  1. I changed mine out a couple of weeks ago. I have one spring in the front, as this was someones recommendation. So far at the range no issues, but have not shot a match with it yet.
  2. Are you shooting Ltd Major? or Prod Minor? What's your rating? (A, B, C?) Right Now I am a D shooter in both Limited (Major) and Production. That is a combined total for the year.
  3. Yeah I know that one of my issues is I go too fast. I have been working on this and am seeing results. As some one who is still new to the sport, less than 2 years, and has only been doing one match a month, I am ok with this as a bench mark. Now that I am able to get to more matches I can really work on slowing down and getting my hits.
  4. Ok so being as I am a data nerd at work I figured I'd have some fun and do some data collection of my match shooting this year. As I am developing this tracker with excel, access, and tableau, I have noticed that I am hitting about 59% of my hits are Alphas. Has anyone else done something similar to what I am doing? If so how far did you break down the data?
  5. I have the 5.11 large Range bag and it works fantastic. For matches i have that, a cooler, and a few other items in one of the canvas wagons you get at Dick's Sporting goods. Since i've gone to the wagon it just seems to make things easier. On days where it looks like rain I can add the umbrella and rain covers.
  6. I'm with CHA-LEE. I have both sti mags with TTI parts and MBX mags. I had to do some tuning with the STI but nothing with MBX. I only buy MBX Mags now as they are ready to go out of the bag, and in the rare event you get one that is not, the customer service is great to work with.
  7. By the look of the web address in the inside of the neck I would say it looks like a techwear shirt.
  8. Solomon speedcross 3 when its dry and another pair of solomons that are goretex when it's wet and muddy here in fla
  9. I run the TTI on my Glock factory mags. I have not had any problems with them not dropping or rounds feeding. I had to indent the ZEV Maxwell insert to allow the pin to clear of the base pads.
  10. Any one know when the open signup will be? I know slots were suppose to be paid for by the 15th.
  11. Marshall actually made a set of amps after this movie was released that went to 20. Well it's 9 louder now isn't it!
  12. Ok do any of you keep the plastic boxes that your pistols come in? Right now once a buy something new it goes into the safe. Any paper stuff goes into a file box and the box gets put up in the attic. When I carry the gun to the range it goes into a sleeve and then in my range bag, If I travel it goes into a better hard case like a SKB or Plano box. Is there really any need to keep the old plastic box?
  13. Look to see if your local club does a Intro to action pistol class. I did that at my local club and it was great. We spent about an hour in a classroom and then shot two stages. It was a great way to get used to how a match is run and goes over the basic rules. Now at most clubs they will ask for new shooters and then pair you up with someone to show you the ropes. Just remember these things: 1. Finger off the trigger unless you are engaging targets 2. Don't break the 180 rule. 3. Take your time. No one expects you to set a record pace. 4. Ask questions. Most other shooters will help you out. 5. Have fun. That's why most of us do it.
  14. I actually went with a DVC Open in 38 Super. I am not reloading and the cost of buying ammo from Atlanta Arms is the actually less if I buy the case of 38 Super Comp vs 9mm Major. Most of the people I know who shoot 9mm Major are reloading and most when asked said if they were not reloading they would shoot 38 super.
  15. John where are you shooting out of? Do you shoot at WAC or do you do the Ruskin matches?
  16. RLSWOOD - No 2011 parts that I have found in Tampa. I have had to order everything online. There is a new range in Tarpon Springs that has become an STI dealer, and that's about as close as you are going to get. Most of the shops will order for you, but don't carry anything.
  17. Started with Ghost holders and switched to CR Speed. Now I have the CR as my Limited/Open set up with one Magnet in front. I still use the Ghost set up for Production, and have a CR set up for Single stack.
  18. Hello all. Mike here. Just joined the forum and wanted to say hello. I shoot mostly USPSA down in the Tampa area. Right now mostly Production and Limited. I just picked up a DVC Open in 38 Super and will be shooting some Open as well. If anyone has any tips on how to run the DVC Open please let me know. I'm running it Stock with Atlanta Arms 38 Super, 125 gr Major load. Thanks in advance.
