  1. We are over 1/2 full already for the match and it's filling up fast.. Please, if you register and don't see an email with payment instructions, reach out to area4@uspsa.org and we will make sure we get the instructions in your hands. Apparently a lot of providers are sending Practiscore emails directly to their filters for junk email.. Glock has come onboard again this year as a Match Sponsor!! That means more guns for Division/Class winners (as available). Mike
  2. There will be CO for sure. I’ll have to investigate. Thanks for the heads up!

  4. Sign up starts Monday. Remember, this is going to be a full on 1st class Area match and the registration fee is only $150. Last year we left over 100 people on the waitlist, so sign up early. Mike
  5. September 14-16 2018 at the Old Fort Gun Club in beautiful Van Buren Arkansas, just outside Ft Smith. This will be a 12 stage Level 3 Championship with ~275 rounds as well as chrono. This year we will do prizes in order of finish and awards will be given at the awards ceremony on Sunday around noon. We will shoot a 9 and 3 schedule for the weekend and an all day Friday option. When: 9/14-9/16 Staff shoot 9/13 Where: Old Fort Gun Club, Van Buren AR What: 12 stages plus chrono, 275 rounds Cost: $150 adults and $100 juniors (under 18 at time of match). Yes, you read that right. An Area match for $150 with a match t-shirt and awards for division and class finish. 2017 division and class winners, please contact me prior to signing up for a discounted rate. Hotel: Information will be coming soon. We are in process of negotiating the best price possible Lunch: Will be available on the range. If we can make it work, it will be included in match fee Registration: PractiScore.com open on 1/1 I learned quite a bit after a very successful 2017 match about what needs to be changed to accommodate competitors even better. Match Staff: please contact me at area4@uspsa.org for information. Last years Staff has first priority. Staff cutoff will be 5/1. Mike
  6. Sorry about that. It might be getting flagged as you suspect. I was in the final throws of my Area Match so it may have been missed in th shuffle, but I will Check again. If anyone sends the comments to me, if you wouldn’t mind following up here, I’ll make sure to be on the lookout just in case it does go into a black hole. Mike
  7. Who did you all send your feedback to? Most of what we received were grammatical errors and clarification comments that are being worked.. If you all have any comments or questions, shoot to me at area4@uspsa.org and we'll make sure to get them addressed. The consensus is that it's been pretty quiet since the drafts were released, but I want to make sure we address comments.. Mike
  8. So can we pay at the match if we are squadded but don't show as paid?
  9. We thought it would be pretty cool to name stages after our awesome sponsors products. There is one that's a little different but folks that know Tony at MRPS will understand. I included the WSB's since they are the official stage procedures and descriptions. Thanks and see everyone up there next week!
  10. The new version has been submitted for posting. I apologize folks, between trying to make accommodations for our Houston shooters and putting the finishing touches on things, we missed a typo or two. It should be good to go now. Please bring Chad and I plenty of Sugar Free Red Bulls!! 101-110 - Friday all day, starting at 8:00am 201-210 - Saturday morning starting at 8:00am, 6 stages. Starting last 6 stages on Sunday at 12:00pm 301-310 - Saturday afternoon starting at 12:00pm, 6 stages. Starting Sunday morning at 8:00am for the last 6 stages. Mike
  11. Just a typo. Squad 301-310 will start Saturday afternoon. Squad 301 on stage 1, etc. sorry for the error. My fault completely. We will get it updated.
  12. The Match Book for the Area 4 Championship will be posted on the website today as well as distributed via social media (FaceBook in-particular) The attachment is too large for the forum here but if you would like a copy, shoot me an email at area4@uspsa.org and I will try and get it sent out. Best bet is to check the website tonight and see it live and in living color... Please enjoy.. As noted, Thursday, Friday and Saturday AM squads will have a short 10 minute meeting at 7:30am. Saturday Afternoon squads will have theirs at 11:30. All of the meetings will take place at the west end of the big tent. Please make sure to check in at registration (north side of the main clubhouse) before proceeding to the range. There is a mandatory waiver for anyone entering the range that must be signed (USSA Rules).. Thanks and I look forward to seeing you all next week!! Mike
  13. I am sorry you feel that way. That last line is somewhat out of character from when I met you at my Sectional, which ironically had the same policy, but it didn't seem like a big deal to you then. You are right, the MD position can be as difficult as you make it. Being a competitor can be as difficult as you make it as well..
  14. So you were going to walk the stages all day long? Yes, it has been a problem in the past couple matches I have shot, a huge problem. Stage props were moved at the last Sectional I shot which changed the stage significantly but wasn't caught until halfway through the next squad. Nobody said you can't watch the staff shoot, nobody said you can't see the stages up close and personal, I am however saying that you cannot enter the stage shooting area until after folks are done shooting for the day. Doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. Trust me Mr Perez, hopefully someone that thinks they can do it better should take over the position for next year as the pay and benefits suck.
  15. Also, one thing to note, and this will be specified and reiterated at check-in. Stages will NOT be available for walking until AFTER the shooting is complete each day. Anyone physically on a stage during competition that is not shooting in that scheduled rotation will be warned. If they have to be reminded again, they will get to go home.. There are many reasons for this, but mainly because we are not going to play the "waiting for people just walking through" game when it's the squads turn to take a look and preliminary walk through during the match. This includes Thursday during the staff shoot. I am hoping for a 3-4pm finish time so we can get you all out there and wandering uninhibited. Mike
  16. Thats why I specified these were rough. The one in question has a fault line around the see saw. You can shoot one footed if you like, but any contact with the ground is outside the shooting area.. Please review these as rough drafts. The finals will be in the match book and will be validated for all of the information, etc..
  17. Stages..... Not in final format, but these are the stages that will be on the ground... 2017 Area 4 Stages V4 Alt Stg 1.pdf
  18. And they will be rough sketches of the stages but will have exact round counts. No need to have 400 folks looking at a drawing that's wrong if we need to change it around a bit for safety, flow, etc.
  19. Unless it's an all clays stage or the targets are all close. At this years MG Nationals, I only used LM on one stage. But at RM3G last year, I used 100% LM. It's all about the stage and what is best.
  20. Yep, set you an email seeing if you wanted to sell your slot before you forfeited the $180 I can resend.
  21. Since my email apparently ruffled some feathers about the prize table, I must clear something up. The Division winners will be receiving an additional prize from our friends at Walther Arms as well as a couple others. So if you want to guarantee yourself a gun, win your division.
  22. The match is full. We have 76 on the waitlist as of this morning, however, we will get a group that drops out. If you are available to shoot with the RO's on Thursday, and can pack a crapload of macadamia nuts in your luggage, let's talk!!
