  1. Charles, I have used many pounds in 9mm major. I think Silhouette is a much better when loaded at or close to major in 9mm. The lighter loads will likely be very dirty but they should work. Ramshot data for a 124 FMJ shows 4.9 grs at 1009 fps and 5.6 grs at 1105 fps. I have chroned these loads out of my open gun with a 124 Montana Gold, 5.5 at 982 fps and 6.5 at 1165 fps. These were loaded to 1.170 oal. Hope this helps. If you were closer I would trade several pounds of Titegroup for Silhouette!
  2. This is indeed very sad news. I shot a lot of matches with Jake. My condolences to his family. RIP.
  3. You can also enlarge the exit hole to allow more gas to escape through the muzzle which will make the comp less effective. This should help on the dipping if you decide the comp is the issue.
  4. BP slugs work well in mine and are very accurate but my bolt is stock.
  5. Now that the sling issue is taken care of, is there a round count posted anywhere? Like on Facebook which I don't do. I know I'm a Neanderthal! :-)
  6. Alright! Can't wait, Baca's Bada$$ Standards. This is going to be awesome!!
  7. OK, I'm a little confused (which I am sure surprises no one). Do I need to mail the $245 or can I pay it on Practiscore? It appears that the balance can be paid on Practiscore. Thanks a lot for everyone's hard work on this. Don
  8. Doug was one of the "good guys". I am truely saddened by this terrible news. Our condolences to his family.
  9. OK, now the Rio Salado website shows Spring Steel for April 19.
  10. Rio website says April 26 which is unfortunately the same weekend as Multigun Nationals.
  11. I totally agree with this. Take my money after I am in the match, not before.
  12. I used the new Burris 1.5-8 scope at the RM3Gun and loved it. The higher magnification was a real help on the long range targets. Very generous field of view on it also.
  13. "Remembering Dave is easy, he had been an integral part of USPSA from the beginning. Anyone who has been involvd in the game for any reason owes Dave a debt of thanks. The sport would not be where it is without him" I could not agree more with Rob's statement. Dave was as much a part of USPSA as DVC! He would be seen at Nationals doing everything from ROing to hanging banners to doing scores. He will be missed. Our condolences to Heidi and the rest of his family. Rest in peace.
  14. I really want to shoot this match but have some concerns about the night stages. The website says we will need a rail on our guns for the Surefire supplied lights. The rifle and shotgun will not be a problem but will we need a rail on the pistol to be competitive? Also, will a laser provide an advantage? I have no equipment for night shooting so just want to see what is involved before I enter. Thanks
  15. I have been shooting Major 9 for years and learned early on that all brass is not created equal. The only time I had blown primers was when I used brass that was too soft. So I would first look at what brand brass this happens in.
  16. I totally agree with Trapr's and everyone's comments about the match. This was an excellent match, challenging but not too difficult. The stages were fun and ran smoothly. A huge thank you to everyone involved. Looking forward to next year.
