  1. Running the numbers the PD seems to be the smart decision.
  2. Thanks, I will check out Precision Delta.
  3. Hey guys to clarify I am using 125 SNS coated and i am gritting some leading in my barrel and comp. Load functions great and is accurate enough for what I'm doing but I want to eliminate the leading.
  4. I am switching my PCC loads over to a plated bullet and was curious to what everyone's preferred plated bullet is. I prefer a 124/5 grain round nose and I am using tightgroup for my powder.
  5. How does it work on rocks? The range I shoot at has gravel/ground asphalt in the pistol bays.
  6. Corncob media and cheap turtle wax gets my brass pretty clean. Turtle wax is cheap and a bottle lasts forever.
  7. I went with a Trijicon MRO and have been very happy with it.
  8. Just watched the video, thanks for posting that. I'm looking into a CH 4d now.
  9. Has anyone used this RCBS die before? It seems like a good option to swage on my single stage since the 650 is out of the question. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/235832/rcbs-primer-pocket-swager-combo-2
  10. I used two drums to set up a drill where I walked a figure 8 and had a full size silhouette target. At the front of the 8 was about 10 yards at the back was about 15. This drill really helped me learn to shoot on the move. Another Good drill is Steve Anderson's call it and leave it drill, it helped learn to shoot sooner coming into a position and leave sooner when I'm done shooting in that position.
  11. Go with the 650 and Case feeder, you won't regret it. I am pretty busy with family and work and can crank out 800-1k in 1-2 hours including loading primer tubes. That's something I couldn't too with my old LNL or my friends 550.
  12. I empty the hopper on my 650 after every loading session. I keep my press in my garage and load at least once a month sometimes 3-4 times when I'm shooting a lot. I don't know if the temp or humidity would effect the powder but I'm not willing to take a chance.
  13. I have used clays before but I recently switched to 231. Clays was very dirty. I don't remember my charge weight, I will look it up. Case was speer SP and a 230gr SNS RN.
  14. I have owned two savages a 12fv in 223 and a model 12 F-class in 6.5×284 both rifles were very accurate. I sold the 223 because it was too heavy for a 223 17lbs with B&C stock and scope. I burned the barrel out on the 6.5x284 and had plans to rebarrel to 6br but never did, sold the rifle to help fund 3gun. I would not hesitate to buy another savage. I never had reliability issues from mine. The only knock I have against them is that their aftermarket stock selection is pretty low compared to other companies like Remington and Tikka.
  15. You should consider the Ruger Precision Rifle in 6/6.5cm. Hornady ammo is available everywhere and the 6cm has excellent ballistics. If your going to start PRS I would do it with a 6/6.5cm and skip the 308.
  16. I bought a Q Trash Panda from silencer shop. Length and weight were important to me because I will be packing the rifle around. It will be used on a 6.5CM and 300blk AR. Also the Trash Panda comes with two cherry bomb muzzle breaks.
  17. Graphite helps but I cleaned up the machining marks with some 1k/1.5k grit sandpaper. It helped quite a bit.
  18. I auto deduct 40 dollars per week into a separate savings account that I use for nothing but hobbies. It takes a while to save up for anything big but it adds up after a while. I also do some minor gunsmithing projects for friends and reload ammo for them. It's not much money but helps.
  19. I will look into.the Super Swage 600 with spring kit to help speed things up. I like the idea of a built in swager on a 1050 but can't justify the price difference right now.
  20. Well volume wise I shoot around 1k a year of 223 but that could easliy go up in the future. What I have done over the past several years was decap then size on my LNL AP then use a chamfering tool to cut out the crimp by hand. The process was very slow and tedious and took the better part of the weekend and I just don't have time do do it that way anymore. I sold my LNL to help fund the 650, sounds like it would have been a good brass prep machine but I would have a hard time keeping it for 1 weekend run a year.
  21. Got it so instead of a Swage It on a 650 I would be better off to have a Mighty Armory die in a single stage or a Dillon Super Swage? Or a prep center and just use the chamfering tool to cut the crimp out?
  22. I have owned my 650 for about 6 months now and have only loaded 9mm on it. I am going to start loading 223 on my 650 soon and had a question on swageing the primer pocket, for efficeny I was considering purchasing a Swage It and installing it when sizing my brass. Does anybody here use it and it not can you recommend an alternative?
  23. My combo is a 55gr for close stuff to 300 and a 77gr Nosler custom comp for 300 out. I tried the 68/75gr from Hornady and couldn't get them to shoot well from my ar, I think they were jumping to much freebore at mag length loading. I use Benchmark for my heavy loads, I have tried Varget but I think it's too slow for an 18" barrel.
  24. Yes I tend to shoot better when squaded with top level shooters but it's from watching their stage breakdown/plan. My level of skill is what it is on matchday, I just see my sights and call my shots.
  25. Check out silencershop, you buy online and go to a Kiosk to complete the paperwork. I am planning on purchasing my first suppressor on Friday and will have more details on how it works then.
