  1. very nice set up. very neat and organized. nothing like mine are those multi use cat litter buckets that I see? ask me how I know--lol enjoy your reloading.
  2. the deciding factor for me was the way Wayne designed the decap pin and how it is screwed into the decap pin shaft rather than just inserted. I do not see much different in my cases( for now anyway) between my redding pro series decap/size die and the MA die. However the biggest issue I had with the redding and even my dillon decap/size die was the decap pin getting stuck over and over in the case. the MA decap system should fix that time eater.
  3. after reading about these neck tension issues. I tried the MA die with my existing Redding pro set up---zero issues. no neck tension issues. nice straight cases. looking forward to reloading season( once the humidity is gone for the fall)
  4. thanks @HOGRIDER redding suggested a place that actually had them in stock a while back( NO ONE seemed to have them back then) had to buy quite a few to meet minimum order though. I like the fact that Redding CS is always there to help. Wayne seems to understand that as well. great personalized CS so far.
  5. can someone please explain to me how this die would cause an issue that my redding die did not. This is a sizing die, next step is expanding the neck, powder charge placed, bullet seated then crimped. not sure where danger comes in if the only change is the complete sizing of a case. perhaps rick or wayne could add some info , or those who use these dies might chime in about experience?
  6. one of the reasons that I tried the MA sizing die is the depriming pin system. I do like my dillon and redding dies however it is a huge PIA to have to pull depriming pins out of cases when they are stuck. . and then you have to reinstall the pin...and it happens again. and again. I know it is caused by the cases with an undersized hole. this depriming pin is screwed in and Wayne also state s on the site that it has an upgrade the quality of material too.
  7. a lot of thought and work went into your post@orlandoech. thanks for taking the time to share
  8. Wayne and @ar15rick sure made it hard to say no. I will try this die. I trust their opinions. plan to post a follow up once I get the die and run some rounds through it
  9. get a refund. do NOT accept the gun unless it is in perfect condition as ordered for that price they should NOT be approaching you, they should have built it right coatings included PERIOD
  10. fiocchis and ginex seem just fine. zero issues using them so far and no duds
  11. this might serve the purpose: https://grabagun.com/dan-wesson-specialist-45-acp-5-barrel-8-rounds-night-sights.html?avad=211021_d2a9000ad
  12. I wanted to break in the trigger on mine as it seemed a bit gritty. Thousands of dry fire shots with a laser cartridge used--zero issues and the trigger did smooth out a bit.
  13. Memphismechanic--thanks for the info and this thread. it seems to be just what my q5 mat ch needs
  14. When faced with your issue, start by measuring the crimp and OAL of commercial ammo that chambers properly in your gun. then make a dummy round or 3 and see if it fits in the chamber properly. Finally try to load the dummy rounds from a magazine by cycling the slide. good luck
  15. congrats to the Sarge on a lifetime of dedicated service. happy reloading @street survival--very thoughtful of you to feed his addiction to shooting and reloading. his retirement will be golden
  16. due to a very tight chamber on my CZ C A01 SD, I have found that the following reload works in that gun and all of my CZs so far brass-random headstamps due to range brass used( most are federal or winchester) 4.0 gr of titegroup fiocchi or cci/federal spp 124 gr fmj round nose bullet COAL 1.140" so far zero issues
  17. I add a couple of cap fulls of a quality car polish to my dry tumbler. helps with the dust and doe s wonders for your brass=shiny clean
  18. I started in 2020 with my reloading and primers were 20 cents per primer back then, now down to 7.5-10 cents( depending on the company). Also considering that powder is now 27-32 dollars a pound( up from 17 dollars a pound in 2020).below are my costs averaged out since buying that starte d in 2020 here is my latest pricing-cost per round 9mm brass=free 124 gr fmj bullet 10 cents powder about 3 cents( 4.0 gr of titegroup) primer--average 15 cents. for 45 acp bullets=185 gr fmj RN= 13-15 cents per bullet powder is about the same as amount as the 9mm as is th e primers I prefer my reloads these days as I have heard stories of newer commercial ammo being short loaded with powder and dirty powder being used to boot. mine are basically clean firing go bang everytime and cycles the slide.
  19. great primer. zero issues .loaded over 3000 round with them so far thecastlearms.com has their SPP for a decent price
  20. I started out using Alliant bullseye as many shooters I had spoken with liked it. a bit dirty , shot well, ignited every time. no issues. the shortage hit so I bought Hodgdon Titegroup as I have heard good things about it too. So far it is very much like bullseye in the way it meters, functions and the amount I use to load 45 acp 185 gr and 9mm 124 gr. using 4.o grains for the 9mm 124 gr fmj bullets. I cannot tell the difference between my reloads and commercial ammo so far Just starting out with 45acp as I had some AA#5 to finish off first. starter load 4.5gr of titegroup with a RN 185 gr fmj bullet. shoots like my 9mm as far as recoil

  22. interesting post. one forum member loves the case feeder anothe r hates it make s me believe the KISS(keep it simple stupid) is a mandra for me. the more simple the set up ( for now anyway) the less likely I will have MORE issues and slower reloading speeds. look what a couple of small primer loading system issues did to me. I will have to think long an d hard and do more research to add anything to the system now. I am inclined to see what my primer system fixes as well as developing a new work flow and rhythm will do for me.
  23. I think thos e ideas are interesting and may be considered. first step is incorporating some of the suggestions offered up so far . more organization in the loading area,=convenient placing of bullets, cases, developing a more steady ,yet safe. work flow and of course (hopefully) not fussing with the primer tower anymore).:) thanks
  24. YOu too @johnnymazz. enjoy this great holiday and thanks for your posts and help I agree cost is in the eye of the beholder. I once said I would never buy a n expensive 1911. now my favorite guns are made by the likes of Wilson Combat, Nighthawk, Deep River Customs and CZ Custom shop. perspective changes. wallets and wives are the limiters. To each their own. just have to enjoy what we like to do--shooting and reloading. It is very true that reloading is not a cost saving move--it is a shoot more for less than commercial ammo prices thing IMHO
