very sweet man... let me know how you like the SDC sight tracker. I always felt my sight tracker was a little too heavy out front and want to eventually make a SDC version.

for my old IDPA gun, I had STI 126mm mags with Dawson wedge pads and grams 11 coil springs and followers and I could get a reloadable 17 rounds in all of them easy.

If by chance the slide was made by SVI, then it should have an interchangeable breech face and you could then convert it properly... if not, just buy another slide.

Also, I tried a Dawson +2 on a 126mm .40 mag and I could not get it to seat in the gun. The pad came up too high ( + 1 was worse) and it made contact with the bottom of the grip (with and without a magwell). The best bet would be to sell them and get 140's, or use them to shoot IDPA.

read the start very carefully as well... unless otherwise stated, start with the slide locked back as well then insert mag and let the slide close... begin shooting, just another little bit of time you can save.

Dawson does not make the +2 pads anymore, but they are much longer than the +1. Where you would slide the tube into the bottom (almost) of the +1, you would slide the tube lips into the top of the +2. Easily gives another round over a +1+, but would only be legal in open or with a really old short version of a 140 (like a 130).

+1 for Caylor, but the short notice might cost you extra if he can even do it right now.

Well, I had a Dawson +2 laying around and I put it on my STI 140 (not sure exact length) with a grams 11 coil spring and follower. I get 25 rounds in it, could be reloadable... not TIGHT, but snug enough to need to seat it well. 24 is perfectly reloadable. I have another STI 140 that has a Dawson +1, and an SV follower and spring that gets me 23 reloadable. My 170 has a grams 13 coil and follower, and a Dawson + 1, gets 28 +1. None of these are tuned, and they are 38 Super.

congrats!!! I too quit smoking, but for me I only smoked for 10 years and quit about 4 & 1/2 years ago. I did not use the patch, gum, or anything else. Like you, I used will power and yes it hurt, yes I was easily annoyed, and yes it was hard. I am very glad I am done with it though... Just this weekend I allowed myself to smoke a cigar for the first time since I quit and I was surprised to find that I was able to enjoy it (no inhale) and still not want a cigarette. I won't smoke a cigar again for a few more years most likely... but it was nice to discover that I am able to keep them separate and no longer have the urge to smoke cigarettes. Congrats again, and it does get easier.

That was some of the funniest stuff I have ever read. I was crying at work, people thought something was wrong with me.

Also check to make sure there are no cracks in the plastic portion of the grip. That can also cause those issues.

Well, I made B in limited... and promptly traded the gun for an open gun. I am proud to have made it there, but the dark side was calling and I like it better there. Time to start over again and try to work my way to GM in open, should only take a decade or so.

I have STI tubes with Dawson +1 (not SNL) and the 11 coil grams springs and followers. I can get 20 in each mag, not tuned, but they were not reloadable. I had one SVI tube that was 20 reloadable and they all worked 100%. I trimmed the follower and the gun never locked back, no need to touch the slide stop or modify the gun. My buddy bought the HSMITH mags and he gets 20 reloadable (I think, might be 21) in every one of them and they run 200%.

well, I cannot find my kitchen scale at the moment... but mine (parkerized loaded model) with a SVI magwell (aluminum), trigger, and aluminum MSH is 2.4lbs on the bathroom scale. I can tell you that the aluminum magwell and MSH are lighter than just the stock MSH (ILS) that came off the gun. The SVI trigger is the same as the SA one or lighter.

My Springfield .45, still needs a few things but here it is for now. I plan to get the brazos trigger kit for it, as well as Brown wide ambi's, and possibly get it tri-topped before it gets refinished in black .

Usually lake Lewisville... sometimes Hubbard though.
