  1. I talked with Adrian last week and it seems some people are having issues in their open tanfos. Make sure you check OAL and that the sides of the mags are providing the correct support and feeding.
  2. Yes, you're correct. The mags were designed for Caspian. They do work with a little modification in the tanfo platform. If you'e having a problem with your current mahs, CALL Bevin first, before you jump ship. I'm sure he'll get you sorted out.
  3. No worries. Call the shop or shoot us an email of you ever need anything. We'll likely get you sorted out immediately.
  4. The titan and bolo did drop in. It is performing as advertised. Fitting the safety is something everyone has to do.
  5. Is there no search feature on this site? You'll need to fit the safety, or the sear. I prefer the safety. Use a dremel and a diamond rotary bit. Reduce the nub until it slides under the sear leg... but not to much it blows the safety.
  6. Incorrect. I'm assuming we're talking about the tanfo pictured above? 14# and You still get light strikes in SA? 1. If you have the FPB still in, pull it out and look for drag marks. 2. How deep are your primers? 3. What FP spring are you running?
  7. You can do quite a bit to the elite to make it an amazing trigger and shooter.
  8. Get a sample pack from Patriot Defense. I'm certain you'll get what you need and still maintain a smooth trigger.
  9. You realize these replies are from almost two years ago? There are a plethora of aftermarket parts that have become available since then...
  10. Bumping this since we've been getting a lot of inquires about the gen 2/bolo fitment. We will mod from the shop of you request, but we've had 100% success with customers able to do this at home, following the video guidelines. The .020" seems to be the sweet spot. We've sent some blind to customers in Europe and South Africa, and they've dropped right in. As always, call or email the shop if you have any questions or issues. Thanks!
  11. At the Tanfo factory, the people that put all the parts together have a set time to do so. From start to finish, IIRC, it was 45 minutes. This includes fitting the barrel. If they couldn't do it in that time, the gun gets chucked into a bin for later evaluation. That being said, I don't think it's an upper problem. I thing what you got was a poorly fit barrel from the factory. If it were me, I'd evelaluate how bad the damage is on the slide lugs. If it's not too bad, I'd just replace and refit a new barrel. If ypu buy a new gun or upper, you may just end up with another poorly fit barrel for triple the cost.
  12. It's not similar to a Tanfo. It is similar to a CZ. The hammer strut and internals are CZ based. Tanfo parts won't work (for the most part) in that. You'll need to source parts from CGW or CZ Customs.
  13. Actually, Memphis brings up a thought I forgot to mention - get your RO cert. so you can run him.
  14. Sounds like you got a good one. Set him up with a rig, and start letting him run some stages! Some things that help the curve in regards to uspsa - 99% of everyone in your squad will be excited to have him there. 1% won't, so pick and choose your battles. Don't crowd him. Make sure you're able to cure a possible 180 breach immediately, but let him have a little breathing room. Don't worry about scoring, at all. If he can decipher a stage and course of fire, make any hits on targets and poppers, you're already ahead with him. Not sure what state you're in, but it's easier to run hi cap mags, with fewer reloads as that can add to the distraction of what they were planning to do next. You'll be shocked how quick kids pick up this game. Enjoy and good luck!
  15. Give that m&p a go with some double taps, see how it runs. I've found that it has a lot of feed issues in competitions. The 1911 .22 platform is a lot more "tune-able," to run standard and high velocity .22 ammo. There are a few companies that make 1911 .22 specific parts, to have it running malfunction free. You may have to either run high velocity, or drop the recoil spring rate to get that m&p to run. Also, the feed ramp may need a little massaging.
  16. My son is 7, he started at 6. He went cricket, semi .22, 9, then I put him back in a .22. The reason I dropped him back down is because he was better able to focus on the stage and the movements. When he was in the 9, it was distracting him from pretty much everything. As a side note, he's grown up around guns/gunfire, and lives to shoot. He can shoot anything static... but once you throw movements in, a lot changes. I know every situation is different, just giving you another piece to the puzzle. Good luck and it's awesome to see you getting him into the sport! Also, John is an amazing resource for junior and scholastic shooting. PM him and I'm sure you guys will have some good conversations. Sorry for the music, lol, it was part of a squad video.
  17. Do you have plans to get him into uspsa/competition shooting, or just static for now?
  18. cheby, I respect your opinion, but obviously you've not shot any stock 2's that were correctly tuned. The aftermarket parts and a competent 'smith will have a s2 with a better trigger, and running better than a shadow two.
  19. The Havoc came in 38S, but not the CMate. http://cz-usa.com/product/cz-75-ts-czechmate-9mm-black-2x20-rd-1x26-rd-mags/
  20. Bevin does not want to manufacture parts for MBX mags. He and I had pretty extensive discussions about the 140 and 170, when I was beta testing them for Adrian. As I've stated before, the tanfo MBX were made for Caspian open guns, and it just so happened they "kind of" worked in the GT. The were never manufactured specifically for a Tanfo. That being said, to get a MBX to run 100%, you need to use wooden dowels in a bench vice to create the indentations that the MBX lack. That is the reason for the feed issues and the nosedives.
  21. That should have been your original reply. So much better. I respect your opinion, and appreciate the feedback.
  22. Nobody came in here trying to solve a "problem." But every once in a while, I have to deal with some paper GM, crossing the flotation markers and out of their lane - giving technical information on a product that's incorrect.
