  1. It still is Chuck, just the last day (3 stages) is on/off, off/on..
  2. But, if you drag it through dirty, won't it remove some of that pesky surface area inside the barrel, thus increasing the velocity of the rounds? You know, because of less friction.. Personally, I use a big tub of diesel fuel and a beach towel to clean my rifle. My A-Gunner hates the smell though.. But he always has a spare barrel, just in-case..
  3. Watched a fella this weekend shooting one and he loaded quads as normal at bolt lock. Pretty cool feature for sure..
  4. The EVO is NiB coated which is extremely light in the friction category, the Copperhead and C4V are much harder on the Vickers scale. I have them all and have shot them all, a lot. I can tell a difference in the EVO and the Black Diamond (when cleaning). The DLC and the PVD coatings are more expensive to produce which accounts for the cost difference, and the hardness of the coatings does add value. I have over 8,000 rounds on a Copperhead and there is absolutely no sign of wear. I have been running a Black Diamond for the past 3 months and it is simply amazing. Is it worth the price difference? That's really for you to decide. I can tell you that any of them will give you years of trouble free operation and the ease of cleaning will bring a smile to your face! One of the biggest benefits to what the folks at Iron City are doing is coating the cam pin, which I believe aids in the trouble free operation of the BCG's. If you are looking to order or have any questions, shoot me a note. I can save you 10% as well on all products at IronCity
  5. BTW, you will see the PayPal receipt as 2015oksectional.... We are just using the same account as last year. It's all good..
  6. Here it is.. August 6th. The 2016 Red Dirt Rumble will be 10 stages of Level 2 USPSA Awesomeness!! Greg Goode will be the Match Director once again and Chad Stanton and I will be doing the Range Master thing.. Max of 100 competitors and 30 staff. This match sold out very fast last year and we anticipate it selling out again. Please contact myself or Greg if interested in a staff slot. There will be some cool stuff for the staff this year.. We need 30, so lets do this thing.. When: August 6th Where: Oklahoma City Gun Club Stages: 10 Rounds: 250 Cost: $100 Divisions: All Approved USPSA Divisions Registration: http://matchsignup.o...php?matchid=603
  7. As well as 30-round rifle magazines only. When I shoot 3GN, I shoot Factory and it is a hoot. Planning out with reloads for all 3 guns is fun..
  8. It's Patrick Kelley. The wire retains if he TELLS it to!
  9. I use a DPMS Clamp-On http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/sights/rear-sights/detachable-rear-sight-prod5556.aspx I am pretty sure KurtM uses the exact same one (I copied his setup)
  10. Oh thanks Kurt, but I really only see him 1-2 times a month. I appreciate the accolades though. LOL Mitch, a 12-pack of Negra is about the going rate to get one filed down to the best width. Use that JP A2 clamp on right behind the comp and get that pin down to .040'ish. It's money for long range, which you will need here in a couple weeks.
  11. Folks, there are still 19 slots left for our IPSC Rifle match March 26th at the Oklahoma City Gun Club. Hurry and sign up while you still can. We will be shooting out to 300 and tough little shots out to 150 or so. There is 8 stages and ~200 rounds needed. Mr Kurt Miller and I have come up with some incredible stages, yes most of them were over a drink or two while on a pig hunting trip.. https://practiscore.com/ipsc-rifle-match-march-26th/register Only $40 entry and a lifetime of memories!!!
  12. I think its all about the ability to move faster in tighter spaces. I know, it's only an inch and a half, but I have to agree that transitions will be a split second faster and knowing me, I will get hung up in snow fence regardless so might as well shed some weight.. We were building specifically for USPSA PCC..
  13. 14.5" GMR-13 for me, recommended by the man himself..
  14. It would be closer to the starting capacity in those divisions. I agree with your comments for sure. We shall see what happens.
  15. They are awesome!!! I had never tried quadloading before I got em. I feel like I am keeping up with the guys (at match speed, not Youtube speed) and I haven't had any issue with shells falling off. The one thing I didn't know is that there are very few shells that are the same length! With the little rubber thing on the bottom of the holder and the ability to make small corrections by pulling it up or pushing it down is a life saver. The shells come out easy in the hand. I am using ELS clips and really like the setup.
  16. Wonder what the adoption would be if they were allowed in Limited and Tactical, say with iron sights and a limit to the amount of shells in magazines........
  17. Yeah, he never said it was comp'd.. Just a DVC..
  18. Couple things I really like about the Taccom. It's solid as can be so no worries about it coming apart if inserted into a dump barrel a little too hard. The end cap has a sling swivel stud on it so for that one or two times a year you need a SG sling, you don't need to worry about your slug POI with a clamp/stud addition. The end cap also works as a +1 for the factory tube for hunting, if you were so inclined. We covered the modularity already. It provides a little bit of weight out front for running in the +5 configuration for factory.
  19. It is the exact bag that Ernie Hill is selling. I have one. Its just a shade bigger than the small DAA, but a lot less rigid. The Pockets are good sized and accessible, but the zippers are not as stout as the DAA and the material feels like it would wear/rip faster than the DAA. It is much lighter than others and rides on the back well. It has a large pocket right behind the shoulder straps that you can put a gun in a sleeve, and my open gun fits fine. The bottom compartment is lined with plastic for bullet boxes and I have had 6 of the 9mm 100-round boxes in there. It is certainly not as big as the large DAA, but has more room than the medium for sure. I have had mine for a while and it is holding up well. All in all its a great value and I wouldn't hesitate recommending one.
  20. Mike of the options I listed above, the SX3 is one Im seriously considering inspite of my reads last night. It came from a tested platform and maker FN/win. But so is the 1301 by Beretta and M1 by Benelli. I may not have limits in budget but for its price vs 1301 and m1, and if it will do what the other two can Im all for it. So far Im depending soley on you guys in this forum to hopefully make the right decision. As of this time I have zero experience on them but heres my take on my options: 1301: 3-5 months to availability. Almost ready to race. For Open, I will add a rail, reddot, +7 extn tube, 2 chokes. SX3: readily available. Set up for hunting but can be raced and as of this time Im more on shooting and learning/training. Add rail, reddot, +7 or 8 (how many rounds in stock tube to make 12?), lowest priced. M1 Practical: readily available. Ready to race. Except Add a reddot, need to replace tube to make it 12 rnds as its not ready(?) fo have an extension, most expensive, double the cost of SX3. Cannot be used in other divs except Open, which Im gonna be ( but who knows later?). Wont shoot light and moderate loads. So far these are the things in my so confused undecided and newbie mind Bottom line, I need and want something thats reliable and durable that can at least race. Understood. I shoot an M1 now for Limited/Factory/Tac-Iron, whatever the name is today... I don't think you will go wrong with any of them. Please keep in mind that a shotgun is only as good as the fit is to the shooter, so make sure it either fits you out of the box, or you get some help getting it fitted to YOU..
