  1. RDA I think we are making the same point no one is attacking you.
  2. My point was for the millions of times we have all heard never load ammo for self-defense not once has anyone been able to provide an actual case where it mattered civil or criminal. Anymore I put this in the same category as Bigfoot. I’m done going off topic sorry OP and to answer your question take Pat’s advice, he is right on as usual.
  3. please give an example of a case where that happened
  4. all M&Ps have the same rear sight cut except the core models.
  5. I don't remember if I cut them to 13 or 14 coils I'll check and get you an answer
  6. I would start with a stock follower and see if that fixes your problem. If the top round in the mag is pointing down when it is being fed it could be there is not enough support on the front of the follower (guess it would be that the rear leg is to short sorry still waking up) . Are you running stock M&P mag springs? With the Tayler extended pads I was running stock springs and they worked when new but died fast. I tried ISMI springs but they were worse than the factory springs. The best solution I found was Tayler freelance sells a 170 M&P mag spring that I cut down. These springs worked well for me all of last season. I would not recommend a 13lb recoil spring in an M&P or any striker fired gun but many people do it. Even if a lighter recoil spring eased your problem it would not fix it.
  7. Got confirmation for my squad today, got a little nervous since I have seven other people I sent apps in for. All is good, this makes 7 years we have shot PSA it is always a great match. Now I’m going to try and remember 9 then 10, 10, hopefully done.
  8. Yea I’m starting to get worried, I sent 8 applications in on the day they were released and have not heard anything. I’ve emailed Jeff 3 times now without a response. Squad Mom is getting worried.
  9. I don’t feel the striker spring has as big of an effect on trigger weight with the M&P as it does in a Glock. That being said my stock striker sets can use WSR primers but I would not count on them. When you look at the primers of fired rounds they resemble a 233 that was chambered in an AR but not fired, just a very small dimple in the middle. I would recommend sticking with the stock spring but if you insist on running a reduced striker spring the Glock spring does fit. I would strongly suggest federal primers if you use a reduced power spring. I do not believe that the hassle in doing that is worth the very small reduction in trigger weight on an M&P. WSP primers are my favorite but I’ve run CCI SPP without issues in my M&Ps. The WSP are a little softer and have a deeper indentation. First rule is you need your gun to go bang every time the trigger is pulled.
  10. I don’t think you can cut down the base pads and still be production legal. I’m not 100% on that but it does seem like an external modification. I’d certainly check before I took them to a major match. I’ve never played with the full size 10 round magazines so I’m not sure which pads would work with them. I have a question. All my compact base pads use the steel retainers with a round peg in the center. S&W changed to a plastic retainer and I assume that they also made new compact base pads that utilize the new retainer but I’m not sure. Can anyone confirm that?
  11. you have to get the proper retainer for the base pad, other then that it is a strait drop in part no mods needed.
  12. Why not put compact factory base pads on your mags if you are having trouble with the stock ones? They are smaller then the factory pads plus lighter and 1/10 the cost of the 10-8 pads.
  13. Does anyone know if the new models Para is producing are 70 or 80 series? Thanks, Ryan

  15. Does anyone know if a Remington 1100/1187 safety will work in a Versamax. I ran a Vang comp big head safety in my 1100 and would like to run the same safety in my new Versamax. Unfortunately I sold the safety with my 1100 so I can’t try it myself. Thanks, Ryan
  16. Dawson is my choice, same front sight I run on most of my handguns. Dawson will make custom sizes I had them make one .100 wide for my 22/45 and I could not be happier.
  17. Well I emailed and PMed Julie a week ago about the weight listed for the 5 40 pro and no answer Anyone have a better way to contact her or someone at S&W to get this fixed
  18. I haven’t seen a big difference in the coatings in fact most of the time they are almost identical. Loading mixed brass I expect some deviation in velocity.
  19. Well I got to go chrono yesterday, nice 20 degree day. I only had 140gr 40s in multiple generations so that is the only comparison I was able to do. All rounds were loaded with mixed cases, 4.0 grs of Clays, WSP, and an OAL of 1.135. All strings are 10 rounds each average velocity. Gen 3 coating 5 strings 966 971 966 984 975 Gen 1 coating 5 strings 968 978 970 974 981
  20. Can you tell us what was wrong with the slides. Thanks, Ryan
  21. Call Dawson they will make custom sights. I had them make me a .100 wide front sight for my ruger MKIII.
  22. Sounds good Mark I can't wait to get one on my Versa. Thanks, Ryan
