  1. @ecn515I guess you did mention the TF bases already, I apparently hadn't noticed. Glad to hear you say they're working as advertised.
  2. I've been in situations where the extra 6 rounds from a TTI base has allowed me to change mags in a much better place than a standard 40 would have. Just a thought. Another option that I'd like to test for prone stability in the near future:http://taylorfreelance.com/shopping/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=27&products_id=231
  3. Yeah that's why I don't put a lot of stock in YT reviews. I'm lucky to shoot regularly with a group of people who like to try new products, so I usually get to play with things and see it in action before I make any purchases.
  4. Too bad you weren't looking for the MG's when everyone I shoot with tried them and immediately sold them at a loss. If I remember correctly even the Taccom sponsored guy wasn't a fan.
  5. No issues at all, its been very consistent in my 550.
  6. Shot a precision rifle match. It'll help my 3 gun scores but I'm worried I've been sucked into another expensive shooting sport.
  7. Most people assume it's a PPSH-41 for some reason.
  8. Thats a close race, I'd go with the Steiner. Better reticle, better glass and brighter dot.
  9. Agree with everything AW has said. I run an R12Q and a 2.8 full time with a ton more I can add and a chest rig if needed. Hate chest rigs on account of the fact that they suck balls but it's good to have on occasion.
  10. Thats what I was thinking but didn't have the ambition to write...
  11. Whats wrong with Winchester Universal? Even the deformed shells run fine in my gun.
  12. Have you guys ran 21" vs 24" loads over a chrono? I've seen it done a few times and the longer barrels were always slower.
  13. Had to Google it to know what you meant, the only thing the Freedom model adds is a 10 round tube. I'd buy the standard model and put the money saved towards a 12 round tube. Either way, I'd buy any model of Stoeger 3000, even the basic one, before I touched a JM Pro with someone else's 6 inch pole.
  14. This question has been asked quite a few times here over the years. It always ends up with 100 previous JM owners arguing with the 3 current JM owners. And then there's the guys like me that have no dog in the fight but have yet to see one complete a match without pooping its pants. In that price range I would rather buy an M3000 than take a free JM Pro.
  15. Free bullets!?!? Yeah I'd be shooting those too.

  17. I use LC brass and tried the headstamp sorting and weight grouping for awhile but didn't see an appreciable difference in accuracy or ES so now I just treat all LC brass as the same. For powder I would definitely give 8208 XBR a shot. It's been awesome with everything I've tried it in. It's typically a bit faster than Varget but slower than CFE or TAC. The accuracy makes it worth it though. I would also suggest trying the 73 ELD. Shorter than the 77 TMK, great accuracy potential, same BC and quite a bit cheaper.
  18. Yes. It was noticeable when I went from mid to intermediate with no other changes.

Scott Perman sells a extra powered detent spring to fix this. Made a big difference in mine.
  20. We'll have to take samples and send them cross country to settle this properly. I'll pay shipping. On a side note, I've disposed of 13 opossums (opossi?) in the last four months and a similar number of raccoons. I've never noticed the opossum stink people talk about, but some coons have a smell that really bothers me, kinda like stale piss with a special hot garbage sauce. I actually don't think skunk is that bad either, but I have yet to be sprayed. I might change my tune then...
  21. Can't be worse than the average dairy farm during calving season when there's a big heap of them that didn't make it. They usually sit for awhile till it seems like no more will be added, then someone comes along with the bale forks on the skidloader and takes them away. I can think of some other things but that example was the easiest to explain.
  22. Your son is on to something. Shotgunning isn't nearly as scientific as say long range rifle shooting. It's one of those things were you just have to do it so much that you're on autopilot. You didn't mention what kind of shooting you're practicing for. If it's clay sports, find the nearest gun club and jump in. If its 3 gun, set up multiple steel arrays and practice managing recoil while shooting quickly and work on loading efficiently while moving. That'll keep you busy for a while, eventually you'll get a feel for what you suck at so you can have more focused practice sessions. If you haven't shot a match yet, go try it and you'll find out even sooner what you need to work on.
  23. Yeah business card thickness is nothing in the world of loose chokes. Mine back out more than that by the end of every high round count stage. Something was very wrong with that gun when you got it and it should definitely be covered under warranty.
