Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. My preferred load for the Extreme 147 RN is 3.5 N320 with OAL 1.16 runs thru my XDM at 132PF soft and very clean
  2. I have almost every 650 upgrade imaginable and the one absolute thing I will NEVER replace is the cartridge powder check alarm. I still visually glance but when I get on a roll of 700-800 per hour the alarm serves as an excellent backup. Gues I will never get an auto bullet feeder.
  3. My favorite is VV N320 but a friend of mine uses TG exclusively i his 9mm with Xtreme 147 RN and really likes it. A bit too sooty for my liking.
  4. Not bad at all for the money. I use mainly for short yardage shots. Shoot well for 3 gun at short yardage. Anythig over 75 I go to Sierra 1410.
  5. +1 on N320 My favorite powder for 9mm 147 RN
  6. Which one of the Extreme 115 did you use the standard 115 or the HPCB i see they offer both. Assuming they are the RN.
  7. BULLET WEIGHT147 GR. HDY XTP ManufacturerIMR Powder700-X Bullet Diameter.355" C.O.L.1.100" Starting Load Grains2.6 Velocity (ft/s)764 Pressure27,300 PSI Maximum Load Grains2.9 Velocity (ft/s)838 Pressure32,000 PSI This is what Hogdon shows for the 700X under a 147 jacketed bullet. Obviously barrel length will dictate power factor since I am sure you know the formula is (bullet weight x velocity) Personally I always start on the low side and work up looking for pressure signs via the primers or the cases. Just my two cents worth,
  8. Thanks all for the information regarding my post. It is very much appreciated and I welcome any more information. I am always open to ideas or suggestions for any load development.
