  1. Yup, what are sometimes known as Skinny Sammies. Hit the base, popper doesn't move, no hit.
  2. Was it a hinged plate, or sitting on the stand. Either way, if it's a "falling plate" it has to fall. If you hit a regular popper low and it doesn't fall, it doesn't count, neither would a self setting popper. Every 3 gun match I've shot and R.O.'d did it that way.
  3. A pretty good pistol shooter from Mesa, Az. once told me that knowledge unshared is worthless. I'm lucky to have some friends over in the UK and get to see some of there shotgun stages.
  4. A couple of my British friends are using them, with great success. They do a lot more shotgun over there though. https://www.youtube.com/attribution_link?a=S15ngDZwbZQ&u=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DGGG_aZSSDzE%26feature%3Dshare
  5. Thank you, Howard and all those that worked to put this match on. Those that want a hosefest, stay home. Those that want a challenging and humbling match, don't you dare miss the next one! I shot Limited for the first time, and found the rifle parts to be not a problem, as were the shotgun. Pistol however bit my ass, chewed it up, spit it out and laughed hysterically at this old fart! It's always good to shoot with friends, see people that are too far away to shoot with on a regular basis. Hopefully I have a couple new addicts to the game from this match.
  6. It's kind a Lewis System. Information is found here https://yorkpistol.blogspot.com/
  7. There is / was a theory about the Turbulance Point, using the shoulder angle and neck length to indicate barrel life (burned out throats) This is why a 6MM Remington would have longer barrel life than a .243 Winchester. The 20 degree shoulder angle had the turbulence point beyond the case mouth, therefore throat erosion was faster.
  8. Nick, Thanks for the info. The people that I knew that were shooting the Dasher were either F class or benchrest shooters. I've too little time and cash to get involved with another game!
  9. And probably not as good a set up.
  10. Replace the carrier spring. #9 on Brownells schematic of M2 Trigger Group.
  11. Optics Planet has them listed. http://www.opticsplanet.com/athlon-optics-1-6x24-ir-capped-fixed-30mm-sfp-atsr1-ir-moa-riflescope.html
  12. My M2 runs 1 1/8 ounce loads at 1155 - 1200 FPs, Fiocchi and B&P slugs. The bolt has not been lightened, which will require heavier loads according to Kurt Miller.
  13. Did you ever look in the Gallery thread? This is a technical thread, simple photos should be in the Gallery. Just a thought.
  14. Dianna, you know I was having similar issues with my rifle at He Man. I opened the gas up, bolt locked back every time, even when it was cold. Locked back prior to opening up the gas too. Prior to the match, I removed my DPMS bolt carrier that I had put an adjustable gas key on, and put in a brand new Rubber City Armory bolt carrier group. Saturday, after we were done shooting, with much frustration, and lots of desperation, I put a JP bolt into the carrier. Tension was much less between the bolt and carrier. Jim Lambert thought it was too loose, I didn't care. Personally, I'd rather have it loose than too tight. Went back to the sight in range, and dumped a full mag out of the gun. Brass was ejecting to a normal distance. The gun ran perfectly on stages 5, 6 and 7 Sunday morning. I'd try polishing the gas rings with some 400 wet or dry, lube it good, and see how it runs. As to the brass flipping back into the port, was the case head out of the port and the neck inside?
  15. I haven't tried Prvi Partisan. I only reported on brands I have direct experience with. I know Match Kings aren't magnetic.
  16. If you are doubting the grouping ability of a barrel, why are you using FMJ bullets? Hornady are the most consistent, but, it's not a bullet meant for precision. If a load using a Sierra 52 or 53 grain Match King, Hornady match bullets in the same weights doesn't group, then there is an issue. Don't pass judgment with cheap factory ammo using FMJ bullets of dubious quality.
  17. Looks like a little scuffing as the bolt rotated too. The primer is kind of flattened, not that it's uncommon.
  18. My success with Freedom Munitions was far less than stellar. The 55 V Max load was accurate, when primers didn't blow. They did send replacement ammo, but, I've been leery to shoot it. Fiocchi, PMC Bronze, or Wolf Gold may fill your requirements. Target Sports USA usually has all of them in stock, get some of each and see if they shoot well enough for you at distance.
