  1. I don't have a ton of spare parts that I carry to a match. Only a few springs, and extra fiber optic. I do however carry an extra 2011 to every match as a backup gun. I figure it will be far easier if all I have to do is switch guns.
  2. very nice work, and sweet blasters! Here are my two current guns, I did both of mine as well.
  3. If the star is not spinning when you start, start at the top and transition to keep it as still as possible. If it is spinning when you begin like the Double tap twins, pick a plate at bottom (4 o'clock if spinning counter-clockwise, 7 o'clock for clockwise) and let them come to your site. On spider monkey last march, I ran it in 13.47 and came in 19th out of 122 shooters on that stage. I was super happy about that stage, even did it with a broken finger from 2 stages before that. And I am a C shooter in Lim.
  4. throw the mag tube in your brass tumbler and let it run overnight... see if that helps as it will clean it throughly inside and out.
  5. Good luck breaking them in before area 4 Lee, if they are like my new SV, they are TIGHT as can be...
  6. Yeah, we are going to try and avoid that! As for the lake, I will still be out cavorting around most of the weekend, I will just shoot first, then drive straight there. Thanks Jim, yours is dead sexy too!
  7. TacBlack: The gun came with the blue trigger from the factory, but the ICE magwell was taken off the Edge, the stainless magwell on the Edge now came with the SVI. Splashdown: The receipt and the barrel accuracy card both say it is the AET barrel, but it does not have the TiN coating. I believe they still do it, but this one does not have it (yet, may take it there and have it done depending on $). BNorth: I am going to try to be there this Sunday and will be shooting this gun if I can make it there. With Memorial day this weekend, I may be at my uncle's lake house doing the family thing at Texoma, if not, I will be shooting.
  8. They make almost all of them to order, and the wait time I was quoted a few weeks ago is about 5 months right now (shorter in the winter). I bought this one from www.speedshooter.com for $2795 shipped NIB. Yes, it does have the triglide trigger system in it. I don't have a gauge, but I don't think it could be more than a 1lb trigger.
  9. Have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but I can say this. The difference between SVI and STI can be easily felt and seen. The trigger on my edge is nice, the trigger on the SV is insanely nice. Things like how perfectly the grip safety is blended, how incredibly tight the gun is, just the overall fit and finish. Don't get me wrong, my STI is a great gun, but it is seriously the difference between a Ford and a BMW (not knocking the ford).
  10. just picked it up Friday night... enjoy.
  11. YEAH buddy...pretty lady... Nice... she needs to lean into it though.
  12. It really is not that bad, pretty easy once you see how it comes apart. I too was reluctant at first, but now I usually completely break down and clean it every 400 rounds, with normal frame/slide/barrel cleanings every 200. Don't worry about it, you really won't screw it up so long as you don't dremmel anything. You can also click here to see how it all works. http://www.m1911.org/STI1911animation2.htm Now, go fourth and clean thy weapon!
  13. Either she gets the Kimber, new snowmobile, etc... or you could get a divorce. I think the former is far cheaper in the long run. A guy comes home on the day before his 20th anniversary and asks his wife what she want as a present. She replies " a divorce", so he drops his head and mumbles to himself all pissed off and the wife asks what is wrong with that? He replies, "I had not planned on spending that much".
  14. I changed it on each score sheet, sticker, and the sheet outside the scoring trailer as instructed... Hopefully it will get entered into the USPSA system correctly!
  15. So you are the one who beat me... congrats man, I know I shot my best, so you must have done great!
  16. You mean C Limited? I don't think my Edge is legal in production...
  17. I placed in U Limited? I am a C class now, and I changed it on every form as instructed! They better have made the change in their systems. I am happy to have gotten a trophy, but I really hope it was for C class.
  18. How did you find that out? I still need to know how I did...
  19. That is me in the background, wearing the blue shirt... Kick ass... I am in a picture with Manny and Dave! Also, the young guy in the black shirt in the background is Nick Neel, a 14yr old who can not only smoke half the shooters there, but he was the RO for stage 4.
  20. It was a really good match and I had a great time. Not too hot or cold, a little windy with the occasional sprinkle. Stages were good, well thought out, and a little of everything. I managed to get out of there with no procedurals, mikes, or no-shoots! Overall until my last stage I was really happy with my performance, I hope it was good enough for a trophy. Does anyone know if they will post scores from today at all anywhere or simply wait until Sunday for the final results before posting anywhere but there?

    Lucky

    It will buff out...
  22. Put it in the dishwasher, let it dry throughly and hook it back up good as new...
  23. I bought an Edge with swenson's on it and I hated them... I have Brown wide ambi on my other STI and I love them. I had my Swenson's replaced today by a set of browns that I had Mike Caylor install. There were a few things about them I did not like, first, I could not get them damn things off, I kid you not, they were TIGHT... Every time I hit the mag release, my right index knuckle would knock them on safe. The fit and finish was not very good on them, and I felt it spread my hand a little too wide. I keep my thumb on the pad, but I never get torn up by the slide, and I don't feel like I need the shield. My $.02
