  2. The beauty part is we are just in the infancy of planning so we can change whatever we need to. I am just the dummy that is doing planning and such. Comstock sounds good to me.
  3. That's right. An IPSC style rifle match at the Oklahoma City Gun Club (www.okcgunclub.org) March 26th @ 9:00am. Sign in will start at 8:00 at the USPSA clubhouse and then we will proceed to the high-power/silhouette range directly at 9:00 to get going. We will then move back to our side of the range for the last 5-6 stages. We will shoot 7 or 8 courses of fire, close to 200 rounds (I might bring a few more) with ranges from a couple yards to possibly out to 550 yards. We will recognize Standard and Open for the match. Standard is iron sights only. The IPSC rules are posted here : https://www.ipsc.org.../RulesRifle.pdf. This will be a fun and exciting match that will test all of your rifle shooting skills. You will get dirty, you will need a sling, you will have a blast!!! This won't be a track meet match, but it will be tough nonetheless. Scoring will be Comstock. So that means no cumulative time scoring. Each stage will have a max points value as to not take someone completely out of the match for a malfunction or some other strange reason he/she has trouble on a stage. (You are welcome Jesse) We will post stages early so you know what type of COF's will be involved for practice.. If you aren't familiar with shooting from the sitting and kneeling positions, might want to get there. We will signup through practiscore and I will post the link just as soon as we have it all setup. I suspect this match will fill up pretty quick so keep your eye out for more information. 4. I like having it, just in case. My LM BCG's have forward assist though (Iron City). If you aren't losing anything by having it, why not?
  5. If nothing else, we got Eric and VC Jimmy to post more today on the forum than ever before!! Winning!
  6. I heard that Kurt Miller guy still loads weak hand, he obviously doesn't know anything!!! Iron City is giving a Ti firing pin away with their carriers this weekend. Looks like a pretty good deal. Their carriers look pretty awesome. Hopefully I will have one soon for my own.
  7. The very back of the follower is .522 and the spot right before the step down is .520. This is consistent across all of mine.. Hope that helps
  8. I am not sure I heard that anywhere in this thread..... Resuming practice....
  9. I have been running MBX since they came out. The last two 9mm 140's I received had followers that were just a little wide in the back and causing the backside of the follower to stop short of top travel. I measured them against my old ones that work great and they were close to .0075 wider. It was making the follower rise in the front dramatically on the last round. I filed just a hair off each side of the rear of the follower and they are 100% perfect.
  10. But... Who else is shooting "Real" limited? Irons for the win!!
  11. That 124 load in my gun is dead on at 200m and can hit the practice ram in the head when properly executed. I bet it's going to be plenty accurate for what you are trying to do.. Good luck and please reach out to us that have been down the whole 9mm Open bullet testing road before.. It'll save you a lot of work in the long run..
  12. Yeah, you'll probably end up with a 9lb for that load. Glad you "bit the bullet" and went with the MG 124's and WAC. It sure is refreshing that when someone asks advice on here, they actually take it!! It doesn't look like there are any holes in the barrel so working up a load with the information posted in your other thread should be pretty easy. Good luck and have fun!! If you need another 140 that runs great, let me know, I may have one or two sitting around.. Mike
  13. Now.. If we could only get a Level IV Rifle match here in the states.. Wonder if anyone would participate..... Would love to have a few with Raine on this side of the pond...
  14. So a little disclaimer... I have a 7-port stainless comp on my 9 Open gun, so I need a little more pressure to work the comp at its best.. I use the 115's and HS-6 because of this. If you look at the Open Nationals stats, almost 80% of the 9mm Major loads were using 124's. If I had a shorter, lighter comp, I think the 124's with WAC are the best combination. The beauty of the 115's with HS-6 is that the dot really never leaves, the bad part is that you have to really drive the gun in transitions. The 124's and the 115's with WAC gave me just enough muzzle rise to make the transitions a little more effortless. It is fun though having your dot stay in the A zone on a target at 15 yards through recoil..
  15. Precision Delta are fine bullets for sure, but your pricing may be off from a case perspective. $340/4000 for PD 115JHP (unless you get some killer discount) versus MG $365/4000 case price makes the Montana Gold a negligible cost difference. WAC is great for 124's but HS-6 feels much better with the lighter bullets for sure. I have only shot about 60,000 rounds out of this current open gun I have, but the perfect combination for me is 8.6gr HS-6 with a MG 115JHP at 1.160". It will literally make a ragged hole at 50 (from a rest 'cause I don't shoot that good) and is 171PF on any chrono. I would highly recommend the JHP over the FMJ for not only accuracy, but for the complete coating. Just my $.02 and as always, your mileage may vary.. Good luck with the new gun.. Mike
  16. I have a BlackDog 9mm open gun that shoots both very well. I have a longer Stainless 7 port comp that's very heavy. I have to run 115's at about 170 PF to stabilize the dot but it'll shoot minor loads without as much as a spring change. I think the weight helps. It's a 5.4 Shumann with no holes. YMMV.
  17. I haven't seen anywhere less than makereadyproshop.com, but that's only a buck. I think dealer cost on these is very close to the retail price. IMHO the mags are completely worth it.
  18. Got the "you are in" email this morning!!! See you all there.

  20. A word about the free slots. There is a good chance next years sectional will be all divisions as well as a prize table and a longer shooting format. The value of the entries could be close to $150 each.. See you all tomorrow/Sunday!
  21. Jake, I would like to request that you talk to the powers to be and have the rain hold off until after the match! Thanks! See you tomorrow!
  22. I am running MBX and have since they came out. I still use one 170 that has the old spring and follower and I have one that has the new setup. They both run great with 30 in the tube. No spacers needed but I only load to 1.160 since my 140's are still STI mags with spacers. FWIW, I also run the MBX 140's in Limited and have zero issues..
