  1. Should be allowed per this: (If you want th be sure send an email to John Amidon) (FromUSPSA rules Appendix D4) 21.5 Exchange of minor INTERNAL components INTERNAL parts: This clause is NOW interpreted (strikers, sears, springs, connectors/disconnectors, to mean that a broad range of INTERNAL parts may and other wholly-internal parts) be modified or replaced – either with OEM or aftermarket parts. Special Notes/Clarifications: • Strikers, sears, springs, connectors/disconnectors, and any other part which is NOT visible when the gun is in battery is considered an INTERNAL part and may be modified or replaced unless otherwise prohibited in these provisions (see section 22 for specific prohibitions). • Guide rods are considered an “internal part” and may be modified and/or replaced with OEM or aftermarket guide rods even though part of the guide rod is externally visible when the gun is in battery. Note that the weight limits in D4-18 remain in force and relevant. Edited to add appendix
  2. I also like "chair-keyboard interface problem", most people still don't get it.
  3. Does the mark match the back of the guide rod? It looks like the guide rod head damaged the link area on the barrel. I would get it checked out by a competent gunsmith.
  4. I use Hornady One shot on straight wall cases, Dillon lube on bottle neck cases.
  5. Feel your pain too, I fix machines (including computers), get asked to fix many different things... (IT dept doesn't work on Control system computers...)
  6. Too tight is a common issue, you can try expanding the collet slightly and see if that fixes it.
  7. That is possible, more likely would be the collet is too tight. It is also very possible to jam the collets and have no release. Hornady should be able to correct either issue for you.
  8. Primers are designed to go off with an impact and are explossive, smokeless powder is classified as a propellent (as stated above smokeless powder only explodes if it is contained, and this would be due to the containing vessel failing at a high pressure).
  9. I agree with this, for 3 gun matches I use tec locks (not on the holster though). For USPSA I use a dedicated rig with velcro on the backs like Sarge. (To me the Tec locks add too much bulk for the USPSA rig.)
  10. Check out this topic, especially post 15. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=167602&hl=%2Bhornady+%2Bfeed+%2Bdie#entry1872830
  11. You could try moving with a laser pointer also, it takes a bit of practice to keep the laser on target while moving.
  12. -8 at the house this morning, got up to a balmy 32 in the afternoon.
  13. On mine the dominate eye is set for front sight distance, the non-dominate eye is set for distance. I have found that as long as the dominate eye focuses correctly on the front sight it works very well. YMMV
  14. When the focus lenght is correct on the dominate eye the glasses work very well.
  15. Guy Hammond Comps in the early 80's (I don't recall the year), Clark Pin gun - also early 80's. edited to add-(Powderfinger may remember)
  16. I use CMC Power Mags, they have been 100% reliable and I like the weight better than the Wilson mags.
  17. Not clear what you mean by this, if you don't activate them you get the miss penalties. Rule- 9.9.3 Moving scoring targets will always incur failure to shoot at and miss penalties if a competitor fails to activate the mechanism which initiates the target movement.
  18. I saw a comment like Pat's in a magazine article a few years ago refering to bench Vs Machine rest, might have been from Mas, I don't recall. Concerning offhand Vs bench, Robbie told me a few years ago that his offhand groups were about 2 times the size of his Bench groups. (edited for spelling)
  19. Also no advice, hope you have a speedy recovery though.
  20. Merry Christmas to you also. Also note that Jessie Duff made GM, so it is definitely possible. A running average function could show this very well... (Have to do that sometimes when analyzing signals that are too noisy to see what is happening.)
