  1. CZ makes an excellent line, and it is tough to pick a favorite. I own six CZ's and my favorite is the one I use in competition. Last year it was my Czechmate when I was shooting open, and this year it is my Shadowmate fitted with a DPP for Production Optics, which I definitely think I will stick with !
  2. PM me, I will take one, Thanks!
  3. Damn, they don't ship to Canada . Is .360 x 60* dovetail the correct cut for Czechmate?
  4. Personally, I would go for a shadow or a Shadow 2 OR if you can modify it to reduce the weight. I have been shooting a shadow with optics for the last seven months and absolutely love it! Trigger is amazing once fitted with a reduced main spring and a Pre-B Disconnector, and these are simple to do yourself.
  5. What slide racker is that? and where can you get it? That is the best one that I have seen to date for the CM. Thanks
  6. The OR model of the Shadow 2 is already on the Production Legal list in IPSC. Not too sure what is happening with USPSA. http://www.ipsc.org/rules/proddiv.php
  7. It really doesn’t matter which gun I use for dry fire. It is all the same. For competition I always bring both just in case, but have ever only used the one. As was mentioned with optics, while shooting open or PO, I have never had one break, just changed the battery. Also I use a DPP which is totally water proof, so I don’t have to worry about rain, which is an issue with a few red dot optics.
  8. The importance of a back up gun is not so much with a CZ. When getting into Production Optics, I purchased a second shadow and had it set up identically with intentions of it being a back up. I feel it is a waste, and sometimes think of selling it in weak moments as it is never used. All I do is wipe the dust off it since I got it. CZ's seldom break or malfunction. The only weakness with the shadows is the TRS which has been known to break, however, I have not heard of them breaking on a S2, so they may have put in a stronger spring, not sure.
  9. Chili, the solution is simple. Get TWO OR Shadow 2’s. One for production optics and the other to modify to be legal for USPSA. The price for both guns is still only a fraction for what you pay for a half decent open gun, and you will truly have the best for USPSA, and IPSC.
  10. Correct, put in a trigger Spring from CZC and it will increase the pull by a half pound easily as it is a stronger spring. Again, as was mentioned, I am not sure why you would do this as the TS has one of the best triggers in the game.
  11. I also have both. I like the 2.5 dot better on the DPP, but I like the adjustment settings on the RTS2 better. Overall, you won’t be set back with either scope, they are both excellent!
  12. No they will not! They will fit the magwell that comes with the TSO or Czechmate. You can get regular size grips and fit them for the CZC magwell by taking about 3mm of metal away at the bottom. It is very easy, and there is not much that has to be taken off.

    Henning Grips

For me, grips are not about looks and beauty, they are about fit and aggressiveness. I have never tried the Henning grips, but they look like the checkered aluminum panels for the CZ and I am not impressed with the agressiveness of the checkering, you want it to bite into your hand and they do not, however, I cannot account for the henning grips, but they seem the same. I went for the Scales 2.0 and although they are fugly, with their spikes and pockets they are locked in your grip, even with sweaty palms. I am hoping that I can see the Henning grips at a match so that I can get the feel of them as they do make excellent products. Their mounts are exceptional in design and fit!

    S2 weight w factory mag

Hmmm, something is not right. 2.11 lbs is only 33.76 oz. Unless that’s 2 lbs 11 oz which is 43 oz empty.
  15. You talk to people with that attitude and it is no wonder they keep sending you duds. I know several shooters that use the RTS2 and they do not have an issue. The problem is on your end!
  16. It is a CZ thumbrest. Robin Sebo sells it at Sebo Weapons. https://seboweapons.com/en/31-mount-rest he also sells the mounts that are drilled and tapped, but I just drilled and tapped my own as I prefer the RTS2 over the slide ride.
  17. Agreed , just because you have issues with a product does not mean it is a POS. I have an RTS2 V4, and a DPP. The RTS2 had issues similar to the OP’s and it was because the rear of the battery tray was broke. You wouldn’t see this as it seems fine but is noticeable once you pull it. These battery trays have a very thin piece of plastic in the rear and this easily breaks causing the battery to lose contact. Cmore immediately sent me a new battery tray and now all is good. The DPP was another story. The one I got couldn’t hold a battery charge and the sensor didn’t work from day 1. I sent it to Leupold for repair and they told me is a dud and they could not fix it. They sent me a new one that has worked spot on to this day. These are both excellent sights, but there are ones that have issues. That’s what the warranty department is for and they will fix you up, unless you call their product a POS........
  18. I have the CZ thumb rest which is the best as it does not utilize the mounts screws or holes. The slide racket I moved to the left side and angled it upwards so that it won’t interfere when gripping the pistol.
  19. I shoot a Shadow in Production Optics, and for that I use 147's coated FP, with 3.0 gr of titegroup giving 130 PF and this is a VERY mild shooting load. I have shot 124's in practice, and do not really see any difference in performance, so I think it breaks down to ones own preference. I am sticking with the 147's

    First TSO broken part

Reduce the pic size. You can do this with PS or MS Paint.
  21. I use base pads designed and sold by Jade McKay here in Canada. They work flawlessly, easy to remove so that the mag can be cleaned, and they are hollow so they can be weighted down with lead pellets if one chooses. They are made out of industrial plastic and have gone through over a hundred rds of torture testing being dropped on concrete flooring. I initially tried the springers and they are not easy to remove as they are held in place by screws that are also easily stripped. After the third one stripped and I could not remove the pad without drilling it, I got JM's base pads and couldnt be happier.
  22. Agreed! The TSO is an amazing gun. I love that 1.5 lb trigger pull, nothing comes close!
  23. Thank you so much for sharing! Three of my eight TS mags have this problem and I thought that it was the followers and have not used them since. I filed off the mushroomed end and they too now work 100%. Helpful posts like these is what I love about these forums!
  24. What I would do is listed above. Keep in mind that everyone’s preference is different, but for IPSC, I would definitely have the shadow SP01, I would not use the single actions for home or self defence as I would prefer the DA first shot. Just mo!

    Shadow 2 Optic?

I would wait, as CZ has released an Optic Ready Shadow 2 which has the back of the slide wider to better accommodate the optic. It comes with mounting plates to accommodate all optics. It is supposed to be released in Canada within 4-6 months and pre orders are being taken. It is probably the same in the USA. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/03/20/iwa-2018-cz-shadow-2-optics-ready-22lr-kadet-conversion/
