  1. The 2 on the left attach the plate to the slide. The 2nd from left attach the optic to the plate. The other 2 sets are extra.

    X5 Legion accuracy

I definitely noticed that when I used a stock legion upper. After a couple hundred rounds, the POI would shift a good bit.

The crazy thing is GG uses all OEM parts. So it shows that the gun hardware has the potential to shoot that type of ammo just fine…. that said, the legion will shoot lighter ammo, or fmj much better. But when you get a load it doesn’t like, it’s awful.

    X5 Legion accuracy

I’ve been working on finalizing what ammo I’m going to use next year. Today when I was testing, I decided to take a stock legion along and see how it shot. I had forgotten how bad it was. These guns just don’t like coated heavy bullets. Shot from a rest at 15 yards. I’ve also attached a pic of the same ammo shot from a grayguns modified slide. Huge difference.
  6. Your example barrel is an OG sig p320 X5 barrel and is pretty much as bad as it gets. The barrels they use now have more support. Original design on the right, updated on the left, below. Theyve been using the updated design since they changed to the non LCI barrels on the legion. Silent acknowledgement that there was a problem? Maybe. That said, have you ever seen a blow out with someone using factory ammo?
  7. The official number from sig is 20k for the extractor and spring. The parts will go well beyond this number, I have some practice guns with over 100k on all original parts, minus the recoil spring. That said, I change the extractor and all the springs on my match gun every year regardless of round count. It’s less than $50 in parts and IMO cheap insurance.
  8. The 15Lb was way too heavy. I had too much brass bouncing off the optic. I ended up using the stock legion 12lb.
  9. It’s a 4.7” slide instead of 5”. I’m pretty sure they also take a 5” X5 bull barrel and cut it to fit. It’s more money due to the extra work.

That’s caused by the non captured guide rod bouncing around when you shoot. It’s worse with a tungsten guide rod and/or a 12lb spring. Overall it just looks bad, however it does beat up the takedown lever and over time it will eventually break.
  11. You just don’t give up do you…. If you are fitting an oversized barrel, sure there might be some adjustment to the barrel lug to get it to actually fit into the gun. That’s the point of an oversized fit barrel. But it makes little to no difference in the accuracy of the gun, unless it’s way off. that said, I’ve fit several barsto “gunsmith fit” barrels and I’ve never had to mess with the locking lug.
  12. im talking about what I’ve commonly seen with the p320 legion past 15 yards. It’s not uncommon at all to see a 4” group at 20-25 yards. how do you think barrel lockup works? On a plastic striker gun like the p320 the barrel lug fit to the takedown lever makes little to no difference. The consistency of the barrel lockup is in the barrel hood fit. Completely different than a 1911, cz, etc.
  13. So when shooting a tux or head box at 20+yards you don’t think there is a difference in a gun that has a 1” group and one that has a 4”? 4” is more than half the width of the target.. I’m glad you have a gun that shoots, but you are in the minority. I’ve never found a legion that had better than average accuracy. Fitting the barrel to the FCU is nonsense, what would you even fit? It contacts the takedown lever. The barrel hood to slide fit is what matters.
  14. You have to contact them directly and get on the “list’’
  15. That’s what I’m saying….
  16. Grayguns is starting to release their custom p320 uppers to the general public. I received mine and was able to put a few rounds through it. The upper looks to be 100% oem p320 legion sig parts, however the slide is cut differently and the barrel is hand fit to the slide. The biggest gripe I’ve had with the stock legion for years has been the terrible accuracy. There is no such problem with the GG slide. I shot several different types of ammo through it and all grouped 1” or less at 20 yards from a rest. I’d typically see 2-4” with the same variety of ammo through a stock legion. The fit and finish of the slide is top notch. The optic pocket is cut very tight and the optic has to be pressed in. Overall I’m pretty happy with it and look forward to putting more rounds through it.
  17. Disconnect the trigger bar spring.
  18. The trigger has no effect on how hard the striker hits.
  19. Ive been running an automated Apex 10 for a few months now. I also have most of the sensors and the digital powder measure Cons: Digital powder measure didn't work out of the box and had to be replaced. Primer system can be really finicky Primer xpress has more upside down primers than I'd like. 2-3 per 100 That said, now that I have it dialed in, it runs pretty much flawlessly at 2000 RPH. It took me a few loading sessions to work out the kinks, but since then Ive run about 10-12k round though it with very minimal problems.
  20. I’ve always aimed for 90-92% of points shooting minor, which is about 75-80% alphas. It’s pretty uncommon to see someone shooting minor and have 90%+ alphas. And by pretty uncommon, I mean almost never. I am talking about the people that have a competitive time, not the people that shoot very accurate but take 2-3x the time of the division winner.
  21. The plate on a normal X5 usually has to be fitted by filing a slight amount off the rear of the plate. There should be instructions on what to do included with the plate. I file the minimum amount and tap the plate into place with a rubber hammer.

    X5 Legion accuracy

i had 2 legions fitted with barstos by the sig armorer. Very marginal difference. In fact I think it was worse in some cases. IMO the p320 legions don’t lock up consistently.

    X5 Legion accuracy

The accuracy with the P320 legion is marginal at best. Inevitably someone will chime in with how their particular gun is a tack driver. But I don’t think that’s the case with the majority. I have had 5 different p320 legions and they all pretty much suck. Over time I’ve been able to develop a load that is good enough. But it’s still 4+” at 25 yards.
