  1. Plated bullets can be crimp sensitive, what is your crimp? Pull a bullet and check for a groove around the bullet from the case mouth; if you have one, you most likely have too much crimp. What crimp die are you using? The Lee Factory Crimp die can swage the bullet when used improperly and that can cause accuracy issues like you are experiencing. I use a crimp of .421 in .40 cal.
  2. Use the Lee FCD with caution to just remove the bell. It is pretty easy to swage a coated lead bullet with the FCD; when that happens your accuracy will suffer.
  3. Yes, try calling him. I believe he was having some problems with his web hosting service.
  4. Supply and demand; we may not agree with it but it was worth it to someone. If the importer would bring more of them in maybe they wouldn't fetch these ridiculous prices.
  5. Clays, WST, N310, ETR-7...use what you can get and march on.
  6. Does it look like it will flip? The TTI's did that occasionally on mine and the spring had to be tweaked a bit.

    CGW hammer question

Yes. You can get a factory hammer from CGW that they have recut the hammer hooks on and remain production legal.
  8. If you stayed with with one gun long enough and did some dry fire it would look that way eventually. On a serious note that came out looking very nice. I really like the slide serrations.
  9. I have had several failures to fire lately with them (5 in a 200rd session). They have all been through a case gauge and inspected for high primers. The ones that have failed to fire have had an identical primer strike as the spent cases on the ground that did fire. I am going back to CCI.
  10. I did it and I am glad I did. I love the 650; I'll love it more when I add a Mr Bulletfeeder.
  11. 3.8gr at 1.135" OAL with a Hi-Tek coated bullet from Leatherhead Bullets, .379" crimp, gets me 138 PF out of a 9mm Trojan. It is soft and accurate.
  12. ETR-7 is good stuff and it is AVAILABLE! I have been using it in 9mm and .45ACP and have been very pleased with the results. I need to get around to working up a load for .40.
  13. http://www.hawktecharms.com Call these guys I saw a 9mm Eagle there last week.

    9MM 1911 Loads

3.8 gr of ETR-7 http://www.expansion-industries.com/ETR7-PISTOL-POWDER-p/etr7-4lb.htm and a 147 gr bullet from these guys http://www.leatherheadbullets.com/products.php OAL of 1.135, crimp of .379 out of a 9mm Trojan makes 138PF and feels very soft.
  15. http://www.leatherheadbullets.com;feels just as nice as Clays, makes 175 PF and it is available. My favorite powder used to be VV N310, but availability has become an issue. The ETR-7 has become my preferred powder because it is available.
  16. The more you buy the cheaper it gets and it is available.
  17. I use the same technique to apply Hornandy One Shot.
  18. http://www.expansion-industries.com/ETR7-PISTOL-POWDER-p/etr7-1lb.htm Try this stuff. I recently took a gamble and picked some up so far I have been very pleased. It is excellent in my 9mm Trojan with 147gr bullets from these guys: http://www.leatherheadbullets.com 3.8 gr gave me a 137 PF and it felt very nice, similar to Titegroup with the same bullet. Currently I am using it in 45 with 200gr SWC from Leatherhead Bullets at 5.6 gr (175PF) and it has become my preferred powder. When I spoke to them they assured me that they had plenty of it and had a good steady supply. I liked it enough to order 48lbs of it.
  19. http://www.jemguns.com http://www.elitewarriorarmament.com I have no first hand experience with either of these shops but they have stellar reputations.
  20. http://www.benstoegerproshop.com/DAA-Racer-Single-Stack-Magazine-Pouch-p/daa-racer-ss.htm Here is another option to order them from.
  21. Why don't you ask Rich and follow his advice. He is a GM and one of the best 1911 'smiths in the game.
