  1. BB''s will get stuck, I learned this reloading shotgun. Stick with the pins.
  2. For some precision shooting, I match headstamp. For a step further you can match the weight of the cases.
  3. Look at berry''s 55 gr. They are plated, but seem to work nice. Better than cast, not as good as plated. If you already cast look into powder coating your bullets. I only cast pistol right now but the powder coating is not hard to do.
  4. Just wondering? Everyone seems worried about prefomance of spp in .45acp. I'm a poor shooter, so I have been loading spp45 for a while now. I only use them for my plinking and never had a problem with ignition or accuracy. Again just curious to find out what problems you have had?
  5. Let me know what shipping is? I don't shoot competition or crono my rounds. I have used them without any problems to acuracy.
  6. The bullets I cast, I also powder coat them so hopefully this will help with sizing. I plan on getting a lever gun so I need a flat nose profile.
  7. I have had it happen with too much bell. I think the case is wider than the crimp die.
  8. I'm into casting my bullets and wondering a good all around bullet I can use for 38 spl and 357? I just picked up a Single Action Army and My wife stole my S&W 686+ both are 357. So now I am ready to start reloading. So far I have been using berry's plated in 125gr fn, not bad at all. Not sure if I want to go heavier or stick with a light bullet for plinking?
  9. for night shooting stay away from power pistol, unless you want to be showy. I'm using it in my last batch of round and even in a lighted indoor range it has a very bright flash.
  10. +1 I did that day one on my press, so I don't know if it helped but never had a primer problem, I have to go knock on some wood now.
  11. Has it EVER done this with factory ammo? How new are the mags? If you have new mags and (even once) done it with factory ammo your mag spring tension could be tight or your follower is not running smooth. If it only does it with your reloads then check what the others here are saying.
  12. USPS will not do it. Loaded ammo and primed cases are not hazmat, only primers and powder. But I think it should go ups ground.
  13. One big point, OK two, make so it is comfortable standing. You can always find a stool to fit. Make sure, if you can, to bolt it to the wall. Solid bench and you will have less little problems.
  14. The search here is acting weird, but fartknocker found the info. Thanx!
  15. My fellow reloader at work has an older 550 with the single black bracket on the powder measure. He just purchased the latest and greatest powder measure. Can we juse change brackets for it to work like the original system? Is the pot metal main body part the same?
  16. I picked up a used powder measure today. It looks like the newest style with the 2 brackets for the fail safe, but has the return spring like the old style. Is there anything I need to do different or is it good to go on a 2015 RL550B with the fail safe rod?
  17. I load 9 different bullets right now. I am a 550 fan boy just for the fact caliber swaps are low cost and fast. The only thing better than a 550 is two 550s, one for each primer size. P.S. the rock chucked is something you keep forever, I have one and even with the 550, it still get plenty of use.
