  1. Looking for other people's take overall the match went fairly well, I had 2 mikes one on a hard head that I didn't call good and the second on the stage were I got a bad leg cramp and didn't call the shot. my observations Movement needed to be more aggressive i missed my positioning a couple times I struggled a little bit with having sandy bays not something I am used to
  2. Personally I felt the match was too much gimmick and highly doubt I will shoot it again next year, I just didn't really care for the stages. I felt 2015 and 2016 were bad enough but still fun. my issues with it were: too many stages were track meets the noodles were stupid the swinging 3 target thing (I pulled it too softly so maybe my fault but I don't like it) the stage you started holding the rope was screwed for a lefty I shot the IL sectional this weekend and I felt it was a far better shooting challenge
  3. I use clear all the time, but when I get a chance to get to the eye doctor I would like to have some made with the transition lenses so they tint slightly.
  4. While improving fitness ness can never hurt odds are shooting/moving sooner is going to make a bigger difference. i used Bens dry fire entry drills from the book to work on shooting sooner. as for transitions shooting Blake drills helped me, I just try to keep them about the same as my bill drill times. in dry fire I would focus on moving my eyes and making the gun show up where I was looking.
  5. If you are buying new both Dawson and Brazos offer tuned mags
  6. Only thing I can add is I try to not vary from my normal, so if I have been drinking a cup of coffee every morning I drink one on the way to the match. Like the above I find drinking a bottle of water every stage helps a lot and I try to eat a granola bar or similar every couple of stages. as for food i normally grab something quick as I don't normally eat breakfast during the week.
  7. I left my holster and Mag position the same as single stack this year to make the transition easier and I also plan to switch to production next year.
  8. I am am out of KC but would be interested
  9. I also left out both this year and last I shot SS for 3 months until after nationals so I wasn't shooting limited for 6 months of that. like anything you will get out of it why you put into it.
  10. Mill creek has the better outdoor range and Pioneer has a 24/7 indoor range lime an earlier poster said pick an area that has the best commute and preferable schools if you have children.
  11. Started shooting Uspsa around march of 2015 made C class in June I think shooting production. bought a limited gun that winter and went from B class to master in limited in around 15 months 2015 I did t practice and very little dryfire 2016 I practice 500ish rounds every couple weeks and dryfired around 15-30 mins a day 3-4 days a week. Likely would have bumped faster had I not been unable to shoot or hold a gun for a month last June/July due to a motorcycle accident. it took a structured dry fire plan for me along with some live fire.
  12. I have taken one one class in the past I will look into another
  13. Thanks! But always trying to improve. Preparing for my first limited nationals this year.
  14. Looking to to see what low hanging fruit you guys see compared to what I feel are my week points. Match was clean with A 117 B 7 C 20 D 1 What at I see: movement is rough, I don't get shooting as soon as I should due to not coming in ready. It doesn't look remotely smooth. Steel had way too many make up shots costing me a lot of time on short stages
  15. Cheaper than buying a second one when you cut too much. i think gans has a price sheet on his website
  16. As for the grip decide if you like the weight. I don't like it on my limited guns but a lot of people love the steel grips. If you are having the gun built, may just see what your gunsmith prefers. Both my cheely and bedell have schuemen barrels
  17. gans is still taking work I think, also ask around locally, you may have a smith near you that can handle it.
  18. I use a bladetech on a boss hanger, the RHT I have seen look nice as well and his mount works similar to the Boss hanger.
  19. Lately in practice when cold I am down around 1-1.1 once warmed up I am seeing .85-.95 2011 out of a bladetech haven't checked the time in a match but guess would be around 1.1-1.2
  20. As said above EGW is pretty much the way to go for the ignition parts. I like the ed brown GS and Wilson high ride thumb safety. Slide stop egw also makes a good one.
  21. I believe it will be cut same as an STI.. going off the Ed brown beaver tails they use on CK guns and Matt used on his customs
  22. Are you following a good dri fire plan? What I see in all the videos loosing a lot of time in movement drawing the gun when you get to the first position Standing still reloading instead of moving transitions burned a lot of time
  23. Good match and well ran, weather sucked for mornings last year but was nice afternoons. I decided to switch to afternoons for this year also to avoid taking Friday off work.
