  1. I can't remember the last match that I didn't get heckled and/or whistled at during an entire stage..
  2. Wouldn't you rather just shoot a semi auto in the PRS gas gun division? That and it sounds very expensive to hose paper targets with in 3 gun, even before you figure the cost of lost brass and shortened barrel life. Even running it as a bolt action you'll still have some disadvantages vs. a bolt that are inherent to the AR platform. That and if 224V is anything like the 22 Nosler you may need a +2" gas system to keep from destroying brass. The SLR and the Syrac are both detent blocks.
  3. It's a sickness. It's possible, but unlikely, that more shooting will cure it. Or it might not.
  4. Doesn't the Tac-Mod weigh like 8lbs Adam? Not that I'm a light rifle guy but when I considered the TM a couple years back it seemed a bit porky.
  5. orangeman said what many of us were thinking, seems like a fine way to end the thread.
  6. I've worn out a few sets of BFG AT's, I don't remember the KO2 in the name, is that like the second generation? Anyways, the AT's have always been a good balance of traction and road drivability for me.
  7. One of the matches in my area runs the T&N targets. There's no doubt they speed up reset and work well. They're not complicated and I've priced out what it would take to build my own but without buying the steel in bulk I wouldn't save much, especially after my time investment.
  8. Something in this magnification range would be my choice for typical 3 gun distances:https://www.midwayusa.com/product/487734/athlon-optics-ares-ed-spotting-scope-75-225x-50mm-angled-body-green
  9. I would look into a lower powered spotting scope on a tripod over binoculars. The stability gained will greatly aid in consistently making calls.
  10. What is "Superbowl"? Or is it spelled Superbowel?
  11. FIFY There is no one size fits all.
  12. The buttpad height, cant and cast allow me to get positive contact of the the entire pad to my chest. With my MFT or any other standard stock the toe of the stock hits my pec first and thats all that really touches. More stock contact with my body equals better recoil control. Oh yeah, it looks badass too.
  13. @GetAwayDriva I agree completely. Seems like people have already forgotten the days of old school weak hand loading. That was tough to pick up, the current quad loading products on the market help someone become reasonably proficient at loading with only a few hours of practice. Now apparently even that is too hard. Let's come up with a new division, we'll call it Lazy F**ker division or LF for short. No stages will have more than 8 shotgun targets, no pistol targets smaller than an IPSC classic and no rifle targets further than 80 yards. It will be the most inclusive division ever and anyone can show up with any guns and only be held back by the timer (until we stop using them), because the stage designs surely won't be intimidating or challenging.
  14. I'd love to oblige guys, but there's forum rules against such provocative images. You'll have to use your imagination.
  15. Didn't feel like dressing for the weather so I practiced shooting my 450yd plate from in the house while seated on the toilet. I love my backyard.
  16. Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead. Food for thought.
  17. I love the Zulu. I can't say if it's the best or better than the Cole Components, XLR, etc. but I definitely prefer it over the Luth. The ability to adjust buttpad cant and cast with the Zulu is a big deal to me. I don't miss the cheek height adjustment of the Luth, it's an overrated feature on an AR thats not a side charger.
  18. What do you include in case prep? I've only ever had to trim a piece of brass once, after that I've never needed to.
  19. I did exactly as zzt described. Getting rid of the useless checkering was good, but the real benefit was the huge reduction in circumference. It feels like an entirely different gun afterwards.
  20. Thanks guys! I appreciate it! Now I better go post some useful info to earn my keep...
  21. I do the same as Flatland Shooter, light 55gr loads inside of 200. If I buy components in bulk that load costs as low as $190 per 1k. I haven't looked in awhile but I've never found factory ammo that cheap.
  22. Now I know where Reuben's been getting his latest batch of ideas. He regularly has plate racks and mini poppers at around 100yds at his matches and it doesn't appear to cause the PCC guys any grief.
