  1. Running a good stage is dependent on one thing and one thing only....... you have to be totally relaxed, and this is dependent on mental conditioning. If out heartbeat is normal at 70 bpm, check it before the buzzer goes off. It can easily go over 120 bps, and this is why our brains turn to mush once we hear the beep, and why that first stage is always the worst. As we shoot stage 6 or 8, we are more relaxed and generally shoot better.
  2. The only thing that I can say is to jump on it! My Czechmate has about 14K rds through it and the only time it has malfunctioned is with a dirty mag. It is nice to know that your gun will shoot 100% reliable, and you have that with a CM.
  3. Your gonna get a multitude of answers and you probably wont get anything defined. All the choices are good. I am partial to the Czechmate, as I have never had a jam or malfunction in two years, aside when I had a dirty mag. Czechmates work, that is what counts for me.
  4. DPP's are waterproof, so rain is not an issue with them. My RTS2 has never had issues in the rain that I have experienced. If you are concerned, you can always use the cover in between stages.
  5. For a comparison, here is the Czechmate barrel as it has been redesigned. Earlier on, CZ had three barrels included with a CM. With the barrel upgrade, only ONE came with the CM, but it is the only one you need. As you can see, there has been considerable beef installed in the link which is where the breakage was happening. Some people have had extreme luck with the older barrels, whereas others have had them break after 6-7K rds. I think that it also deals a lot with the loads that are used, and what you use in practice as compared to matches. The smarter guys are the ones that use reduced loads throughout practice shooting the older barrels. As far as slide stops, I have never broken one. I have always used a shock buff earlier on, and now I use a DPM system. I find that the DPM does not do much to reduce felt recoil, but it works incredibly as a shock absorber between the action of the slide and barrel/frame. The DPM system also replaces the current CZ guiderod, so this too would help you with the guide rod issue converting a TS to Open. Definitely a good investment!
  6. The barrels in the CM were changed in that it beefed up the area shown here. This is a pic of the original barrel which is prone to breakage (new ones have that area beefed up): If your TS barrels are as the one pictured above without the beef, it will break. I know all the CM's have been upgraded about three years ago, not sure though about the TS models.
  7. One interesting thing though. One issue that the Czechmate had though, was that the barrel constantly broke with 9 major ammo in earlier versions. CZ has came up with a fix in that it had to re-enforce the barrel with extra BEEF in the lug. How did you address this in converting a TS to 'open'? Did you use the re-enforced Czechmate barrel? * On a side note, I have tested your CM comp and it really is an improvement simply in the weight reduction making the CM much more balanced, as well as the design offering a flatter shooting gun which is really noticeable using slower burning powders. Very well done!
  8. It has already been on trial for almost a year, and two more, I feel is overkill. No division should require a 3yr evaluation IMO. IProdction Optics is DEFINITELY taking off, however ‘PO Light’, will take away from that, and I personally don’t think it will go anywheres. I have been wrong before though......
  9. ^^^^I have heard a lot of different concepts. What it all boils down to is this^^^
  10. This is incorrect unfortunately. It is on trial until Dec 2020. Here is a cut of the Minutes from the 42nd GA: Committee:: ⋅ Proposal A and B on Handgun Production Optics and Production Optics Light Divisions was approved, and will be under evaluation, unless extended, it will expire on 31 December 2020. You can read the full minutes here: http://ipsc-france.fr/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/IPSC-42-GA-IPSC-NEWS.pdf It is on trial for another two years. Not too sure if I feel like waiting that long.......
  11. Well, I have been shooting Open mostly. Last year, I thought that I would give Production Optics a try and I really enjoyed it, however, I think that I will be going back to Open until Production Optics becomes an official division in IPSC. I think it is good to try other divisions, as then you will have a good idea what suits you best.

    Thin safety

No, it is not legal for production if you modify your safety. You CAN however buy a flat safety from CZ and put that on. It is the same one that is on the CZ 75 Shadowline. It is an original CZ part that can legally be put on the Shado or Shadow 2

    New to the CZ world

I power factored 128 at the Canadian Nationals with that load.
  14. Haha true, the title should read EXCEEDED expectations, not FAIL. I hear this a lot. They seem to be an extraordinary company. I say 'seem' as unfortunately they do not ship to Canada , and therefore I do not have the luxury of dealing with them.
  15. Overall, very good runs! I liked that you took advantage of shooting on the move where ever you could. Keep up the good work, M is right around the corner

    Optic Ready Shadow2?

CZ's website has the Shadow 2 OR at 46.91 oz WITHOUT the optic or the plate, so forget about carry optics. https://www.czub.cz/en/cz-shadow-2-or.html . They are going to have to mill the slide another 5 oz at least, and that is tough considering that the bulk of its weight increase compared to the shadow is in the frame.
  17. It says the video is unavailable. Any chance of reposting? Thanks
  18. But using a 90m gr bullet with 8.2 gr of powder would PF at 127, and technically that should be a VERY flat shooting load with little recoil, as you have the gases to work the comp. Would a comp not be ideal for this, especially shooting steel matches?
  19. Good to hear! What load have you been using to test?

    Yes, they do break

Yes, two parts that will break are the trigger return spring and the other is the slide stop. One that helps with the slide stop is using a shock buff. I have not had one break yet, but all my CZ's have shock buffs from day 1.
  21. I have a RTS2 frame mount on my CM in open, and a DPP on the slide of my shadow for Production Optics. No issues with either. DPP works very well mounted on the slide and it is my favourite of the two.
  22. The 5 hole option would not work for your gun. You will probably either a) wait for the frame mount multi mount to be restocked or b) having a slide mount for use with your Venom. CZC makes a multi mount for the slide, and other manufacturers make them as well for your Venom. Springer is one of those companies, as I have one that fits perfectly in the dovetail of my TS. This way, you will also be able to use the three hole pattern for your thumbrest.
  23. Does it need to be fitted, or does it screw right on?
  24. That is one LONG comp. I can actually see the design being very effective. Is it made from aluminum or titanium?
