  1. Here's another view of it assembled. I use a long 3/8" drive pin for a handle.
  2. I use an 18", a friend uses a 16" that was shortened from a 20". A 55 ballistic tip with 25.5 grains of H335 should shoot well. I forgot about an upper that I loaned a friend, that has a 7" twist White Oak barrel, and the above load is what shoots well through that barrel. And, my wife's AR has another 7" twist White Oak barrel, and that shoots under 2" at 200 yards with a 1-4X Meopta on it with some old Black Hills 52 grain match loads.
  3. I run a 21" M2, with a 10 round tube, it's just fine. My Super Nova has a 26" barrel with a 10 round tube also. Don't pass up a good deal because of the perception that the barrel is too short, or too long. Kurt has been successful at the game too long to question his knowledge or ability.
  4. I would keep a spare barrel on hand, because you know the one on the rifle will go to hell just before an important match.
  5. It's not bullet weight, it's bullet quality that counts! Sierra 52 Match Kings shoot extremely well in 7" twist barrels. I use Nosler 55 Ballistic Tips and Hornady 55 V Max bullets at Rocky Mountain 3 Gun, which normally has targets out past 500 yards.
  6. Several trap shooting friends of mine had frozen choke tubes in their O/U's. I made a wrench from stainless steel with a Delrin pilot to keep it straight, then used a 3/8" x 10 long bar to get them out. The barrels were held in a vise with 3/8" thick urethane to keep from damaging the barrels.
  7. Shooters Source has 51 inch Nordic springs too.
  8. Another Luth AR user here. The adjustability is good, as is the weight. It's also reasonably priced.
  9. I know it is, How is the 40 degree shoulder for feeding?
  10. Will the Dasher feed from a box mag?
  11. Hits on mushrooms stuck to the box is -1 second. Small pizza boxes to simulate long distances?
  12. They may have a .625, .650 is a new one to me.
  13. I do know that the old rule of thumb was nothing slower than 4064 in a Garand.
  14. Just because someone is wearing a shirt that looks like a Nascar fender, doesn't make him sponsored, nor a "Pro"
  15. Accuracy is the key, not how fast it's going.
  16. I'll see you in August if all goes well with both of us. I need to sit down with you and tip a couple of cold ones. As to the real irons, Kurt Miller is the one that started allowing non magnified optics in his matches, and Kurt shoots real irons. I think Trapr and Mike Pinto may have been accomplices of Kurt's with that.
  17. I've seen people remove their holster with the pistol in it, and bag it. (ELS System). I've never seen or heard of tossing your belt over your shoulder with the pistol in the holster being "Okay". But, I'm just a lowly old guy not some "Pro" shooter.
  18. Wynn, my friend, I'lm going to try "Optical Irons: for some matches this year. You have even admitted to going to a .308 AR when you had trouble with your M1A, which has about the best irons on a battle rifle.
  19. I've used Cabela's cargo shorts with a 7" inseam. They've worked very well and are comfortable.
  20. File the tabs on the mag down a little at a time until they fit. No need to buy older mags when yours need a slight modification.
  21. It it's a Samson product, I am happy to be able to pick it on the prize table. Smaller diameter handguards are becoming more common with manufacturers, there are some advantages to them.
