  1. This may be a contributing factor. All of the chambers have been reamed, however two of them were done by one company, and my third stock 2 was done by a different company. All of the barrels allow my ammo to plunk and spin freely.
  2. I only fired 10 rounds through each gun. I don't think it's a ammo quality control issue, because the deviation in each gun was within 20 fps. Next time I go drag my chrono out, I'll try a larger sample
  3. I figured there would be a deviation, I was just surprised to see how large of a spread three of the "same" guns would have. Good to know it's normal in the shadow's as well, I kind of figured it was attributed to the poor QC of the tanfos. Guess I'll have to adjust my match ammo a tad to ensure all my guns meet PF with some room to spare
  4. Wondering if anyone else noticed this, I have 3 stock 2s. I just shot a major match and a few weeks out decided to chrono my match ammo in my practice gun, and my main match gun. Surprised to observe about a 125fps variation in the two guns. My match gun came in a lot slower then my practice gun. I was initially assuming it was because my practice gun has around 40k rounds through it, however it has been consistent on the chrono since it was new. For giggles I busted out my 3rd stock 2 and it landed somewhere in the middle of the other two in terms of power factor. The only test sample is my regular ammo, which is 125g blue bullets with 4.0 grains of titegroup at 1.250
  5. I'm in the process right now of ordering a pair. I went with the velocity with prescription lenses. The caliber seemed to have too much of the frame visible while wearing them...kind of bothered me.
  6. For those of us with less then perfect vision, do you prefer to shoot with prescription safety glasses, or contact lenses and normal non-prescription glasses? I wear contacts 90 % of the time, however I recently had a local match where my contacts were extremely dry / blurry, and it completely had a major impact on my match. In the process of ordering up some Hunters HD prescription glasses based on this experience. I'm just curious what the majority of folks choose!
  7. All the dot divisions are growing like crazy in my area at the expense of iron sight divisions. It does seem like some of the PCC shooters have switched over to CO. I think as the dots become more reliable for slide mounted pistols CO will see even more growth.
  8. Nothing wrong with this at all. I actually respect this a lot, your being honest with yourself as to your level of participation. like someone mentioned above, I would however seriously look into getting a proper belt set-up. Unless what your shooting with now is semi-decent. I see a lot of people spend big dollars on gear, and never train or practice and always have the same results match after match, then complain when they aren't doing so good.
  9. I'm straight production, and am committed to staying there until I achieve some goals I have set for myself. I used to jump around from production, to limited, to PCC and was always changing gear within those divisions. At that time that was completely fine, because I was honestly just shooting for the "fun factor". Once I really got into the sport, I knew that to get good I needed to quit switching guns / divisions. At some point I would like to play around in CO. I have a third Tanfo just waiting to get the slid milled, but not till I'm a competitive M class production guy.
  10. Welcome to the Forums! Keep working and B class will just happen!
  11. I enjoyed the match, I thought the stages were good and had a nice mix of hoser with some distance thrown in. The only thing I would change have liked to see with the stages is maybe a couple of short or medium courses thrown in. Things seemed well thought out. As far as match management goes, everything went smooth (I can only speak for Friday) no backups and the staff was great. I didn't know there was a raffle, there was no shooters meeting on Friday. Overall, no complaints from me, I had a blast!
  12. Glad I have 3 right now. At that price I'd rock the Shadow 2 and just swap a spring or two and call it good. If I knew the prices were about to jump I probably would have snagged up a limited gun.
  13. 9 lb seems to work the best for me with 125g blue bullets over 4.1g of titegroup.
  14. PD is great, I'm about to pull the pin on another Stock 2 with them and at some point I'd love to have one set up for CO. Pretty cool to have a vendor who's active on here and willing to offer advice on getting these things running.
  15. Same primers as before? I couldn't get mine reliable with anything lighter then the 14lb PD hammer spring. If your going to get a new BOLO anyway, I'd take more off of the underside and see if it allows the hammer to go back further in DA. Odd that this would just start showing up after several years...
  16. I installed the extended custom mag release on my Stock II. Shot it for probably 3k rounds without issue, until the Alabama State match. Something changed with my grip, and I was dropping mags left and right. I took a dremel to the the mag button, and rounded off the squared edge, and took a good bit a material off. Still larger then the factory mag catch, and some 5k rounds later it has never happened again.
  17. Based on where you live, unless there is no heat in production or SS, I'd just keep shooting production until you get to A class or higher.
  18. First, I'd look around on Practiscore and search some past matches in your area that you plan on attending. Then I'd look at the participation in the various divisions that you are considering shooting in. I love production at heart, but I'm honestly thinking about switching next year to CO, or maybe limited. Not a whole lot of people shooting production, at least at the clubs I'm able to attend in my area. I enjoy the sport more when the field I'm competing in is fairly deep with participants.
  19. If you have a GSSF coupon then the 34 is the way to go, especially if you can get a Gen 5. That gun will take you as far as you want to go in the sport. A lot of the top production GM's in my area made the switch back to glocks from metal guns.
  20. I'd look into having your barrel reamed, I had the same problem and had to load way short. Now I can load 125 blues to 1.150 all day, way worth the 50ish dollars to get the barrel done. I was stuck in the 1.05ish OAL without.
  21. Dryfire helps for me a lot with SHO / WHO, especially with getting a good index, and obviously the gun handling aspect. I've been hitting SHO / WHO in every life-fire session as well, and at least for ME this has helped a lot with learning what I can get away with (sight picture) and still hit alphas at different distances. I also let the pistol cant, as it feels more natural and makes it easier for me to pick up the front sight.
  22. I have the same problem on many of may K9 mags. it only happens on an empty mag, if there is a dummy or live round in the magazine it's fine. Also, my mags won't drop free when it does this. I'm following this closely as this has been bugging me for some time, I hope we find a solution, I have to buy like 6 mags to get 4 good ones I trust.
  23. The hammer pin doesn't need to be driven out with a punch. Just remove the sear cage, push the hammer pin pin out, and the hammer pin will push right out.
  24. Also check out Gunbot.net for various online sources and current prices..
