  1. I have both due to our stupid state laws I can only shoot the .45 in the state I live in, so the minor gun is for out of state matches.
  2. I got the handgun version doesn't have the pistol bags and the gun compartment is front opening like the DAA pack http://www.goutdoorsproducts.com/products/the-handgunner-backpack/
  3. most of the time at our major matches the verification can't be done until about half way through the day ( one lady does most of the work and mighty good at it ) but we are a little more forgiving of genuine errors it seems than most.
  4. IPSC Classic Div Nighthawk Custom 9mm with Wison 10 rnd EMT mags Springfield Loaded .45 with CMC 8 rnd mags
  5. whats the idea of the hole through the grip?
  6. We actually rely on a touch of discretion from our RO's to use common sense.
  7. He used the magnet comment in relation to being able to put the mags anywhere after the start signal
  8. Just ordered a set for my M&P. Will see how they go.
  9. Maybe He was shooting IPSC? The range command is "load and make ready"
  10. In IPSC you can NOT have any mags or speed loaders or equipment forward of the hip bone in any division other than Open regardless if you are not going to use it ( which is the excuse heard around the world), Open Div still has to maintain the 50mm rule also.
  11. 5.2.4 During the course of fire, after the start signal, unless stipulated otherwise in the stage procedure, spare ammunition, magazines and/or speed loading devices shall be carried in retention devices attached to the competitor's belt and specifically designed for that purpose. Unless specifically prohibited in the Written Stage Briefing, a competitor may also carry additional magazines or speed loading devices in apparel pocket(s) and retrieve and use them, providing that the location of the apparel pocket does not violate the requirements of Appendix D, Item 12 (subject to the provisions of Rule 6.2.5.1). It is NOT a spare it's a mag the guy pulled out of the gun and it is not being carried
  12. This seems a different situation as we are not talking about starting the CoF with the mag in the front pocket, shooter removes it from gun, places it in pocket , clears malfunction and then replaces it in to gun, not sure where that would be not ok. Mind you I would probably drop that mag and clear ir and grab a fresh one if I had one.
  13. We have had guys with their own reloads fail chrono at major matches by cutting too close to the numbers, the ammo passed at home but then at the match it fails, mostly it's from Major to minor but I do know of cases where it's shoot for no score. It can be differences in air temp sea level heights any number of things get thrown around as to why. Our club chrono seems to show at least 2 factors lower than most peoples and it's the one used for our State Champs
  14. have a look at the Nighthawk Custom slide stop.
  15. The problem is bdpaz it may well make factor in some guns, so they may not be as you put it 'making false claims' Unfortunately it just didn't in old mates. Do we know what it failed by?

  17. In what regards do you mean responsibility? If it doesn't make factor I want a refund? Or doesn't make factor I want my scores to count at the match anyway? Was the ammo from a commercial reloader or a guy selling reloads?
  18. Is the sight dovetail mounted or machined Kingman?
  19. Hard wood would probably work ok as I'm assuming it's not going to be used a lot. But as I said it's the match box that's the one it MUST fit,
  20. It depends on when the gun is tested as if its done before the match it's basically a courtesy and you fix it. If during the match ie: chrono it's welcome to Open. We use the DAA aluminium box as our official box that has sliding lid on it.
  21. Be careful of making your box out of wood and using that as a guide before matches, you will find that most matches that use the box it will be either steel, aluminium or perspex as there will be no 'give' in the box when inserting the gun. Always make your box to the minimum spec as if it fit's in that it 'should ' fit in the match box. Remeber to run a straigh edge across the top of your box to make sure it doesn't miss out on the height as well ie: thumb rest. As an IROA official I have run gun checks at our National and State matches and you would be surprised how many guy's front up and their gun's don't fit, the usual comment is but it fitted in my box or the clubs box, unfortunately that's not the one used at the match so tough tittie.
