  1. No one cares & not being illegal are two different things.
  2. Remember the slug stage at the last Ft. Benning? Clear several rooms with slugs, finish with pistol. I used my Saiga & BP slugs, what a hoot. The BP slugs are very accurate, soft, & cheap. Get them by the case directly from the link above.
  3. When I was messing around with this, I tried Arredondo +2 bases without the finger insert. I had some of the regular inserts for STI mags. The finger insert is used in the Para 9/38 tubes & is not needed in 40 mags. The fingers are delicate & deform easily. With thoses base/inserts, & Arredondo springs & followers, I got 19 if I recall correctly, but the follower would usually get stuck in the tube. If you are serious about running this gun without mag issues, just get new STI mags from anywhere, change to Grams guts, Dawson or TTI bases, be happy with 20, & go shoot. For the most part Arredondo mag parts are pure crap & will disappoint you.
  4. I wear Converse, now Reebok, desert tan boots. year round. They are Very comfortable & have great traction. Highly recommend them.
  5. But your pic clearly shows your thumb under the safety. If that is not how you shoot, what does that pic represent?
  6. Is that the one with magnets? Watch the finish on the slide, I saw an SV slide wear down to bare steel from the magnets contacting it.
  7. Near Columbus, is the Gun Room in Powell. They had an indoor range last time I was there. Not too far is Circleville, Raynor's Range, and Briar Rabbit.
  8. My Para Pro Comp 40 is Ionbonded. I've used only kydex holsters with it, & it looks like day 1. Still, nothing beats hard chrome for wear. It is harder than the steel under it. When my open build is done, it will be sent to APW.
  9. I run a 17# main & 10 recoil, both ISMI.
  10. If its a gas block leak, they usually go away after some rounds. The carbon will seal it up. If yours continues to streak and not seal, you may have to swap gas blocks. Try changing one thing at a time, so you aren't chasing fixes. All of the suggestions are good, hopefully only one thing is wrong and not all of them! For photos, host them to photobucket or similar, then put the img link in the post. Magically the photo will be there when you post it.
  11. Are they pulling the mag out of the gun by hand then transferring it to the dump pouch? Besides being slow & non-competitive, it is not SS legal.
  12. What model holster? Are you happy with it? It fits well enough to be secure? The OWB. Runs $64.95 on their website. Has tension screws to dial in how tight it holds the gun.
  13. I'm using a Blade Tech belt holster with a Teklok for the STI Edge for my Pro Match.
  14. He's in Cleveland, so I'd guess Fin Feather & Fur.
  15. Looks nice for $1200. I'd take a chance for that price.
  16. I realize the follower is different but the tube is a 10mm tube with no spacer. If you swapped back to the original follower you'd have a regular 10mm mag. 40 mags have a spacer. 10mm do not. Follower has nothing to do with it. The special follower allows the mag to hold 10 instead of 9 of 40 or 10mm.
  17. What buffer system? When ran too heavy of buffer with my Voodoo bcg & adjustable gas I got fte & feed.
  18. If it was built by a competent smith with no surprises, it's a great deal.
  19. If you want to use ammo longer than 1.5", you'll need 10mm mags. 40 mags have a spacer preventing long loaded ammo. I'm running 10mm Checkmates in my Pro Comp.
  20. Yes. I ordered some new STI mags & they work fine. I switched to Grams guts & Dawson bases & get 20. I modded the followers to not lock the slide back.
  21. Stock STI & old style SV work in mine with no mods. Add the guts & pads of your choice to get desired capacity. Easy peasy. I wasted a lot of time on mags when it was really that simple.
