  1. I bought and tried the PC series 1 jig and never had good luck with it. Mostly because I could never get the sear level and the primary angle was screwed up as a result. I ended up buying the ED brown, I standardized on EGW sears and took my time learning to cut the secondary angle. I've been very happy with the result.
  2. I started out with a plastic gripped gun and then had a custom gun built with an SV aggressive grip and the difference is remarkable. The metal grip fits my hand better, adds weight to the gun which ( I believe) helps manage recoil better. I'll never own another 2011 without a metal grip. That being said, There is a hunge difference between the companies that make metal grips. If I was to rank them based on how they fit my hand, SV would be number 1, PT #2, Cheely #3.
  3. Check this stuff out. https://www.vibra-tite.com/threadlockers/removable-reusable-threadlockers/vibra-tite-vc-3-threadmate/
  4. Oddly, Dillon does not have a video for the 1050 but this one is pretty good.
  5. Welcome. I'm behind enemy lines as well and know my way around a 1050.
  6. This is what I use. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-12-5-in-Padded-Ballistic-Nylon-Zipper-Tool-Bag-5139B/100647948
  7. The only problem I have had with my STI mags was due to the bullet impacting the bottom of the ejector casing the bullets to nosedive and jam the gun. Once I had the right clearance, everything ran 100%.
  8. Pulled this from another BENOS thread..10-32x1/4 button head cap screw
  9. Can you take one of the screws from the bottom of the grip and use it? The other option is to take the other screw out to see if they have something at fastenal that would work.
  10. If it aint broke there is no need to start swapping parts unless there is something you specifically want to accomplish. You can lower the pull weight without changing parts. That being said, if you want to upgrade to known parts for piece of mind, that is a different story. The brazos trigger kit is excellent.
  11. They thought they could do better? I kid!!!!!, I kid... BTW I bought a few of yours and am super happy with the quality. Thanks for making great products!
  12. Not sure what powder you are using but my n320 load for 180 gr is 4.7 and my 200gr load is 4.2 grains loaded at 1.2. the 200 grain load chonos at 168 PF.
  13. This guy makes a take down and assembly video. Give it a shot.
  14. I did get a response back from the Smith and was advised that SV trigger bows suck and need to be modified in order to work. Honestly, I ran that trigger in the same grip for several thousand rounds without any such mod and it ran fine. I ended up replacing the trigger bow and everything is running as expected now. 15. About $1350 but I had him build me a new gun (with original slide) and chose the most expensive coating option You can get a tune up and with a new barrel, slide lightening and re coat for less. Call Bobby. He is great at discussing options over the phone. Btw I got this gun last Wednesday and ran 700 rounds through it and it runs perfect and is extremely accurate. 16. You could always send it to Bobby at freedom gunworks and have him tune it up for you. I had him install a kkm barrel in mine along with slide lightening. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  17. You never know.. had to ask. I can't think of a single reason why it would be stuck other than rust. Put some penetrating oil on it and let it sit for a few days to see if that helps. I hear kroil is pretty good. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  18. Are the little white locking tabs and the screws removed? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  19. What happens if you shoot a .401 diameter bullet? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  20. You do get a year warranty with the 1050 and if you maintain the machine and have a decent preventive maintenance process, it will probably outlast you. Mine works like a champ along with my mark 7. The service from mark 7 has been excellent.
  21. Thanks for that reply. Now i understand why that would have been done.m
  22. Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure if this was some sort of "smith" trick that was meant to make trigger better or something like that. BTW this SV trigger was designed for the STI plastic grip.
  23. Just had some custom work on a pistol and I noticed the trigger felt a little strange so I broke the gun down and found that the trigger bow had been bent pretty signicantly. For the life of me, I can't figure out why this was done unless this is an old school gunsmith trick? If it is, what problem does it solve? I installed a new trigger and the trigger is as it should be. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
