  1. Just recieved this from Shootin D. For those of you who can't make the Texas Open, Alpha-MikE WILL host a match this Sunday. We've got the greatest shooters in the state -- which is another reason why our matches rock! Since we've missed the last THREE months due to rain, expect this makeup match to be a wild one. This Sunday, just North of San Antonio, at our beautiful Cedar Ridge Range. And because of the Texas Open we're not expecting a huge turnout, so we should be finished before the day really heats up. 9:30 sign up. Match begins at 10:00. Hope to see you there. Art
  2. Glad to see you got it working. I'm thinking of converting a little Citizen list printer to operate off battery so that I can hook it up to my CED chrono. Just need time----just need time---------- One of these days I'll actually look at the printer!!! Ha! Art
  3. The Alpha Mike match is on for this weekend. Jeff Schumaker and crew will be doing setup and I will be doing sign up. If anyone would like to help with setup you can meet us at 8AM at the west gate. The west gate is about 600 yards west of the main entrance to Cedar Ridge Range. Hope to see everyone there for some fun stages. Art
  4. If the data coming from the chrono is serial data (EIA232) you should be able to connect it directly to the PC serial port. This site should show how to wire up a serial cable. Most devices only require 3 wires, TX data, DTR, ground. The Transmit wire from the chrono would go to the receive pin of the serial port. Normally you would only need TX from the chrono going to pin 2, DTR goin to pin 4 and ground going to pin 5. That's assuming a 9 pin serial connector on the PC. http://www.camiresearch.com/Data_Com_Basic...ml#anchor242192 If the data coming from the chrono is TTL levels you will need the MAX232. This link will get you the datasheet for the MAX232. It should help. http://datasheets.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/MAX220-MAX249.pdf HTH Art
  5. Texas Steel is having their match this Saturday at Cedar Ridge. Marisa's match is always Steel Challenge. Art
  6. Alpha Mike has been using the attached score sheet with good success. It is on legal size. When we tried to put it on 8.5X11 the printing was too small to use. Randy Ikerman was the designer. HTH Art Edit to add: I tried to upload the XL spreadsheet but it wouldn't let me. Alpha_Mike_Scoresheet.pdf
  7. I ordered 5K WSR from Cabelas just the other day. They said they were backordered 3 to 4 weeks. So much for that! Art
  8. Great info! Just ordered mine. That will make 7. Good to find out before the sale was over. Thanks. Art
  9. I don't know but we're fixin' to find out with the hot weather that's coming. Art
  10. I had a similar problem with my 9 open. Turned out the feed lips on my mags on my factory mags were too wide and the ejected round was hitting the new round that popped out of the mag. I had the mags tuned and that solved the problem. HTH Art
  11. Years ago when I lived in Houston I got called for criminal and 2 months later for civil courts. That was interesting. Art
  12. That's the best laugh I've had in a while. Need to get one of those mats. Art
  13. My Elite Match 9mm does the same thing. Real handy. And no, you don't have to hit the slide release while inserting the new mag. If you insert the mag real easy it won't drop the slide but then you're not sure that the mag is seated properly. Art
  14. I don't shoot major in my 9mm match but I do in my S_I Open. I have been using 124 Montana Gold CMJ's, once fired brass, WSR Primers and 7.8gr of Trublue. Makes about 170pf. The primers show a little flattening but no stress on the cases. I tried the Zero 124's but the Montana Golds seem to perform better (may be my imagination). Since the WSR primers are impossible to find I bought some Wolf primers to try. I use the same bullets and primers in the 9's for my Match but I reduce the Trublue to 5.8gr. Made 130pf when checked at the last IDPA match that I was at. HTH Art
  15. I have a 5.5" Bull barrel 22/45 with the mag safety removed, trigger work and a BSA Red dot. It likes CCI Mini Mags the best. Art
  16. I have a match and have the same problem. I took it to the local gunsmith that has worked on a lot of CZ's. He took it out and test fired about 100 rounds through it and said that the problem never showed up. His suggestion was that I was not letting the trigger off far enough to reset. That did not work because I had the same problem yesterday at an IDPA match. It only happened once but it is enough to be aggravating. The trigger on my Match is set at about 2.5#. The gun shoots like a dream. If you find anyone that can solve this problem let me know. Art
  17. CR Speed WSM2 for Limited & Open. Bladetech for ESP.
  18. I had the same problem. I mounted an inspection mirror on the back leg of the 550 and pointed it down so that I could see it when I sat on the stool. Works great. Art
  19. I picked up an RCBS ChargeMaster 1500 to replace my old Hornady balance. The 1500 is wall powered, stabilizes almost immediately and maintains a stable condition for as long as it is on. It does not power itself off which is an aggravation on some scales. I highly recommend the 1500. If I recall, it cost about $140 at the local Sportsman's Warehouse. Art
  20. I can't even try it. I'm still running Win 2K! Maybe it's time for an upgrade. Still, Win2K is solid. Art
  21. Go Jake!!!!!! You too Jamie.
  22. I've had one of the first LCP's for about 4 months. I've only put about 150 rounds through it though. As far as operation goes it has been flawless. To me it shoots softer than a PPK/S. The sights are a little hard to see with these old eyes but I figure that it wasn't designed for anything over 15 - 20ft. It is as accurate as it needs to be at 7 yds. I've never owned a P3AT so I can't compare. I would recommend getting one if you can find one. Art
  23. When I was shooting Limited I used a Dawson F.O. front and never had a problem. My final cure was to move to Open so I could see the sight and the target. Damn, Getting old sure plays hell on the eyes! Art
  24. Dutch Apple was good too!!!! Great Match. Just hope the Reveolver guys will still let me shoot with them. Apparently my 9 major is a little loud for them. They were giving me a 5 yd. clearance. Art
