I’m late on the conversation but I shoot the 135 gr 9mm bullets. Smoke isn’t too bad but I load with Vectan GM3 powder. Definitely sign up for their notices. They do run discounts with free shipping. Would definitely recommend them.

2nd update. Got replacement magnet sent. They actually sent me 2. I would strongly recommend purchasing extra magnets to throw in your bag. Going to the range tomorrow to test out.

Update. Sent out the wrong parts. I emailed a picture of what they sent me and explained once again what I needed. They immediately emailed me back and apologized for the mistake. They re-sent the parts the same day as my e-mail. Their customer service is great as far as communicating.

I pre-ordered one for my Rival S. Adjusted everything and took it to the range to practice. After a few dozen draws the gun fell out. After further investigation I noticed it was missing one of the magnets. Contacted them and they’re sending out a replacement. Haven’t got it yet but hopefully real soon.

That’s what I was hoping for. Just wondered if DAA had an insert that would work. May be looking at the Ghost set up and/or Scorpion.

Thanks for the input. Haven’t purchased a Rival yet but was wondering what mag pouches to purchase when I do.
-
What is everyone using for mag pouches on the Rival S for USPSA? Was hoping DAA had something available.

Summit just had a sale going on. 18% off plus free shipping on case (1000) quantities. I use these as well as other competitors bullets and must like the results from them.

A fellow shooter brought a 5” to the range today during a USPSA match. After the match he allowed me to run a stage with it. Gun felt good in my hand and of course little recoil. Reset of the trigger was nice although it could of used a trigger job. He did inform me that he had to return the guns (He purchased a 5” and 4”) to Springfield because the front sight fell off both guns within the 1st 100 rds on both guns. He also mentioned the guns would not go into battery. He filed down the feed ramps a bit on the mags. After that he said he’s had no issues with both guns. I think once Springfield gets those issues fixed I may find one in my safe.

My STI Trojan will run 10 rd mags with no problem. I talked to Aaron at Tripp and he set me up. If my memory is correct you need to ask for Tripp Corey Mags. I don’t believe they show them on their web site.

I've seen them drilled-tapped and set screws placed on them in the past. Might call Bob @ Brazos and see if he might have a better suggestion

SS restrictions, the hill the division will die on?
CHARLES D replied to obsessiveshooter's topic in USPSA/IPSC Rules
I agree with the OP on changes made in SS. Many companies are modifying their slides and installing bull barrels. As far as Production, I feel the powers to be should put a survey out to membership allowing Production going to 15 rds. -
I believe Cajun Gun Works have them in stock. I just ordered a bunch of small parts from them and was considering getting a mainspring plug for my Shadow 2

Phoenix area advice, january-feb 2023
CHARLES D replied to motosapiens's topic in Travel, Locations, Ranges, etc.
If you’re in the White Mountains area (North-East AZ) (Show Low) we run a steel match the 1st Sunday of the month. A USPSA match the 2nd Sunday of the month and another USPSA match the 4 Saturday of the month. Of course in in January/February we could have snow on the ground. Everyone is welcomed to come and enjoy the fresh mountain air with us. -
Gas prices and matches
CHARLES D replied to Chappytactical's topic in Travel, Locations, Ranges, etc.
I was planning on going on vacation next month and hitting two local matches while out of state. Due to gas prices in that state I can’t see spending the extra money. Vacation canceled -
USPSA Limited - Shadow 2. Start with hammer down or safety on?
CHARLES D replied to obx-shadow2's topic in USPSA/IPSC Rules
I had the same question a few months ago and was unable to find a rule about the question. So I emailed Troy at (rules@uspsa.org). Troy said Rule 8.1.2.4 covers this question. Also, Rule 8.1.2.3 (Appendix D) Selective Action covers the question. This is straight from Troy. -
Win 244 and coated bullets, hi tek alternatives
CHARLES D replied to datderecelltech's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
I’ve used a few different hi tek bullets in my shadow 2. Bravos leaded up after a 100 rds. NB reloading worked great but they are now out of business . Blue bullets have worked out good. I have shot thousands of Bear Creek with no issues however my last purchase I noticed some leading. I have an order in for Summit bullets to try. For me I’m using Berry’s bullets with no leading problems. -
Thanks for the information.

I ordered a ratcheting belt from RHT. In my opinion the belt is not stiff enough. Looked at the belt and it has the m2inc ratchet system on it. Talked to the folks at m2inc and they helped me order one through their web page. Going to put it on a Shooters Connection belt and see how it works.

I’ve started running across this stepped brass at a local outdoor range. My 650 definitely doesn’t like to deprime it.
-
How has your belt config changed with the new USPSA rules?
CHARLES D replied to uhmeebuh's topic in Gear & Accessories
I moved my Production and Single Stack setup forward an inch. Added a Divtec magnet to both setups. -
What to do if rudy project can't make your prescription?
CHARLES D replied to Obvious's topic in Gear & Accessories
I’ve used Decot prescription glasses for years. They offer different shades of inserts for different situations of light. Great customer service. -
Good Speedloader for 2011/double stack 1911?
CHARLES D replied to MuayThaiJJ's topic in 1911-style Pistols
Make sure it’s the UpLula brand. The knockoffs (Sold on Amazon, etc) are junk.
