  1. I like how the frame is even molded to accept the barrel in the grooves. Makes it much cooler. Took me a second to see where the trigger shoe connects fully haha
  2. Because they can't be found--be nice to see one up close one of these days. I've been curious to see any update but haven't found anything online.
  3. Gun looks like a laser trumpet lol
  4. Geez, I actually like it. Think it's cool. Grip looks like it might be big for my hands but I like the gun's finish. And the Tiger King would LOVE it lol.
  5. thank you. I was at the range this morning and I already see a difference here--with limited gun I feel like I'm looking/focused at the target as my shot breaks and when doing with the rts2 I am looking for the dot and then match it to the target, which feels slower right now. Is that what you are talking about?
  6. I've been shooting Limited and just got an Open gun to start in that division. It came with a rts2 6moa. I already have a 1moa SRO, 3moa Venom, and 6moa Viper that I use on various range guns and after looking through them all and playing with them thinking about uspsa, the difference that seems the most important to me is the size of the shell/lens surface (or whatever the proper name is) that I have to look through. Seems like big window to look through is key, but that doesn't seem to factor much into the discussion here. Is that just a given that I should use one with a big window or no?
  7. I hear ya. We came to MI from CA and it’s been refreshing.

    CZ TS 2

Judging by CZ's websites, it doesn't seem to be soon. CZ's European site CZ TS 2 series (czub.cz) only lists 9mm model available in three versions (standard, racing green, deep bronze), while their US site CZ TS 2 | CZ-USA only lists the 9mm model and only in the standard version. As a side note, based on the description, the Deep Bronze version has replaced the "Orange" designation. So, instead of coming out with a "TS2 Orange", they now call it TS2 Deep Bronze. The Racing Green is the standard model with added thumb rest, shadow 2 mag release, and height-adjustable rear sight. I have the standard model and put CZ TS adjustable sights on and mags got extended base pads and spring kits, all from CZC. I absolutely love the gun. Trigger was 1lb 10oz out of the box.
  9. I actually looked at buying a Caspian double-stack-based gun because I have small-ish hands and was told that they are a little smaller in circumference than some others, so I would be interested in hearing about experiences with them.
  10. Just bought this Sunday and it gets shipped out today to my FFL. I spent the last two months looking for an Open gun. Never shot Open before (I shoot Limited with Bul SAS II and CZ TS2) so started research from scratch and got chance to shoot two 2011-styles and a Czechmate. Looked at Bul SAS II UR, Honcho, and went into possibility of ordering Venom, Carne, Nevermiss, Brazos, Rafferty, CK, Infinity and then Prasky and Doug Jones because I'm in MI. They all look really nice, seem to be of very good quality, and each brand had multiple recommendations. For someone new like me, trying to develop criteria to narrow down choices can be a bit overwhelming. An opportunity came up to buy a used Infinity and feel good about the purchase. I don't think I got the bling that some of us girls want, but I feel comfortable with the build quality, especially after Infinity happily chatted with me for 20 minutes last week when I called with the serial number of the gun and asked about its history and what to expect.
  11. 6lb is what PT sells with their Honchos for Major EDIT: apologize, just saw that someone else already mentioned this
  12. What about if you put Kevrend in touch with your buddy so he can get some insight into how to make it run well?
  13. It does look better now. I played with the RDS mounting position on my Scorpion and found that I liked it better when it is closer to above my grip versus more forward.
  14. @jrdoran I noticed the skateboard tape on the frame--seems like the positioning is for left-handed shooter. Or something else?
  15. I thought about that. For the difference between 9mm and 40 at 180 PF, does 9mm produce more pressure relative to 40 at a given PF (in this case, 180)? In other words, how is a 180 PF in 9mm (124gr at 1450fps) more potentially harmful to a functioning gun than 180 PF in 40 (180gr at 1000fps) holding other things equal (frame, slide, etc)?
  16. I just looked up Winchester white box 180gr 40S&W and velocity is 1020fps (data from Winchester's own site), which means it's 183.6 PF--which is above the 180 PF discussed in this thread. That would be odd if someone was unsure about shooting factory ammo in their gun, wouldn't it? While 180 PF might be hotter than we like for uspsa, it should be perfectly fine to shoot, right?
  17. I've got a 1moa SRO and a 3moa Venom on my RFPO guns and it surprised me how close the dots look in size. I'm not even sure that I can tell the difference.

    I Need Some Loctite

another vote for blue loctite. Works excellent if I let it sit/cure for 12 hrs (overnight) and is removable. Only exception is in areas where there is heat as it seems to weaken the blue version. To remove grip screws that had been blue-loctited, I used a hairdryer to heat up the area and it helped to weaken bond.
  19. Bul has two different versions of thumb rests on URs--v1 and v3 (v2 is discontinued). Version 3 is set at a steeper angle and fits my personal grip better. Version 1 has me reaching out too far on the gun to be comfortable. That's why I'll second StefVanHauwe's recommendation for "the right thumb rest, not just any."
  20. I exchanged emails with Tiffany a week ago re: Honcho wait time and she said 30-week current wait, so that is consistent with your 28-week wait. I would love to buy a Honcho but geez that wait. That kills this whole season for Open, which is why I'm exploring other options to see what else is available (Bul SAS UR, or ??)
  21. Another vote for CZC extended base pads (and CZC spring/follower kit). I use them for my TS2, and CZC recommends when using those base pads in 9mm TS mags to also use CZC spring/follower kit. Have worked 100% in the short time I've been using them. Loads to 23 for 140mm in Limited minor.
  22. I just checked and there is not any movement at all in the one I have. I bought the frame separate from the upper and with the frame I received two shims with a note (see pic). You can see that the two shims are still in the bag--I put mine together and it was tight with no play at all so I figured that I didn't need them.
  23. Didn't you have a uspsa yesterday at Houghton Lake? My husband almost went but ended up shooting a steel challenge match Saturday instead. Hadn't heard about Chain O'lakes so I'll look it up now. thank you!
