  1. I hate changing primer systems! Art
  2. Last time I bought wipers for the wife's car the guy at AutoZone installed them for me. How lucky can you get! I didn't buy the most expensive ones either.
  3. Some people never learn. They should remember that old saying--"If you outlaw guns.............." Art
  4. Twoshot, I've been running 7.8gr Trueblue. It is real clean and soft shooting. It is a fine spherical powder that meters well and is not a compressed load. This is under a 124 MG FMJ or 125 Zero FMJ with an AOL of 1.160 and WSR primers. I bought a jug of HS-6 but haven't used it since the Trueblue runs so good. I may try it sometime in the future though. Art
  5. I wonder how well the mags feed. Special mags?
  6. I think it would be safer to start with 4 mags just in case you have a problem with one of them. If nothing else, get the 3 from Henning and pick up 3 factory ones from EAA to use just as spares. If I recall you can get three 15 round mags for $75. I've got 4 factory mags for my 9mm. I've had to work with the followers to make them work right but now they are pretty good tho' not excellent. I don't know about the .40's Art
  7. Jamie, can I join? I've never won a match or even a stage but my gun is sure purty! Art
  8. EAA's tabel/pricing chart lists them at 4.5". I was thinking of putting a comped barrel on 9mm Match along with a Cmore and use it for steel. The match barrel is 4.75" I bought an FO from EAA. Had to work it a little before it would fit but once it was mounted it was as good as the Dawson FO on my Para 1640. Art
  9. Sprout, Looking at EAA's website there doesn't appear to be a 10 round mag for the large frame. The 101935 fits the 9mm Match but they are 18 rds. I'd call EAA and ask them. Art
  10. Art, Hope you had fun at our local match today. You are always welcome to come shoot with us, hitting the targets is a bonus. Jerry Sure did! Hated to have to reshoot stage 2. Next time no Texas Star!! Ate my lunch. Art
  11. Clean glass, 12 MOA turned up bright helps these old eyes even on bright days. (Still can't hit the targets tho')
  12. As a novice shooter I hope that I am not intruding on this topic. I am a novice shooter. I am also a Super Senior that has been shooting handguns for a total of 2 years. I belong to the Alpha Mike Club Shooters here in San Antonio and I am going to join the local steel club that AlamoShooter operates. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I enjoy shooting both! I'm still learning and each time I go to either match I learn something new. Many times it is just about myself. USPSA and Steel can coexist. Jamie has proven that. If our dues go up then we know that USPSA spent more money than was available. Will this keep us from shooting? Will any of this change our love of the sport? Should we get upset that we now have an opportunity to try something different? Sorry for the intrusion. Art
  13. I've been using Titegroup for mu steel 9mm and my .40. Before I started using it I called Hodgdon's and talked to a tech. He said that you can load as like as you like as long as the bullet makes it out of the barrel. He also said that it was not position sensitive. I like it real well and it's a heck of alot cheaper that VV320. Art
  14. I've used Berry's 200gr. for my .40 and 147gr. for my 9mm. They worked well and were as accurate as my guns and me. Art
  15. I had one. .40 cal. Found that the trigger was so long and stiff that I would pull the shots low and left. Got rid of it for that reason. Other than that it was a dependable handgun. I didn't find disassembly that difficult. Art
  16. I use a desk lamp shining over stations 2 & 3. I also have an inspection mirror taped to the 550 by station 3. Before I insert the bullet I check the level of powder in the case. After a while checking the level becomes automatic. Art
