that I shot. I also don't like super light slides for shooting major loads. Lastly like anything in an open pistol it depends on what you get used to until you try something else that is better. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hello: Look at the target not at the dot. Tape the front of your dot off and shoot with both eyes open. A plate rack is a good place to practice this. You will have to tune the gun to your load and shooting style. Double plug with ear plugs and muffs. Wear glasses that make the red dot pop for your eyes. That could be a red lens or even brown like I am using. Last thing is turn the dot off and shoot some close targets by just indexing off the scope and slide. Thanks, Eric
  6. Hello: My group size at 50 yards is about 4" off hand. I don't use a rest since I don't shoot any matches that require shots past 50 yards. When I did shoot carbine matches out to 125 yards I used 124 grain bullets since they were more accurate than the 115's. 147's dropped too much out there. The MPX is a soft shooter but shooting 160PF loads just does not work for what I do. Thanks, Eric
  7. Hello: I use 115grain bullets but not Zero's which are very good bullets. My load is 3.8 grains of Tite Group, Winchester small pistol primers and 1.140" OAL. It gives me the 138-141PF I like in my carbine barrel. 135-138 in my 8" barrel. Thanks, Eric
  8. Charles, did you ever get this figured out? Thanks, Eric
  9. Hello: You are using some of the best 38 powders out there. I would try small rifle and also the magnum pistol primers since you may be able to reduce your powder drop a little and get a better burn. I find Magnum pistol primers are hotter than small rifle primers when I have chronoed them over the years. That is with all Winchester primers. Thanks, Eric
  10. Hello: Send all those CBC brass cases my way. I will reload the s#!t out of them. Thanks, Eric
  11. Hello: I am using a Safariland with the USPSA kit installed on a Shooters Connection belt. Easiest way to get the holster at the correct position. TGO has a video on YouTube about his setup for production. Thanks, Eric
  12. Jim, I do load longer to 1.185" OAL and use 10mm magazines. You will be able to get to the 3lb trigger pull with no problem with the series 80 parts installed. Thanks, Eric
  13. Hello: I have loaded tons of it with no problem also. I did have a 38 special Dillon die that the carbide ring fell out when loading and they sent me one. I sent the old one back to them for them to see what happened. The new one I got did the same thing after about 1000 rounds and again they sent me a new one. They must have had a bad batch is what they told me since the last one has loaded over 10,000 with no problems. This is on a RL1050. Thanks, Eric
  14. Hello: 17lb ISMI mainspring, 14lb ISMI recoil spring for major, 12.5lb ISMI recoil spring for minor. Dawson IPSC magwell and use the series 80 filler and adjust the sear spring. That should make it a great shooter. Thanks, Eric
  15. Hello: Slides are kinda tricky to make so I think that is why some companies are just buying them from the same supplier which are the ones that are breaking in the same spot. This problem has only shown up in the past couple of years. Not sure if the slides are even made here or not. Thanks, Eric
  16. Hello: The problem is not the machining of the slide since other slides have been breaking in the same place even limited slides. Crappy material is the problem since you can see the grain properties that make up the slide. These are not the same material that the old slides were made from. I have not had one feeding issue with my pistol at all. The slide will get replaced when I rebarrel it in another 40,000 rounds or so. The pistol has over 30,000 rounds on it so far. Thanks, Eric
  17. Hello: I am running 171-173PF 115's and HS-6 with one of my comps. Runs 100%. Thanks, Eric
  18. Hello: I am running one right now that has the piece missing from the same spot. There have been a bunch of slides that have cracked in the same spot on different pistols around here. I think it was a bad batch of slides coming from the same manufacturer that many builders are using. My slide has about 6,000 rounds on it with the piece missing with no problems. Thanks, Eric
  19. Charles, do some measuring on the Zev slide compared to the factory slide to see if they are different. I would agree the trigger bars are heat treated and are very hard so be careful if you try to bend it. Thanks, Eric
  20. Charles, check to see if the sleeve is installed all the way in. Also check the striker to see if it is similar to the original and not a later gen. If you can do some measuring to see if it is like the original Glock slide. I should be at Cherokee this weekend if you want me to look at it. On a side note my Brownells RMR slide is working great on my Gen 2 G17. I just thought of something else change the striker spring and recoil spring to stock and see if it works them. Thanks, Eric
  21. Hello: I cut down a Seattle slug for my Gen 2. I may do the lead shot JB Weld also if the slug does not work out. Not sure if Robin makes one for the Gen 4's or not. He may have some seconds that you could reshape. Thanks, Eric
  22. Hello: I am going to use a tungsten guide rod and a heavy slug in the grip. Heavy base pads should be all I need in my G17. Thanks, Eric
  23. Hello: I think it will depend what power factor your loads are. 130PF 45acp loads will need lighter spring and buffer setup. Since you have the parts for your 9mm why not try them in your 45 setup? I am planning on running a heavier buffer spring for my 40 setup with the same buffer as my 9mm. Thanks, Eric
  24. Hello: I just use the ISMI springs for everything. They last for years and are made from great material. Thanks, Eric
  25. Hello: You can also make a small sleeve to go over the springs to make one long spring. We did that years ago with AR15 mags. I did a India made MP5 magazine last year that worked great with the stock spring. Thanks, Eric
