Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I was in the middle of installing my new flat faced Apex trigger kit when I got to the point of replacing the sear. Apparently there is the older block that has the 1/16" spring or the required version that is 1/8". I have the smaller. I've called apex and checked the usual gun part online stores. Does anyone have suggestions on where I can find a block?
  2. If anyone hasn't heard, there is a new 3 gun match in Upstate South Carolina the 2nd Saturday of each month at SCOTG. Look us up on Facebook at COG 3 Gun. We are now on month 3 and filling up fast. Last month we had 75 shooters and a waiting list. All money goes back into the match. This is truly a shooters run match! Last month we did a suppressor stage and gave away 2 suppressors from Palmetto State Defense.
  3. Looking to have someone cut in a rear 10/22 sight on my Versamax. I've seen a few good ones at matches where when flipped down, don't interfere with looking down the rib. Anyone have recommendations or pics of what I am talking about? Thanks
  4. Great thread, and not to side track... but, how do offset the liability of selling a gun part. Say it has to be put on by a gunsmith? The reason I ask is because I have an idea for a rifle comp. thanks all.
  5. I've been looking for carriers as well and thought about making some for me and my shooting gang. There's not much to them and I have some material laying around the shop. Any patent issues with any of them? I like the aluminum ones.
  6. So finally shot some slugs. Tried the Remington sluggers, full strength Remington's and Fiocchi 1oz. The Remington's shot roughly 10" right and 10" low. The Fiocchi shot low and left but only about 5-6". What do I do now. Is there any way to adjust something? Thanks
  7. Swapped out a spring I got from another Nordic tube and it works a lot better. It's much less stiff. Now to go out and shoot some.
  8. I thought the tactical used a Nordic tube. You would think they could supply the correct spring. I'm going to throw some shells in it and leave them for a while to see if that loosens it any. Anyone hav eideas on if there should be a gap between top rib rail and receiver?
  9. Just got my tactical back from getting modified and had some questions not related to the work performed. I sent the gun out 20 minutes after Purchasing it, so I didn't even see it together. When reassembling, should there be a gap where the barrel meets the action area. There is a gap of roughly 3/16" between the rib and action. The second question I have is the spring tension for the tube. It seems very heavy. To the point I can barely load the 8th round. Do people typically cut these down? Look forward to running some rounds through it before the next match. Thanks
  10. Should be getting my VMax tactical from Jeff at any time. Sent him the whole gun to do some "mods". I didn't have it 20 minutes before putting it on the brown truck. Can't wait to finally shot it.
  11. Anyone have pictures of Jeff's work from C Rums on opening up the load port?
  12. Even though being fairly new to 3 gun and competitive shooting in general, I've started to notice how the outside shooting world perceives 3 gun as some inferior shooting sport. It may just be the area of the country I'm located but local ranges seem reluctant to accept or offer match opportunities for multi gun shooting. I would go so far as saying, as I am at my local club practicing, I feel like I get the "stink eye" from more traditional shooting members who see me running more than a pistol down a practice stage I've set up. Is it just me or are there others who see this epidemic occuring on the local level. I know I could soly travel to all of the large 3 gun matches and feel welcome but want that same passion accross the board. I'm really excited to see the sport advance the way it has in the short year I have been following it and hope that other shooters embrace and welcome it as well. Thoughts?
