  1. exact same thing happened to me at the Nationals. The CRO gave me the hit + a No Shoot. After he explained it to me, it made sense.
  2. Call Bob and let him know the situation. I accidently smacked one of his front sights on a port. Told Bob what an idiot I was. Bought a new one from him. He told me to bring the broken one to him and he would replace it No Charge. Can't say he'll do it for you but he is a great person to deal with. That's one reason I purchased a new Limited gun from him.
  3. It is hard to determine my favorite stage at Area 2 this year. I sort of liked the stage where you needed to hold on to the handles and shoot with one hand. However, I did witness a young pup do it without holding on . If only I were still mobile enough. Great shooting.
  4. Do yourself a big favor. Buy the 650 and never look back. B.E. as well as Dillon are great people to deal with. thats why I have 3 of them.
  5. Chuck A I must commend you for putting up with us. I for one appreciate you posting on the topic. And if i remeber right, you were the one who informed us of this potential rule change before us. Thank You.
  6. VR28 using Radar Path. I was told by Oakley the VR28 was designed for shooters.
  7. I also use a Comp-Tac kydex with my set up. 610 with 3 7/8 barrel
  8. Darn it. I knew I should of kept my 8.5 New york trigger for my Glock. I am new to USPSA compared to many of you. However I have competed with the other guys since the beginning. Once they changed the rules concerning revolvers, holsters, etc there was a mass exoudus from that organazation. Many, like myself, began enjoying USPSA. The point is at least the AD's are listening to your concerns. Many have already posted acknowledging how WE feel. God bless America and USPSA.
  9. Albert If you go to www.policeone.com (caliberpress) there is some articles backing competition shooting related to police work on and off duty. Of course the higher ups are concerned about budget but you may be able to find an article/s on this web sight to assist you in getting enough backing. I think your main objective is getting the officers more involved and committed. Just my 2 cents worth.
  10. I have used both holsters. Never felt comfortable with the Ghost holster after my gun fell out (locked) while taping targets. To me the DAA holster has a better locking system. I am able to turn 180 degrees with the lock off without any problem. Just my 2 cents worth.
  11. I have used both Wilson and Tripp mags in my 9mm. After many problems trying to seat the Wilson mags when fully loaded I strictly use nothing but Tripp. I had a few problems with Tripp not locking the slide back but after speaking directly with Virgil problems solved. Virgil's customer sevice rates right on top with Dillon
  12. I am with sirveyr. 10+1. Just to make them mad.
  13. Military is a great suggestion. Getting a degree is also excellent and strongley recommended. Another job to consider is law enforcement. Some departments give the officers unlimited amounts of ammo. Plus, at this time a great write off on income tax. Concentrate on a degree for the long run.
  14. I use 231 for my 45 ACP. A little dirty but meters well thru a 650. 5.0 grns for moly 230 bullets reach a 172 P.F. 5.3 grns for 230 M.G. reach 168 P.F. Of course your gun may be different than mine but it should get you close.
  15. +1 on Brazos. Can't wait for my Limited to be completed. End of April.
  16. I voted to buy a new gun. Why? Getting a new gun is like getting a puppy for Xmas. Can't be beat. Now for the real reason. I too was an IDPA shooter for many years. A buddy of mine finally talked me into shooting a USPSA match. Haven't looked back since. I purchased an STI Eagle 40 cal with a bushing. It is legal for IDPA (ESP), Limited and Limited 10. Hard to beat.
  17. We have a few shooters show up to an IDPA Match with the same intent. Instead of making them mad and not wanting to show up again, we collect their $$$ and score it as a USPSA category. Keeps everyone happy and the club still made a few dollars.
  18. This is a great match. Usually the same R.O.'s as Area 2. Just as organized as Area 2. Wouldn't miss this one.
  19. Check out Bob's magwell from Brazos Custom Gun Works. It rides a bit high for me but I do like it.
  20. Great idea. Been there done that before
  21. Area 2 is a great match. I seem to chrono slower at home than I do at Rio Salado. As everyone else mentioned, I load a little hotter than usual heading to a major match. One other thing to keep in mind. Make sure you gauge your magazines. They will check them at Area 2. A buddy of mine had skateboard tape in his base pads. The magazines wouldn't fit in the gauge with the skateboard tape applied.
  22. I have used several of the competition holsters. One day a fellow shooter showed up at the range and let me mess with his new Double Alpha holster. I liked it so much I ordered one the following week. The Double Alpha is by far the best I have came across. Now if they could lower the price of the mag pouches I'd be all over it.
