  1. Check out the Firebird Saiga in the classifieds right now. Awesome open shotgun for a smoking price
  2. I spoke with Barry Dueck and MarkCO. Both of them said it would work. Well I mounted the front sight at the 3 o'clock position and got it sighted in. It worked perfectly.
  3. Here is me using the load 2 method as well as the quad load method.
  4. I'm running mine with a nordic spring and it has performed flawlessly. Haven't noticed it loosen at all and it looks great. The flames on the end of my gun helped me shoot twice as fast as I normally do
  5. The TTI oversize safety also works on the versa max
  6. Update, I bought a Taran Tactical Innovations oversized safety for the Benelli and it fits my Versa Max Tactical perfectly.
  7. I have a Carbon Arms carbon fiber tube. I would like to mount the Dueck RTS onto the tube, but can not mount the front sight at the 12 o'clock position due to there not being enough clearance on the inside of the tube at the top because of the gas tube. What I was thinking is mounting it at the 3 o'clock position and turning the sight around so that it is in the same position (in theory). Does anybody know if this will work? I want to know before I start poking holes in the tube. Or should I just sell it and buy the Seekins handguard? Side bar, does anyone know how much the 15" handguard weighs?
  8. It sure is. Gotta have some sort of motivation while practicing
  9. Yeah I filed the two notches on shell catch closer together so that there is less resistance when inserting the shells
  10. Here is some video of me loading my Versa Max Tactical. The lifter has been welded along with a couple other modifications that I have done. First is opening the loading port which I did the sides but also contoured the underside of the front to help funnel the shells down into the tube. Second mod: When doing the quad load I noticed that the second stack of shells was getting caught on the handguard when inserting the first two. On the VM the handguard doesn't really sit flush with with receiver so I glued in a piece of kydex under it so that it makes contact with the receiver then I beveled it so that there was no chance of the shells catching it.
  11. I can do a 4 second doing a quad load with the carbon arms FSL12 and I can do a 4.5 second reload with my chameleon twins system. I'll try and get video of the 4 second reload soon. And yes it is with a versa max with a welded lifter.
  12. Get the lifter welded on the versa max and you will have the easier loading semi auto shotgun around. I just hit a 4 sec reload (shoulder, to reload, to shoulder) today with mine. I can almost throw the shells into the gun.
  13. Found this on the Saiga 12 forum. This is insanely fast.
  14. what about the R&R stock? http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/79170-randrtargets-buttstock/#entry787593
  15. My versa max has the small gap in between the rib and receiver
  16. I suggested to Glenn to have both caps extended by a half an inch. I felt that that extra length would give a comfortable buffer when loaded to capacity with fiocchi slugs which I think are the longest 2 3/4" shells around. I determined this length by loading up the tube and unscrewing the cap to create more room in the tube. Unscrewing a half inch felt like the best additional length
  17. I've already brought up the issue to Glenn, of not getting all 10 rounds in with certain types of shells. He said he would have a slightly longer prototype in the mail to me the next day. Hopefully it will be here soon. I'll keep you guys posted
  18. Check out the Blade-Tech WRS. The retention hood is spring deactivated and gets out of the way in a hurry. Much easier to deactivate IMHO. http://www.blade-tech.com/RH-WRS-DUTY-HOLSTER-DOH-TEK-LOK-pr-1056.html Also the Hogue holster looks pretty good too http://www.hoguestore.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5
  19. I just got the Briley bolt handle designed for the M1/M2 and that didn't fit my versa max tactical either. I thought it would, since the nordic handle for the m1/m2 fit the vm tactical perfectly. The Briley handle had a shoulder on it the doesn't allow the shaft to go deep enough to engage the detent in the bolt. Can someone post a pic of a stock bolt handle for the m1/m2 so that I can see the difference?
  20. I also have a VM tactical and ordered a Briley bolt handle for the VM. Like yours, it didn't fit at all. Not even close. I don't know what gun the handle advertised to fit the VM is, but its not the VM. I think Briley needs to fix something or reorganize their parts bins lol. Just order a bolt handle for the M1/M2, it will for the VM
  21. Ok so I know the versa max and benelli trigger group are interchangeable if not identical. So does anyone know if the safeties will interchange between the two? My plan is to use the briley extended safety for the Benelli in my versa max if it will work.
