  1. I really like the Ergo Tactical Deluxe grips. I haven't used a LaRue A-PEG so I can't be sure, but from photos it looks like the Ergo is a bit more vertical. I've also used BCM Mod 3 grips and can say that the Ergo Tactical Deluxe is definitely not as vertical. I'm with you - I like a palm-filling grip with a reduced angle. For me, the Ergo is the best I've found so far, but would prefer if it were a bit more vertical. I'd be interested to hear if there are other options.
  2. The Hiperswitch does, in fact, work with Hiperfire triggers. I'm running one with with a 24C on my AR - seems to work well so far. It has a 60deg throw and is ambidextrous.
  3. I use a folding wagon from Costco. I like it better than the stroller option - seems to hold more stuff.
  4. I just picked up a Leupold VX-6 HD with the green FireDot BDC reticle. Haven't had a chance to run it yet, but so far I like what I'm seeing. I know the Razor is considered the benchmark, and while I've looked through one a few times and it's certainly a great scope, it doesn't exactly meet my needs. Since I'm color-blind, I have a really hard time picking-up the red illumination on the Razor. The green FireDot on the other hand is definitely daylight-bright for me and I can see it much more easily. I also like that the Leupold is way lighter (pretty sure it's by far the lightest in it's class). The glass, eyebox, and field of view all seem comparable. I also like that the turrets are 1/4-MOA per click vs 1/2-MOA and it comes with the option of a custom dial (kinda redundant with a BDC reticle, but I don't mind having options). Yes, the turrets are exposed, but they are locking so I don't see that as a big deal. I was able to buy the Leupold up for a good price and it came with really nice scope caps and a throw lever, so with some careful shopping, it think it can be an overall better value.
  5. If it's a Gen 4 or earlier, I would suggest changing the slide lock spring periodically. I install a new one in my Gen 3 guns when I replace the RSA between 3k-5k rounds. It's not a part that breaks terribly often, but when it does, your slide will fly forward onto the ground and you may have trouble removing the broken bit still in the frame. I've mostly heard of this happening in G19s, but it's cheap insurance and they are easy to install. I replace all other springs around 10k rounds.
  6. Could try reinstalling your gas block using this tool to ensure alignment: UNIQUETEK - AR-15 GAS BLOCK ALIGNER
  7. HiViz Tricomp for me too. Using the green triangle pipe on my M3K.
  8. How about some Talon grip material? They sell sheets of 5"X7" and 1"X4" in either rubber or granulate that you can cut to size for your application.
  9. My friend's son was just featured in Hometownlife.com and will have a print version of the article published in his local newspaper. It's nice to see some positive press on junior shooters!
  10. I've been running a pair of Invictus Practical Rack-12Qs this year. So far I'm really happy with them.
  11. It looks like this scope is available with a couple different FireDot reticles. I haven't looked through these, but I do have a couple Mark AR scopes with the FireDot and they are definitely daylight-bright.
  12. I like the Vickers Tactical mag release. It's long enough, but not so long that you will accidentally actuate it.
  13. Not yet. I'm color blind and in not sure if the red dot for us going to work for me. I just got a Holosun 510c Elite with the green reticle for my AR to use in UML Limited so I'm going to see how that works out and go from there. I appreciate all the advice on this thread.
  14. I haven’t had this problem personally as I don’t do anything to my Glock triggers, but I do know of at least two other people that have had their Glocks eventually go full auto after nothing more than polishing (or so they claim).
  15. I ended up not using the SGA stock because it changed the fit of the gun too much for me. I use the 65mm shim with the factory stock and in that configuration the gun fits me well from a eye-to-bore perspective. When I put the SGA on, it seemed like I would need a 70mm shim, which, of course, doesn't exist. I did love the grip angle and the ability to adjust the length of pull - it just didn't seem to fit me well.
  16. I'm using it, and like the feel, but am still playing with finding the best position for it. I like it at the bottom for precision shots, but I like it a little higher for hosing (slightly less finger travel and snappier feel). Maybe the answer is to get rid of it and be free to position my finger where needed? For those of you that use it, which notch do you run it on?
  17. Can you compare and contrast these two scopes? How do the glass, reticle, and eyeboxes compare? Let's assume the price is equal - is it safe to assume you would go with the PST Gen II?
  18. I'm using a Gen 3, 34 with the factory "-" connector. I'm pretty happy with this setup and am not willing to sacrifice reliability by using lighter striker springs.
  19. If you really just want to supplement with electrolytes and not bother with sugary drinks, I'm a fan of Hammer Endurolytes capsules.
  20. Is there any reason to get the original Razor HD GEN II over the lighter weight "E" model?
  21. I installed the SGA stock onto my M3K yesterday and thought I’d share some tips on the process. To remove the factory stock screw, I threaded three nuts onto the end of the shaft and tightened them against one another (the shaft is fine threaded for M8 X 1). I applied some heat to the end of the shaft from the inside of the receiver using a soldering iron. Then, applying torque to the innermost of the three nuts, the shaft unscrewed easily. To install the MOA adapter screw, I used a short 5/16 – 18 hex head screw and some washers threaded into the SGA mounting hole to tighten the adapter into the receiver - the 5/16 screw backed out fine without loosening the adapter. Also, I’m using Vibratite VC-3 on the portion of the adapter that threads into the receiver so that if I ever have to remove it, it won’t be glued in with Loctite. When I was test-fitting the stock, I was able to remove the adapter screw by wrapping it with a very wide and thick rubber band (5/8-inch wide) and using a pair of pliers – it came out easily and without any marks. Hope this helps!
  22. I was able to play with an SGA stock and it answered my questions. There appears to be plenty of freedom for the attachment screw to rotate to whatever angle it needs to. How is the comfort of the Magpul recoil pad compared to the factory Stoeger pad?
  23. Just wanted to give an endorsement of Stoeger/Benelli customer service. As mentioned above, I recently purchased an M3K Freedom Series. Right out of the box I was having problems with ejection – with Federal Heavy Field Loads and Winchester Universal it was basically a single shot through 75 rounds. I called Stoeger and their representative was polite and apologetic. He said he wasn’t surprised about the Winchester Universal but said it should run the Federal Field Loads with no problems and said he would like to have the gun back to look at it and provided a pre-paid shipping label. Turn around time was a little over a week and the paper work said they replaced the extractor (which looks like a Benelli extractor to me). I just took it back out last night and it was 100% through 135 rounds (50 of which were Winchester Universal). I’m really happy with the gun now and with Stoeger CS.
  24. I’m interested in making this conversion to my M3K, but I’m not clear on how the adapter enables use of the factory shims. As I understand it, the MOA thread-adapter screws into the receiver, the factory shim sits against the receiver, and then the MOA spacer sits on top of that. Since the Magpul attachment screw has no choice but to be in-line with the adapter (which is square to the receiver) the only way you can have adjustment is if there is play in the SGA screw hole, of which there doesn’t appear to be very much. And if that is in fact how it works, won’t the SGA attachment screw head be at an angle to the bearing surface making for a less than ideal joint? Or does it just crush the SGA plastic to match the shim angle?
  25. Hard to pick a favorite, but I would have to say, The Matrix.
