  1. Copy on the beveling of the slide stop catch. I have my CZs tailored to auto forward but on this gun I want to be very careful since parts are expensive and not so readily available. I'm also going to modify a follower to see how much I can take off making the slide stop not have so much area contacting the slide. That's what I mean by a "puzzle". I'll go slow and put a lot more rounds down the pipe.
  2. I'll keep working this piece of the puzzle; the slide lock. I also noticed the spring is quite strong. May have to give it some love when the time comes. Where are those cool SF disassembly videos??
  3. Thanks so far with the replies! How many rounds do you have in the guns? I know at 500 rounds I still have some breaking in to do. My RSA is a Sprinco with yellow spring. Since the ammo I like to run is 127-128 PF, I'll try the white spring and see if that 1lbs less tension helps. I also have the ZT guide rod and Wilson 13lbs flatwire spring to yet install. I bought 4 springs so cutting a coil or two (or more) is the plan.
  4. Has anyone had their SF consistently auto forward during a slide lock reload? If so, did you modify or use specific ammo? Mine has done it a few times and I don't remember what ammo I was using at that moment. I do slam my mags. Thanks for replies.
  5. Next up is ordering a set of LOK thin bogies and see if they can add their mag release recess for them.
  6. Hand file (D shaped), 600 grit sandpaper, and took my time. A Dremel might be a bit too aggressive.
  7. No, it is stock. IMO, the extended is really long for any IDPA/USPSA action. And I would bet your hold would activate it dropping the mag! That's why I opted for relieving the grips. Did a lot of mag change drills today and I'm real happy with the result.
  8. Took out my file on the new thin checkers for the SF this morning. I know it's rough but it works!! I did send the pic to LOK.
  9. Waiting to hear about the 40 version. Going to be my 2021 Limited Division purchase if/when the magazine capacity gets sorted out.
  10. I have it and shoot it because I like it! Contingency program was not a factor in the purchase. It's even better now that the LOK thin grips are installed.

    Weather

I have to laugh when the guys ask me for a match forecast. I say it's going to rain a lot and be muddy. They go anyway and it's cancelled or too unsafe to move about. Then they come home and tear into me like it's my fault! I love being a meteorologist!!
  12. Thanks. What epoxy did you use? I also sail and have various epoxy types laying around.
  13. Is there enough material in the button to drill a hole allowing the threaded piece, or part of it, to fit inside before the epoxy? This is a great idea! I'm getting a Q5 SF this week. After following all the countless threads and now the thin LOK grips, I figured it was time. I have all kinds of items inbound and don't have the gun yet!
  14. I'm in for the full size .40 model.
  15. I'm running a 9lbs recoil spring, 8.5 HS for Fed primers only, 11.5 HS for all other primers, and the Rami firing pin spring with the CZC extended firing pin. 100% with Fed primers and the DA on my Shadow 2 is below 5lbs (Super polished w/8.5 HS), I added a Tanfo sear spring (one extra coil) to up the SA to 3lbs. Took some nifty fitting and went through 3 of them before I got the angles right. CGW adjustable sear with spacer. DA and SA as close together as I could make it. S2 internal work is my benchmark for all my other CZ builds/projects. I use 125g and 147g projectiles w/Fed primers from NC Shooters. When the above was performed on my CTS LS-P, the result was 5.2 DA and 2.9 SA w/8.5HS. The recoil spring is below 9 with an extra coil cut off the S2 setup. This is my Production backup and my IDPA SSP or ESP gun. These guns are fun to work on and you must be patient. I can't wait for the DWX in 40 to come out!
  16. What the heck, it's only money! Enjoy yourself. I agree with many, the 75 and SP-01 Shadows play in both games.
  17. Why not look for a 75 Shadow DA/SA? My SAO 75 Shadow is balanced just right and I'm going to look for it's mate next year. I also have a Shadow 2 and a CTS LS-P.
  18. Weird. Who is the spring maker? Try switching makes or try a 12lbs spring. Maybe a deep cleaning and then use Mobil-1 or Royal Purple. Is the guide rod bent? Barrel dragging along the bushing? Certain magazine lip issue? I'm fishing.
  19. When was the last time you changed your recoil spring? What poundage is it?
  20. I run a 9lbs recoil spring with a 11.5lbs hammer spring in my S2. My gun lights up CCI primers. I can run a 8.5lbs hammer spring with Fed primers only. My match 147g bullets come from NC Shooters and is a Blue bullet/Fed primer combo. To answer your question, IMO, 11.5 HS is the lowest you can go for CCI. Most run a 13 and never look back. Good luck!
  21. To run in IDPA ESP if I want to. USPSA Limited is a blast! I know 43oz (empty mag/no magwell) is the limit in IDPA but why trust an un-calibrated scale? Sure, every gun is going to be a little bit different.
  22. I see 43oz for the weight with an empty magazine. What would you do to it to get to 42oz? I really like the concept.
  23. I agree with the price point. PM-9 would be/is a better price option.
