  2. drop in the Apex flat faced forward sear kit. I almost sold my Performance Center 9L before I had that kit dropped in. I now also have a KKM non ported barrel as well in mine and it's a tack driver. plinking 12" steel plates at 50 yards yesterday with the Jpoint shield mini sight 147 gr AE rounds .....no problemo
  3. I just received a KKM barrel for my Performance Center 9L I wanted the option of being "non Ported" when I want without getting an entire slide separate slide. I ran several off the shelve rounds through it yesterday (AE 147, S&B 124, Aguila 124, Blazer 124) plus some of my buddies 147 and 124 rounds. Zero issues, accuracy out to 50 feet was as good if not better than the stock OEM barrel, fit tighter than the stock barrel, no lockups or issues at all. As far as i can see KKM is a viable option, for quite a bit less $$ than Apex. I'm shooting steel with mine (mostly) it's plenty accurate for that
  4. another Red hill tactical fan here
  5. Nice! I have the PC 9L that came with the Jpoint mini sight. I'm on the fence about it , I find it easy enough and it stays zero-d very well, but it hasn't been all that reliable. I may go with a Trijicon RMR 6 MOA as I'm using this to shoot steel for the most part. You may want to think about dropping in the Apex flat faced forward sear trigger set. .....what a difference it made in mine. almost zero take up, fast follow up shots are so much easier now.Nice crisp 3# pull, I almost sold this thing, the stock trigger was frustrating me that much ...(even thought it's a cough cough Performance center) If I do end up keeping it I will be dropping in the apex barrel too, too many people say it makes a big difference. I'm kind of leaning towards going all CZ these days now , my shadow 2 has really spoiled me
  6. s it just those 2 locking bolts at the front? I just got one of the CZ custom Shop Dovetail Optic mounts and would love to try itbut I need to know what I'm getting into, do I need a sight push? does the elevation screw need to be removed as well?I'm hoping this is very simple as I will be putting the rear sight back on fairly quickly, if I like this I will be buying another shadow 2to use the optic on full time. thanksNick
  7. thanks guys , I need the tools that is the problem, i don't even have a padded vice I watch some of these videos and I think to myself ..."I should be able to do this no problem" I'll take a look for that video I'm guessing this is the referenced video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBlt-tNMX_A
  8. he did a few other things while he had it as well. I have no tools ....yet to work on on this thing without scratching the hell out of it and unfortunately , my eyes aren't what they used to be.
  9. I had my gumsmith do a bunch of work on my 2 last week (it's all in the Mods to my shadow 2 thread) anyway on of the changes he did was to replace the extended mag release with a "regular one" the mags drop right out when the gun is cool but when I start running the gun the mags don't drop , I actually have to pull them out. any idea as to what is happening here? I'm afraid that I may have to have him put the original mag release back in
  10. I just went through this myself a well, I started with the LOK palmswells , had to sand down the top lip on them as it was rubbing my support hand thumb raw, saw someone else here mention the VZ grips here , ordered a pair and now that's what on my shadow 2. I find the VZ's are a bit thinner than the Loks and not as aggressive patterned. VZ LOK Ideally I'd actually like something right between these as I do like how the Lok Swell rises a bit higher than the VZ's but for what've I got on there is working great (already dropped enough $$ on grips, yikes)
  11. is that outer impact mount a dove tail mount?
  12. don't know why the pic is gone zero-d in my shield mini sight at 40 feet and worked on some double taps suddenly this gun is a lot of fun to shoot and much more controllable, I was on the fence about getting rid of it but it looks like this apex kit has saved it.
  13. Made a few changes to my Shadow 2 this week. Changed out my Lok Palm swells to VZ palm swells. they are slightly thinner and actually fit my hand better. put extended safety on right side switched out extended mag release for a lower extended one (I'm a lefty was digging into my middle finger) 13 pound hammer spring extended firing pin and return spring. gotta say this thing is shooting like a champ, I'm almost tempted to go to 11.5 pounds on the hammer spring but my gunsmith (who's a CZ guy) said shoot a couple of hundred rounds through it first , it will loosen up some. the SA pull is incredible now at 35 feet today with the new parts in there. (2 inch dot) mag release (I'm used to using my index finger so I kept it on this side, i may go back to the stock one and flip to the right and see if I like it any better) extended safety and new VZ grips rear view of the VZ's compared to the LOK grips with my tactical light and new grips I shot my buddy's Target II and surprisingly I like the Shadow 2 better, it's more lefty friendly and I didn't like the shape of the trigger (so that saved me some money) LOL! this gun is just amazing
  14. you'd think that if Smith and Wesson touts a line as Performance center and competition ready , they'd actually have a competition level trigger. ....... Wrong!! I have been on the fence about selling my PC 9L with the JPoint shield mini dot on it (which I love) but I figured I'd try dropping in the Apex Flat faced forward trigger sear kit to see if it was salvageable. . Well I picked it up today and put 150 rounds through it without the red dot on it and I was easily able to shoot 2" groups at 30-40 feet with consistency. I could not do that with the stock trigger in it. It was like Night and day, the gun should've come from the Performance center shop like this. I put the red dot back on and I'm ready to do some more shooting with it tomorrow. Why can Apex do this right and smith and wesson can't? I'm starting to think they are in bed together and S&W purposefully puts out these crappy triggers and takes a cut from each Apex upgrade sold. It's not like they are a Junior company, they've been around for a long time a good striker fire Trigger is not rocket science. H&K and Walther and even CANIK can do it right out of the box. S&W can't? I don't buy it.
  15. it would be great if we can get these optics ready slides separately
  16. I'd go this route initially, I am actually going to try this with my buddies Target II and if it seems viable and reliable I'll be buying a target II of my own. this will do the trick DoveTail Red dot Mount
  17. love this one (as I said on the MP forum) I'm having the apex flat faced forward sear set put into my Performance center 9L as I type. I have the Jpoint Red dot on mine but I shot an STI with a fixed dot like fxdcs set up and I liked it much better so that will probably next step., but in the meantime mine is looking closer to Garmils. where do I get a compensator like his and the flared magwells? (I've been so immersed in the CZ world lately I've kind of checked out of the M&P world, but I want mine to actually "work" for me) since I already have it and the comp belt holster etc. ***edit *** speed shooter accessories has this stuff, but flaring the magwell and adding the mag extension swill make my mags illegal in mass what a pain
  18. ICZ custom shop has an Optics mount that replaces the rear sight that works on a shadow 2. someone on the CZ usa forum had a extra and sold it to me (incoming) It works with the Jpoint shield mini sight (which I have and really like) so I figured I'd give it a try. no modifications needed to install just replace the rear sight with the mount, curious if anyone has tried this yet? for such short $$ and no Mods I figured Id give it a go, as I really like using red dots but don't want to modify my shadow 2
  19. MecGar 10 rounders here in the socialist Republic of Mass no problems yet about 2000 rounds in
  20. these VZ's fit right onto a Shadow 2? the upper lip on my LOK palm swells do actually bother me a bit (I've sanded them down a little )but would be open to checking out the VZ's
  21. I ran into a friend of mine yesterday who recently picked up an M&P 5" pro ( not core ) with the HIViz sights on it and "Wow" they really picked up the light nicely. They were noticeably brighter than the sights on my shadow 2 (nd they have fresh tubes in them) anyone know anything about them? Not much info on them online. they have a front sight for the CZ75 I assume this will drop right onto a shadow 2? Hiviz for CZ75 thanks Nick
  22. shot a little lokTite in there ....should be ok
